- I’ve never owned, or driven, a brand new car. When INEOS Grenadier reached out, I had no idea if they made yoghurt or loin cloth. I knew they supported a Tour de France team, and the world’s fastest marathon runner, but didn’t know they made cars. Nice cars it turns out. Heavy, made to last, made to mend. At least, that was the spiel. ‘Beau’, they told me ‘this car will take you deep into the hills mate. Get you off the beaten path!’ Righto, I said, I’ll come in and take one for a spin. So that’s what I did.
I've not finished the film, however I imagine Beau showing up on the lot saying "hey now, why not give me these parts sitting over here and I'll build myself my own car?"
Anyone having a go at Beau for getting a new car is a flog. The bloke never throws anything away, reuses or recycles just about everything he has, makes things instead of buying them, grows his own vegetables and fruit, heats his home with firewood, buys the vast majority of his clothes from Op shops and would rather walk or get a train somewhere than drive in the first place. The blokes gotta get around somehow. Enjoy your success and goodonya beaudie!

Only Beau could do promo for a car and tell us absolutely nothing about the car! We know you can move the seat and it is “good”, but I learned more about Beau’s pants and Australian trains and leeches than I did about Grenadier in this film and that’s why we love the man!

That's not a car, that's a tank!
It's based on the old land rover just made by a new company as land rover stopped making it. So they improved it and re-released it as a proper off roader aimed at same kind of people, farmers, off-roaders, people in the countryside etc. the only difference from the outside to the land rover defender is the headlights and rear lights the overall shape is the same and it has a better engine as I think it's BMW so much cleaner on fuel and will be reliable for anything thrown at it. Many of the old land rovers have their engines upgraded/replaced with BMW Units as there more reliable more economical and more powerful so win win all round. This just does that out the box with a bit more tech thrown in..

I fell in love with Beau over the years, watching his refreshing and slight anti consumerism videos passionately, with his love for running as my main driver. Have to admit I did raise an eyebrow when I in some videos saw him driving around in a brand new Ineos Grenadier and thought wealth and power eventually gets us all. But I guess good on Beau if they gifted him a car for nothing and a hell of one at that. Keep being you Beau

New car, run in the bush, kids - life is good. Off this morning for a bush run with my kids here in Sydney - anything to get out of suburbia. We should see a goanna or two, maybe a few roos and if we're really lucky, play with a few leeches, which are truly amazing creatures. Cheers mate - Dave

Grenadier at base spec is IMHO the best new all around 4x4 getting around. Hopefully as sales continue to improve, after sales service and parts availability will continue to improve. Enjoy it! It’s a beautiful rig

Doesn't feel very Beau vales aligned this, an advert for a resource heavy piece of kit in a beleagured world, groaning at the seams from overuse - a subject which a lot of Beaus vids are about. No begrudgement - I wouldnt want one. And the palpable awkwardness and dullness of the video (you could have driven to that trail head in any car just as happily...) feels like Beau saying "trains are better, but I need to make a living." It felt like there was a lot Beau was NOT saying in this video that the Beau we know and respect would be saying.

I wish I could get Beau set up with a bicycle to do some video on. I've the perfect one in mind. Not thinking of a cyclist, thinking of a commuter. I feel like I've a grasp on what'd work well there.
OK so I know that this is just on Beauisms, and hey I'd probably take a free car loan too but the bit I don't like about this is the way that taking the free car has the perception of silencing your voice. Like usually I'd expect some kind of introspective monologue from you - maybe thoughts about getting something nice for free, weighing up the ethics of product placement, promoting a massive behemoth of a car that realistically most of the purchasers will only ever drive in the city, etc.
Instead it's just a straight shot 'I got this free nice thing'. And I don't mind that, but I bet you had some conflicted thoughts when deciding whether to take the free loan, but you can't really voice these thoughts in a promo spot, so you don't. Is that unethical? I don't know. Vaguely? It's normal in our society. But I wish it wasn't.

Hey Beau, I continue to love your stuff. You definitely need a capable car, but I suspect Ineos are lending it to you in the hope that your fans will think they need one too, and 99% of them really don't. Can't fault you for trying it out but I hope no fan gets carried away and buys one, they're not good for society.

@@homer5103 I mean, they're not wrong. Cars don't need to be as big as the one Beau is driving, and if everyone drove a car that size, we'd very soon have little room for all of them. Plus they drink a LOT of fuel!
@ not even remotely true size wise, every upper class suburban mum drives a car that size and we haven’t run out of space for them

Ineos has our gouvernement hostage for a billion euro investment in a plastics factory that will keep our economy hooked on the fossil fuels that monstrocity guzzles. These compagnies try everything not be held accountable for the staggering amount of pollution and waste they produce.

I believe he would be required to declare that it is a paid spot if it were one. I believe the "payment" here is probably just that he gets to drive this gasoline gussler around for some time and he can then do whatever. This is his second channel which he never talks about after all, this is not where he gets the big views.
