    The idea of being thankful for all the people who bring a cup of coffee to us is absolutely fascinating and shows how humble you really are Jacob. Love it! ❤❤❤

    Todd, please do more videos with Kubi. She seems to be the perfect compliment to your work. I don't know how y'all met but the Gods must be smiling down on you two. Kubi is just precious!

      I have the exact same feeling. They seem to compliment each other so well and the fact they’re both from separate pagan backgrounds trying to find commonality with their own personal world views makes it all the more special

    Love this series. Such a beautiful blend of both the Nordic and Celtic faiths. Although there’s never really any conflict between the modern day pagan religions I do feel we should come together more, even if it’s just to discuss and share different ideas, beliefs and philosophies. As a general pagan community it can only ever make us stronger

    I love the discussion! I’ve been trying to find what I believe to be true spiritually and you have been one of the best educators I’ve gotten into the habit of listening to. Thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort. You’re helping people at a deep level that you should be proud of. (Also, very excited for your Scotland piece to come out!)

    I enjoyed this. Thanks. I think when we connect with nature as pagans, we can't help but overlap with shamanic practices too. On another note, I also heard Kubi sing. She has a lovely voice a d so go g presence. Might be cool if she sang a theme song for this podcast.

    A friend was visiting while this was playing, and we both were struck how the conversations people are having today are the same ones that seem to happen every decade. It’s like every generation is rediscovering the same things. The more things stay the same, right?

    I don't think cultural appropriation fits within the shamanic worldview. If we are all divine and interconnected, it shouldn't matter who we learn from when we are all on a similar path.

      For the most part, it's a racist idea that is used to stop white people from doing things.
      And i really mean that. Ive seen people "educate" white people for wearing braids, or using the wrong divination techniques, or having the wrong kinds of make-up.
      I wish more pagans would realize how racist it is to keep using the terms. Other cultures don't have this childish my food cant touch attitude.

    Jacob, there's one thing you need to fix in your videos: the volume. The sound is very quiet, I need to double my normal volume to make it... kind of hearable. Not a big deal maybe, but still, would be nice to have it fixed 🙂

    That's the same thought I have had about the term shaman. If ever someone calls me shaman or asks if I am a shaman, I answer depending on the seriousness of the question. Of course I don't claim anything, but amongst all 9 of my brothers I throw self aware jokes around.

    If things like the spirits of plants are real, then do things like cultural appropriation exist?
    People dont own the spirit world. They don't own the practices. Those things have a life of their own, and act accordingly.

    • @rich5774
      @rich5774 9 місяців тому +1

      I would say that people in a way do own the practices, based on their heritage and how one connects with their spirituality and the world around them. Of course we don't remotely 'own' The Spirit world, and only have a small understanding

    • @crushinnihilism
      @crushinnihilism 9 місяців тому

      @@rich5774 I tend to agree. Which is going to get slillery because that's an argument for Folkism.
      The practices being created by Europeans reconstructioning our stolen heritages become closed practices.

    • @rich5774
      @rich5774 9 місяців тому

      @@crushinnihilism I think everyone has got their own path to follow with this faith. There are those who will follow a more universal, open practice akin to other large religions, and those who will stick to to a more personal, ancestral faith. I think there's room for both, without turning it into a Catholics v Protestant situation. I'm sure indigenous North Americans, who practice their ancestral faith don't get hung up about such issues as many European Pagans seem to

    Paganism will be a big thing again. I am the re-incarnated Eve who was the Olympian Athena. God spent a lot of time telling me. I'm here for a reason yet to be revealed.
