Rishi Sunak has promised that flights deporting asylum seekers will take off for Rwanda within 10 to 12 weeks after the bill finally passed into law following months of controversy and parliamentary ping pong.

If they say the flights will take off in 12 weeks, even if they send a few thousand off to Rwanda, at the current levels of crossings from France, a further 33,600 could arrive before wheels even leave the ground. The little-talked-about side of this agreement That it is an exchange agreement, "As we get smoke and mirrored because of a policy" so in fact, they could send 200 out on the first flight and return with 400 so there is a possibility the numbers would increase.

The Rwanda Bill is an enormous misstep by Sunak. It was few votes back from Reform, but alienates much of the centre, if not because it flies in the face of decency, then because it is enormously, grossly, painfully expensive.

Good grief hes sending our Civil Servants over to Rewanda now they have got to be there to process them as they go in!! Hes calling for volunteers because they have to be there within the month!! The Rwanda deal that we’re paying a fortune for, means for every one we send to Rwanda, we take an injured or disabled Rwandan into the U.K. While I feel totally sorry for people caught up in war zones, our NHS is not even close to coping with the strain of the illegal immigrants as it is.

- allowed net migration to increase to 2.5 MILLION
