    That’s a nice assortment.
    The truth about any compounded linkage it that you give up something else to gain convenience… capacity, response, weight, leverage… there’s always a trade off.
    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Thanks for the information. Very useful. I have a 18 and 36 inch buckets with a kubota kx057-4. I found that with a 12 inch bucket there's too much dirt that doesn't seem to dump. You're going to enjoy the ripper in you get it,.

    5:30. If you have a keypad, put ur code in, don't start, press 6 and then enter it will release ur Hydraulic pressure in your lines.

      I have learned that you need to do this before disconnecting the attachment otherwise sometimes the attachment will have too much pressure locked in the lines.

    Super happy about the fact you rate the tilting bucket so highly. Just ordered a 4k pounds machine, had the choice of a tilting grading bucket, but went with the HKS XtraTilt. Now every bucket is a tilting bucket and every other attachment too. It adds 40 pounds to the arm but I am willing to pay that price for the versatility. Also the XtraTilt is now permanently connected to the hydraulic and all buckets are just dumb, passive attachments, making changing them much easier.

      It adds so much versatility to this machine!

    I have the same machine. I have a 12, 16, 20, and 24 inch bucket for diggingfootings. I also have a root ripper that works great for stump/tree removal. I bought an adapter so I can also run my auger on the excavator after I remove it from the skidsteer quick attach frame. I would really like to get one of those tilt buckets in the 36 inch size.

      PowerTilt or a dedicated tilt bucket. I love the fact that the PowerTilt goes 180° but wish there wasn’t a 12” offset in the bucket mounting position. Makes the thumb basically useless and adds even more weight to the end of the machine. I love the 48” grading bucket but a 36” would also pull a lot of weight.

    With that machine could you run a mulching drum/ grinder. I think they need like 20 gallon flow. Thx very informative. I’m looking to by a small excavator.

    XBoom QC Mate Quick Coupler Hand Clamp sold through Skidsteer Solutions makes coupling and uncoupling the hydraulic lines a breeze. EVERY machine with quick couplers should come with one!!!

    Try turning the machine off and turn the key switch to the on position with out starting the machine with safety handle down then cycle the 2nd auxiliary hydraulic thumb switch left and right to release the pressure from the 2nd auxiliary lines.

      That’s the way it works on my Kubota BX tractor when I’m putting on my grapple.

      I’ll give it a shot. I’ve tried it before and no luck. Sometimes it connects flawlessly and other times it is near impossible. The Bobcat T650 releases pressure when you push on the fitting.

      Agreed. Gotta twiddle the thumb button until the pressure is dead with the machine on, but not running.

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve tried it before when hooking up. But perhaps I need to do it before I disconnect as well so the hydraulic fluid isn’t locked up in the attachment. I wish the connections were the same as the T650. When you push on the fitting to release you can hear it depressurize.

      I’ve used in on several jobs. It really depends on the application. Typically I use it for technical jobs or when a normal bucket won’t work.

      I started following the advise from The Bobcat Guy on UA-cam. You have to turn off the machine. Turn the key back on and cycle the hydraulic lines to release the pressure on both the lines and the attachment. Works great now!

    A very nice review here. I'm about to buy my first excavator and a question I have is are all these attachments available aftermarket at a better price than Bobcat or do you need to mostly go with Bobcat. Thanks

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  2 роки тому

      Bobcat has some quality attachments. There are several aftermarket tilt bucket options as well as the Hydra-Tilt bucket from Bobcat at a lower cost. I have yet to find any aftermarket options at a significantly lower price without lower quality. I have yet to find an aftermarket replacement for PowerTilt. The rotations of swing is much higher than other options. One thing I would consider is a dedicated tilt bucket so I could maintain the use of the thumb. The RBC is aftermarket and I have also looked at a ripper attachment that is aftermarket.

    If you look in the manual( yes we are men and not suppose to do that but sometimes its a good idea!!!) . Believe there is a way to release pressure in there easily to release pressure for hoses.

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  Рік тому

      I believe the new machines with the upgraded control panel have the feature you are talking about. But this model you have to cycle the hydraulic when the machine is off or crack a hose.

    Do you wish you would have got an E 43 for heavier lifting and digging tree stumps?

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  Рік тому

      Yes, sometimes I do wish I got an E42. But it is really nice to have the zero tail swing and we have definitely used it. But it does get light in the rear and we have definitely pushed it to its limits.

    What pin are you using on your Hydro head? I have e35 with the x change. It does not come with a pin, and I need to get a pin to be able to use it.

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  Рік тому

      When I bought the PowerTilt from the dealer it came with a pin. Seemed pretty standard. I know some machines don’t come equipped with the hydraulic x change and are pins from the factory. Should be the same pin. The dealer should have one. Or any place that sells pins or can make a pin for heavy equipment.

    Got me sold on the tilt bucket, but I would have added a counter weight with it

    • @ThriftyGarage
      @ThriftyGarage  2 роки тому

      It might work better on a machine that’s not a zero tail swing. Like the E42. I don’t think I can add any more counter weight. I’ve learned to work with it. But it’s definitely heavy. But super versatile. Way more than I expected! It’s probably hooked up 50% of the time.

    Not sure if anyone in the comment has said it already but if you put your safety arm down and with the machine off turn the key one click and it will release the pressure for the lines. Just make sure your arms on the ground.

      We have tried releasing the machine pressure but sometimes the pressure is in the attachment. We have cracked lines before, but now use the QC Mate Quick Coupler Hand Clamp | XBoom (works great!). I heard for every 10°F temperature increase or decrease there is a significant change in the internal hose psi. Makes since to me.
