Must've watched this video a hundred times. Billy Bragg is iconic to Brits as a champion for working folk, as well as an outstanding song writer and all around great bloke. It's a dream of mine to see American workers realize their true power and unite as one to make all of our lives better. Thanks Bill and cheers for that
The USA is certainly a country that needs to fight for better workers rights. They don’t even have the basic right to paid leave!! They get treated like cattle in most jobs, no sick pay, holiday, maternity leave. I’ve even heard that if you’re really ill and can’t go in to work, the employee has to find a replacement to cover his job! Why they haven’t rebelled earlier is a mystery to me..
Been a member of the labour Party since 1980 stood in 1984 with the miners at Castlehill and Fallin as a Student at Stirling University with so many others until the end. My leader now says his MP s shouldn't be on picket lines because we want to be a party of power. In the leadership election l voted for him because l thought he would support some basic principles to stand with those in need.If a labour MP isn't aloud to stand with a low paid worker where does that leave us.
Pragmatically I would prefer labour in government to the symbolic support of labour MP’s on the picket line. Maybe with the savage right wing press we have in the UK it’s better our MP’s work to get into government rather than being a party of protest.
Stalin not enough? How about Pol Pot, Mao, Castro, Ceausescu, Ortega, Maduro, Kim Joon-Un? Revolution was exciting when I was young. It doesn't age well, though.
@@amiteea Billy Bragg is a millionaire with mansions in England - amazing he is still worshipped as somehow Che Guevara - nothing but a cartoon character of a fake socialism

Imagine just being at a starbucks and Billy Bragg turns up
So look forward to seeing you in Sacramento. CA. We appreciate you.
Im fascinated by the concept of individual shops unionising and not the whole company/ workforce

America tbh
You might be looking for the Green Party. Labour isn’t the same as the party of the 80s. There’s only one viable left wing wing party in the UK

Labour abandoned the working class, they now only care for their Islington, woke, green agenda BS, mates
@@timnewby1546The Guardian isn’t the only paper that reports the news, Tim.

I wish I had known he was playing so close to home. Never would have guessed he’d be out here.

I thought Bill looks/Ed like one J. Corbyn.
Urrghh... fucking j corbyn - Lost the last election.
What is this song called? I can tell it's a version of "Battle cry of freedom"
nvm found it. "There is power in a union"
✊
BB sold his very nice country house by the coast in Dorset for £2,000,000 profit, a real working class hero 😂
Shhhh...dont burst the fantasy bubble...'power to the people!'😂
Ok
And?
and your point ? being 'union dosent mean Poverty ??
What about care workers and support workers the forgotten
I worked in healthcare and we had a union. Funny enough, it was the same union grocery store employees join.
This is the bloke you want on your picket line.

And then you’ll lick the feet of Donald Trump.
Well, now there’s power in AI.
Champagne socialist.. I just don't get why so many people fall for this bs
Fall for what bs?
No
Not so much anymore. Unions have been dying and declining
Resurging, you say?

It’s funny how when someone wants to argue with unionisation they always pick the people most opposed to unions as examples

All great people who had to use the iron fist to protect the workers from the enemy!
You age worse then the idea of working people organizing in a union for better wages and better lives. Togheter. That’s the truth! Waaay worse!
You think that worker solidarity has anything to do with those people?
Solidariety from Italy💪🏼
Well done billy nice one 🙏🙏🙏
