I don't think people really say these things to themselves, it's more rationalization to use, but when you start rationalizing, you've already been triggered. A simple thing that helped me was simply to write down my intention regarding PMO every single morning. Today is day 14 of NNN and I haven't had any issues, which is uncommon for days 5-15

A lot of what goes on inside of the mind of an addict doesn’t take place as rational direct thoughts, until we bring those thoughts into conscious awareness. We do this through tools like the remember letter which sounds like a similar tool to writing your intentions around PMO each morning.
