Hello Darren, I'm from np ee, recently graduated. Applied for both nus ee and ntu eee, and got accepted by both universities. Was wondering which university would you recommend? Can you share some insights on uni life? Maybe like how is it different compared to poly? And some of the difficulties and challenges you faced? Heard the math and physics are hard ?
Hi James, Congratulations on securing both offers from NUS and NTU! I'm not too sure about NTU, but I do enjoy my time in NUS :-) You have a lot of freedom (too much I would say) in University such that you really have to be self-disciplined if you want good grades. You are in control of everything, your modules that you are taking (of course they have to fulfill your graduating requirements), timetable as well as your grades. Math and physics are tough in my opinion and CAEM does help if you have taken it. It will be good to brush up on your programming skills (python) if you wish to prepare for school. The biggest piece of advice to all my juniors is to go in with an open mind. Please do not be too focused on the grades like in poly which you can easily score an A for most of the modules. Instead, try to enjoy your last phase of your education (most likely if you're not planning to get masters/phd). Hope it helps! Darren
@@DarrenLeeCSharp I see. Is university similar to poly?? In the sense where that if you listen to lectures,do tutorials and do some revisions before exam, you could score a decent grade?? or you must put in a more effort as compared to poly? Is it hard? Because I heard a lot of people struggled when they enter Uni from poly. You also said that there's a lot of free time, what did you do during your free time? did you join a cca or participate in any other activities? And did you stay in hostel? if so, would you care to describe your hostel life? And did you enjoy it? Would you also mind sharing what specialization and industry you are going to work after you graduate? Im guessing embedded? Because, during my fyp, I've been seeing you coming to block 7 to help out with the robotic project. You must be very keen in these kinds of electronics and programming stuff??
