Excellent tutorial! You also clearly explain why you opt for each of the steps so people like myself can learn from your creative process. Thanks for making this!
you're welcome! thanks for watching!
Worked great thank you Ryan!
thank you for your super thanks!!
@@RyanKingArt happy too! Your tutorials are a great help for a struggling artist like me!
I'm sure someone has already addressed this, but "MixRGB" is now called "Mix Color" and for some reason it does not show up when you search for it. You have to manually go to color / mix color
Yes, I actually made a video specifically about that: ua-cam.com/video/i4GAHxtDAsk/v-deo.html
In the new Blender update, they changed the Mix RGB node, to just the mix node. So just add the mix node, and change the Float option, to Color. Then you can use it just like the mix RGB node.
One of, if not the best source of material instructors out there. Thank you
glad you like my material tutorials. Thanks for watching!
This procedural series is awesome, keep it up!
Thanks! I will.
Can I just say I love how u clearly state what things do and how different nodes effect others
Thanks Zach! I appreciate it!
same hahaha, its just easy to understand
@@scoob7688 Thanks!
Procedural video series is really good.Make these videos as much as you can.
I will keep making them! People really seem to like them and there fun to make. Thanks!
@@RyanKingArt you use instagram where we can follow you?
@@JK-hf5wg Sorry, I don't use Instagram.
I followed along and made an absolutely stunning leather! I really cannot understand how did you possibly created that chain. I know nothing about the logic behind it, but you took me to make something amazing! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Thanks for watching!
Finally a Blender tutorial on youtube that's smart. Good work
I'm using this leather to texture the interior of my BMW model!
Cool! Hope it helps!
Thank you, Ryan, for another great procedural texture tutorial. You always give great explanations on what you're doing and why.
thanks for watching!
@@RyanKingArt
You're welcome.
Great tutorial! I added a multiply (*.25) node off the bottom ColorRamp into the Specular input to get the scales to pop a bit more vs the cracks. Looks really good! Thanks!
Thanks!
King Ryan ! top tutorial
Thanks!
Got yourself a new follower, man, keep it up !!!
Thank you so much for your support!
Thank you, my friend, for watching from Iraq🖤
Thanks for watching!
I have a scene where I've been going through my own complex leather node set ups at a rate of knots, but your much simpler one seems much better. I'll have to add a bit of personalisation for my scene, but let's see how it goes.
Cool!
Looks great, nice detail. I have a suggestion to give it a bit more realism and that is to use the voronoi to also control the roughness slightly, make it more rough in the cracks. Nice job though Ryan
Thanks! And thanks for the feedback. : )
Wow Cool Material
Thanks!!!!
Glad you like it!

I will consider it. Thanks!
procedural texturing mate!
Yep! Thanks
pretty helpful tutorial
rly Nice
Thanks!
is there a way to make the texture 3d? great video by the way :)
what do you mean by 3d? you can add displacements to materials, if that's what your wondering.
Amazing stuff mate!
Could i add some future ideas for videos?
Could you do a semi-procedural texture using blender? for example wet mud with details mixed with 3D scatted rocks and leaf's around it with also some detail textures on it.
And how to export it out in any res for games/films?
thanks! :)
Huge support!
Oh and another thing procedural metal (with optional scratches/blood, rust and other damage related things)
Thanks for the ideas! I will consider them.
used this to make a snake.
lookis like a

looks very good thank you so mucb
Cool! Thank you for watching!
Amazing! Can you make alcantara? i cant find any in the youtube tutorial....
thanks for the material idea
Can i save the texture into library and then used it in other object
Yes! You can add this material to the asset browser 👍
cheers bro
thanks!
ขอบคุณครับ
Your welcome.
Thank you for the tutorial, I just wanted to know, is there any resources you would recommend for studying and learning procedural textures in more detail? I really loved this but I want to know more about the process of how to make something else from scratch on my own.
is it possible remove those small parts of the texture that look scratched?
it would be great if you made a Dc channel where one could share random renders and share tips/tricks etc.:)
Thanks for the idea. What is a DC Channel? What does DC stand for?
@@RyanKingArt discord lol, I’m just used to say Dc :)
7:46 I see what you did there... love your tutorials though!
Namaste
Thanks! What did I do there? I changed the color ramp value?
for those whose shift+= don't work
go to Edit-> Preferences -> add-ons -> type 'wrangler' in search box
Yep, the node wrangler addon. Thanks : )
Hey, i cant seem to find the MixRGB node. Do you know what they changed it to?
in the new blender update they changed it to the "Mix Color" Node. so just use that instead
@@RyanKingArt Alright thanks!
Am I crazy? I was positive I did a Leather tutorial 2 weeks ago from you... Is a re-upload? New method?
Nope, this is the first time I did a Leather tutorial. There are other Procedural Leather tutorials on UA-cam though, so maybe you did one of those.
I ALWAYS forget voronoi texture has the the "distance to edge" option. Thanks.
Thanks for watching 👍
Anybody know if u can change the setting F1 to Distance to Edge in Redshift as well?
not sure. I don't use Redshift.
Realistic & procedural paper material please ryan. It's a request.
Alright, I will see what I can do. Thanks!
@@RyanKingArt thank you 😊
I think this texture looks even better in Eevee, too bad I use Cycles fuck lol
Yeah, it does look cool in Eevee
You wouldn't happen to have a "mold" procedural material would you? Cant find a tut for it anywhere, I can find moss, just not mold :/
No, I don't have a procedural material for that. But thanks for the idea! Maybe I can do one on that sometime.
Sorry but this looks super complicated
It might look that way, but I will walk you though the entire thing step by step. By the end, it may not seem that complex.
