I didn't even know I had to use iron cleaner. Thanks guys!👍
a tip : watch series at Flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Cristian Joaquin yup, I've been using Flixzone for years myself :D
Thanks. I just followed your instructions. I just moved into a place and I inherited this water softener. I wasn’t planning on using it until I realized how hard the water is here, never lived in an area with this problem. So I did my research, cleaned it up and filled it with salt, put the rust off, clicked recharge, now it’s making nose like water is running . But I have no idea how It’s suppose to sound, what to expect. Any information would be appreciated, thanks.
Yes when the unit is recharging it does sound like water running.
Hi I did this cleaning and it worked great it even increased my water pressure but I don't know if this caused a issue with my salt turning to mush or could it be bad salt pellets ? I'm Leary of tiring it again because cleaning out the brine tank is a big job. Your thoughts. Ty
I don't understand why they presenter did not precisely measure the amount of rust out chemical and properly agitated to thoroughly put it into solution in the distilled water. It's my guess that making sure the rest out chemical was completely dissolved prior to adding it to the brine tank would have made for a much more thorough job cleaning the resin during the regeneration cycle. Anyway, just some suggestions to help improve the presenters next video. Also, thank you for this UA-cam video.
How do you drain water from this water softener?
What about a potassium style soft water system? A potassium style system require the same maintenance as a salt style soft water system as shown on this video? Thank you.
Hey I have water softener and water filter. Why my water taste like bitter . Not sure what should I put as hardness. I have put it 40. I want to have salty taste
My water softener supplier is recommending to change the resin every 12 month because we have very hard water. Every article I could find on the Internet recommends a change between 5 - 10 years. What is the truth?
What set point do I set the hardness for a steamer
You were doing pretty "well", until you used a drinking cup to measure the powder and then with no funnel, poured the product all over your counter! Since it's an inhalation, eye and skin hazard, I hope you cleaned up carefully...while holding your breath!
Does water stay in the softener after recharge is complete?
My salt level is 4 and water level in it is 6.?
Does water need to drain completely after recharge?
You have a problem, happened to me recently, not normal, reply if you want pointers.
I am unable to add to my brine tank. Mine doesn't have a cap like yours that comes off.
The entire tank is the brine tank. Poor the mixture in when the salt is low.
Whah do I do if the salt is turning a brownish color ?
You can use the Iron Out to dissolve iron build up in your tank. If it’s not build up in your tank, you may have eroding pipes.
How was your experience with ge water softener, does it reduce water pressure? Which model did you get? I’m thinking about getting one.
It has been great! We do not see any reduction in water pressure and it has made a huge difference.
@@ahealthierhouse1125 thanks for your response, did you get a reverse osmosis system for drinking water ?
We decided to pass on getting the reverse osmosis since our fridge dispenses filtered water and we felt it was sufficient enough.
Very helpful. Thank you
Mines not recharging and I’m getting a cod 1 error on my screen
My is 20day instead of 67. How can I reset as 67days?
when a softener is working properly how salty is the treated water. I am planning to buy this model but I have blood pressure so just wanted to know salt level in the water. Thanks.
I did a manual regeneration but the brine tank did not fill up again, has it happened to you too?
Yes, this is normal.
No wonder I have rust rings in my tub, damn!
Hi, I have a Fleck 5800 LXT unit but I do not see where I can add the rust out solution. Can anyone please help? Thanks.
According to the bottle, you can add it directly to the tank.
I just used Res Up and poured straight onto the salt and the recharged it.
does distilled water matter?
We personally recommend distilled water so the minerals in your tap water don’t react with the rust out.
Do not use Rust out if you are using a rust defense or iron removing salt. It will create a gas that smells terrible and can damage your softener. This is from the manufacturer and they dont put it on the label as a warning.
Did anyone else die inside when he didn’t use a funnel? Come on man! Other than that, thanks for the video!
Ha! Pretty good.
A funnel for sure, or do it over top the trashcan, the sink….
YESSS I'm just trying to learn as a 20 year old and dude that aint a cup in measurement :( I had to stop and process lolll
I thought people use this system to Eliminate toxins from the water not add more to it!
