I went on a nationally syndicated radio show on the day that post positions were drawn and told Scott Siglar that Animal Kingdom would win by daylight! All Scott would say is "how would it be possible for a horse that has never run on dirt be able to win the most grueling horse race in the sport of horse racing? I explained how he would do it and at the end of our conversation he was still not buying it. Everytime after that when I would speak to Scott on air he had a very negative attitude towards me. One more thing> On the Monday after the race, I called in as instructed and before I came on-air, he began by saying that in the history of KKOB there has never been a greater response from his audience as there was from my phone call leading up to the derby 2011.
He ran very green down the stretch. He nearly covered as much turf horizontally (weaving back and forth sideways) as he did moving toward the finish line. If he ran straight . . . like Nehro did . . . he'd have won by 5-6 lengths.
John Velazquez is not a foreigh jockey. He is Puertorrican. US Citizens since 1917. Get your history courses right. And needless to say, a hell of a jockey! Check today. He is on a hall of fame.....
Okay...-.- So what if they're foreign? I would LOVE to see you ride an unpredictable 1500 pound animal and stay on the on it for over a mile while standing up while going 36 miles per hour throughout most of the race and then 45 miles per hour down the stretch and not lose the whip as you switch sides and when you're done with the race your legs will fall apart from the work. Oh yes they can get te job done, look at Ron Turcotte won the TC in '73 and hes from Canada!

You have to remember that is was only his 5th start. But I defiantly agree with you!
