Thank you so much! I was struggling because of not being able to fix images where I wanted without them moving around when I pressed the Enter Key or just typed something.
Brilliant, clear and precise, with such perfect English (and I dont intend to be patronsing). I wanted something else, but found this one educational so watched to the end. I really wanted to know how to stop my lines indenting. I adjust the arrows at top (paragraph), but it doesn't lock in that position. Could you advise please. Thanks.
Hi, your tutorial is very good and very clear. I really like how you highlight in red, the items you need to select or click on. May I ask how you did that? thanks!
very nice tutorial Lisa,, my question is this,, i have a lot of images in my document, is there a way to set the distance from text for the entire document ( make it a default for every docuemnt in the future as well? so i dont have to do this for each image im dropping into the page? New Subscriber too!
If I don't want to eyeball it and want those two different image boxes next to each other to be exactly the same size, how would I do that? Thanks so much for all your excellent videos. Subscribed!!
Click on one box, go to SHAPE FORMAT and note the height and width on th right hand size of the ribbon. Make sure both images are the same size either by cropping them or cutting and pasting the sizes into the height and width boxes.
i use a textbox filled with color as a background on one side, then use boxes inside of that box to insert words and images. but 50% of the time i move the background box by accident, or when i click on it i automatically scroll to the bottom of the page. i need to lock it completely.
I have a Word document with many quick parts. I need to change the text wrapping from in front of text to in line with text for all of them. Can't find a way to do that. Hope you can help me. Many thanks, Judy
Hi, Thank you so much, you are teaching well, clear n easy to understand. I have few question though.. first of all, what words version you are using, mine is a 2007 and i cant have the side option to choose from a image's group.. i can only choose "image" then it open a windows on one file where i can change the one i wish to.. BUT.. it mean i don't have other option either...then it become a bit tricky... Second thing...when i want to put my image from side to side of the document.. how to proceed ? i put all my text first, then i insert the image where i want them to be ? actually, i copy and paste thext until there is an image, then i paste my image, then copy and paste the other text, until next image and so on.. problem is when i reside the image, some of the text above jump down under the image.. when i try to slide down the image, it jump back at where i put it, or even upper disturbing the previous text..up to messing to the previous image. i get so angry, if it could do something good, i would screw the image with real screw through the screen...It look so easy looking at you ,moving your image.. and i was amased when i saw you making a text be coming intile with image properties... so there must be a way to work with it that is easy and simple. Last thing...how can i put all my settings in the programm so no matter how many new words documents i create, they would have all my settings pre settle ? You see, i make many 3 to 5 page documents with pictures and i have to spend more time settling them then making the doccument itselt... not really practical. Help please !!! Thanks. Michel
Did you use the TEXT WRAPPING option and menu? It sound like you may not have the correct wrapping for your images. Right click on the image and go to TEXT WRAPPING and select the one you want.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. I'm editing my book and for the last two days my pictures were jumping pictures, driving me insane. I was angry, very angry. I wanted to stomp a mud hole in Word. I even considered giving up writing because of this time-consuming nonsense. You saved my life. Thank You!
when I copy then paste to picture the table is distorted with some boxes very large. I have been searching for a solution to this problem and it seems like nobody can answer it. Can anybody out there help me with this? Thanks.
I've followed the instructions exactly and the picture keeps moving. Whether I click fix position on page or move with text it does the same thing..moves with the text. What am I doing wrong?
I guess there is still no way to truly "lock" an image or shape in Word? The instructions in this video are for removing images from document flow, but they aren't actually "locked"... a user can still select the images and move/delete them. I wish there was a way to truly lock elements, so that they weren't accidentally selected while editing a document (background image for example).
The only way to lock the images so the user can't edit them is to lock the entire document within the developer tab. This tutorial was mean't to demonstrate how you can lock them into position within your document and not lock the whole document.
Locked the image and its still moving. I put the page into 2 columns, my image is in the left column. When I type in the right column the image just flies around the page even if I lock it. Useless.
Perfectly explained. My text and photos were jumping all over the page. Tnak you. Thumbs up!
You're welcome!

Thank you! The red lines are part of the video editing software from Camtasia.

Of all the videos I search, this one helps me to do my job. Thank You !
You're so welcome! :))))
The text box and image still move places when I want to share them. It's so infuriating.

Thank you for saving me many hours as a meticulously format my rather large document.
You're welcome! glad it helped :)
Is it possible to do this for tables? I use tables for all of the figures, equations and tables of my papers.
Yes, it would work for tables. You may have to put the table into a text box, but that's easy to do :)

why does nobody explain the position tab.... even when they mention position in their title of the video :(
Thanks.
Good explanation
Great explanation but the text and graphics go all over the place when I share the doc 😡at my wits end with it 🤦♀️
The video does not show you how to lock image. On to the next video.

Mais pourquoi on vois le titre en français et la video en anglais 👎 UA-cam c'est stupide
C'est l'option de traduction automatique, ça veut dire qu'il y a surement des sous-titre. J'avoue que c'est pas ouf le délire
This video made image placement on Word for me go from hell on Earth to merely insufferable.
