I’m not Christian, but this song really does mean a lot to me. I think about my little brother when I hear it. He was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was three years old, had a nearly fatal seizure. And now here he is, eight years old and doing so well, I would protect him with my life.

God found me and saved me against all odds. My heart was so broken from abuse as a child and I didn't understand who He was and I didn't even believe He could exist because of all the suffering in my life and in the world. But He never gave up. He sent so many people to tell me about Himself, the God who died for me, who carried all my pain on Himself and set everything right. I rejected Him so many times. I would even argue with Christians. I was so lost and broken and I spent my life searching for love only to be disappointed time after time. All I found is that we are all broken. I began searching for the answer to everything, the meaning of life, with all my heart and one night He took me out of my body. I was in the spirit and I couldn't open my eyes but I knew Someone so powerful stood in front of me. He was so bright, the light was coming in through my closed eyelids. When my spirit went back into my body, I just knew I had to pray to Jesus. I didn't understand it and it went against my reasoning and I kept doubting. One night I just cried out to God with all my heart and I told Him I know you exist, but why is it so hard to find You? Why don't I know You? And it's as if someone told me in my heart very clearly "Read the Bible" I had so many misconceptions and biases, but I bought a Bible and opened up to the book of Matthew and then John. I cried when I read who Jesus is and believed. I know that was who I was in front of that night. From that moment, He healed me. All my broken pieces are healed. I have a joy and peace and I know true love for the first time. He was always there. It was me that wouldn't come to Him. He loves us. Sin creates brokenness because it's outside of God's perfect design for His creation. We seek to satisfy a God shaped hole in our heart with other things but I can tell you now nothing that the world offers compares to knowing Him. His presence is like breathing for the first time. Run to Him and meet the One who loves you enough to die for you.

I see so many people here talking about their relationship to Christianity and God, but this song makes me think of something else entirely. I struggle with severe OCD. It felt like I was living inside of a nightmare. I could never escape it; the intrusive thoughts came for me even in my nightmares. My partner was there through the whole thing. He never gave up on me, even when I was at my worst. He took care of me while I was going through treatment and councilling. I still struggle, and I know that OCD will probably always be a part of my life, but I also know that I'll have someone there while I'm trying to make it through ❤
I think about the moment I knew, I needed God and the feelings that would push me towards finding the answers, or that I needed to fix, to find something maybe even to prepare myself for something big. I could feel something ssying come to me to prepare you it scared me i knew it was something and it was not good. I knew in my heart it revolved around 2 people in my life. But. When it happened, I don't think I have ever been so devastated nor known pain until I faced the storm I was walking alone in. If I had not turned to God when I did, I don't think I would have found the strength to make it during the biggest tragedy I have ever known. I understand completely now the true meaning of pain and forgiveness.
6 weeks ago I lost my first child. The first child I ever carried. The Child I wished and prayed for so hard. I‘m just trying to make it through, and trying to understand why. Why me, why did this happen. Trying to come to terms with the fact that I will Never get to meet them. Never get to hold them. Never get to know the person they would‘ve become.. It is so unfair. But what I am so sure of is that God is there. Was there, through it all, and will show me the way out of this.

I lost my mother amongst much more, and I started to seek into Norse Mythology or something spiritual. I wanted to change from the lifestyle I was living. The lies I would tell, the relationships I would have before marriage, I felt disgusting. One very profound evening, I decided to learn about Jesus in depth. He spoke to me clearly and told me, “Child, your heart is in the right place, but you are seeking the wrong thing.” In that moment, I got onto my knees and I surrendered my life to Christ. I can’t begin to tell you how surreal it was the day I woke up. I placed my hand on my heart and said “Something has changed” I knew who He was so clearly in that moment. When I heard the song Amazing Grace as a born again Christian, I cried my eyes out for the first time and actually understood that song on a deeper level. Many trials and miracles have happened after that surreal evening, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Amen, God is very detail on his time. We will not be perfect but the tears i do have is for him for forgiving me ,he pick me up when i was lost. I dont want ever to be away from him. I'm in the best time of my life with God i see his glory his blessings and my heart is at peace and happier then i was in the past.
