Every day is an eclipse day when I dunk my Oreo in my coffee before chore time most mornings. All of our plowing is done, got some disking in a couple of days when everything dries enough. So nice to have options on your operation.
We found that bailage is great. Just try to only bail in a year what you'll use in a year an a half. I've seen so many guys make a ton of bales and before long they have a pile still that they made 4 years ago and ends up being waste. Hopefully things dry up here in NY. Tired of all this rain already. Have a good one Mike
We did about 6 years ago I wanna say. We ran a 7 shank back in the day and traded it in when we got our wheel loader. We've run this 9 shank for about 6 years now
Question I notice you and other farm channels in the colder climates still so lots of tillage. In our area piedmont NC it’s all no till, dairy’s usually do winter grain, follow with corn. Crop farmers do winter wheat with a mix or corn and soybeans. Also I seen a skidder in the background, so are you guys selling some timber?
I was in the barn feeding cows when it happened. I had a headache so I didn't feel like putting on glasses and staring at the sun. It sucks for anyone who really wanted to see it because it was so cloudy. Of course the next day was clear and beautiful!
Chiseling ahead of manure makes sense to me. Your coulter chisel takes a lot of traction, and manure can be slippery. A disk can be "lighted up" and still do it's job incorporating the manure. I have ripped ground ahead of spreading slurry manure, then disked it in. The following year when I moldboard plowed the field, I could still see the dark streaks where the manure went in the ripper shank slots. Heavy clay land, but the system worked. Great video, and what brand is your chisel?
@@mikep7810 Nice machine! I ran a JD 12 shank "mulch tiller" that we borrowed, and it made a Ford TW20 howl, but the same tractor was not bothered by a 14 shank straight chisel, no coulters.
Excelente trabajo!
It always amazes me how you and Andy Hourigan fly a drone and run the farm equipment! I always enjoy the drone shots! Thanks Mike!! 👍😎
Thanks Dennis. Distractive driving at its finest!
I really enjoy seeing a man out standing in his field!
At least I'm out standing in something!
Tay does a great job on the dairy , I watch her alot , stay safe , enjoy 2024 season.
I agree. I think she does a wonderful job
Great vid! We had about 5 minutes of shade here in northern nv. With the eclipse! Its finally warm enough to get the deere's running!

Oreos in coffee???? I guess it might be good. I don’t drink coffee but I sure like Oreos in milk. Lol
Always great to be done with the plowing. Hopefully things dry up for you
Field looks good Mike. Looking forward to planting. Be here before you know it. Take care buddy!👍
Thanks Kevin. I did like the way it plowed up. You are right about that. We'll be planting before we know it
Awesome video Mike! I can almost smell the earth.
Thanks Clint. That might be the manure you are smelling. I put it on pretty heavy in this field! LOL
@@mikep7810 🤣😄👍🏾
Good day at work! Thanks for sharing
Thank you Brian
Enjoyed riding along. Good video.
Thank you for riding along
Hey, have you been thinking about doing that POV video of you in the 4555? I just thought that would be neat to see
Yes I remember you saying that time. I have to get the accessory to mount the camera to my chest or hat so you can get the point of view

Thanks Bryan. I definitely wont keep baleage that long
It's great you're getting some plowing done
Thanks John. Its good to be out there
Fields look great mike. Trying to steer a drone and drive tractor at the same is a total pain but you do a great job.
Thanks Matt. Its not too bad. You can tell sometimes when the rows aren't as strait as they should be
Great video.. man that is turning up great! Better hurry, it’s gonna rain for the next few days.
That's ok. I got plenty of rainy day projects piled up and waiting for me too!
Mike refresh my memory did you upgrade your chisel plow I cannot remember.

@@mikep7810 I swear I’m getting senile.

Thank you. I was pretty happy with the way it fixed up
I was working oats ground yesterday, rained again today, and basically the rest of the week😢

Nice vid.. stay safe 🏴
Thank you Ian. You stay safe also
The darkness was cool but we only saw it when it was about a third eclipsed, and then the clouds rolled in

I watch all of her videos to , just watched her eclipse day video noim watching your eclipse day video 👍
Yeah I was inside the barn feeding cows when the eclipse was going on so I didn't see it

Thanks Morgan. We have a Brillion 9 shank plow. I like the job it does cutting the trash and mixing in the manure

Why aren't you using the Front Discs to chop up the Material?
The front disks are all the way down and chopping up material
Hello from Utah
Hello David
So what are you going to be planting this year?
In the field I'm plowing in this video will be corn. In general we are planting the same things we plant. Corn, soybeans, oats, alfalfa

The traffic was crazy that day. I was glad I decided to plow
