- This is a regeneration of a BMW DPF using an app called B-TOOL EXPERT.
NOTE: ITS ONLY DONE WHILST DRIVING WILL NOT WORK WHILST STATIONARY(PARKED UP NOT DRIVING).
DONE THIS VIDEO TO SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY FROM GETTING RIPPED OFF BY DEALERS AND GARAGES.
You need the B-Tool Expert app.
USB OBD Cable that connects to the vehicle.
OTG Connector that connects to your device that has the app on and to the USB OBD Cable.
The cable is a OBD K+D Can Cable designed for BMWs only.
Alternatively you can use an OBD BLUETOOTH adapter this will vary on the adapter which one will work. I used a cable for a stable connection.
Vehicle temperature must be at least 70c.
Soot really starts to burns at around 500 degrees. Do with caution.
Please follow the video for instructions: the only part that I’ve not recorded is when I was doing the driving to actually make the REGEN active.
When it’s active the you will have 2 green arrows instead of 2 X’s.
Warm vehicle up.
Connect cables.
Open App B-Tool Expert.
Establish connection via settings.
Read Engine Codes.
Clear Engine Codes.
Click on DPF function.
Read values.
Click DPF Regeneration.
Confirm Regeneration.
Then drive it will commence itself indicating with a green arrow that it’s regenerating.
Can’t promise it will do all diesel BMW’s choices I was offered ON THE APP:

2 Series F22/F23, F45/F46
3 Series E46. E90/E91/E92/E93. F30/F31, F32/F33/F82
5 Series E39. E60/E6. F10/F11

Thanks for the video this worked really well, I took my car to a mechanic who said it needs 6 new glow plugs, glow plug module and thermostat. I know he was trying to pull the wool because I had all that done recently. The cable cost £30 from Amozon but it was cheaper than the £600 the mechanic quoted me.
RamLanda this video was exactly what sorted my problem out with my e92, I rang many DPF specialist they said the best option for you is to gut the DPF and code it out and the cheapest quote I was offered was £300 however if anyone has BMW try this solution out from the video.

Thank you for you video. When you have forced/asked the DFP regeneration, you haven't stop the engine, and done a trip 20min, in order to "do" this regeneration ?
How do you know that this is just the DPF not the CAT / Soot filter too? the CAT Soot filter is further up the pipe (closer to the engine). I have just taken my DPF off and it still comes up with same message :(
Can you set it all up first so you just click one button to start the regen , so I can have it ready as I drive to a motorway then once I get there I can start it ?

The OTG cable is 2.0 usb.
when you first got the cable did you have to set it up first ? or did you just plug it into the car and plug it into your tablet and off you went ?
The cable works straight away just have the correct position of the switch selected on the cable and correct settings on the software like year, model, engine and connection.
hello i have a problem on my particle filter i have a fap light that lights up on my dashboard i change mo. particle filter following a warning light and also the EGR thermostat and the exhaust sensor
the continue indicator light comes on tell me with you solved your problem I have the carly tool and tells me that I have a fault 00480A 00481A thank you

@@funkanic06 if you Google B Tool expert you’ll get loads of link playstore has a genuine app but there are loads of third party hacked versions that work but sometimes have virus’s. The choice is yours at your own risk.

Thanks for the reply not have had time to do it since the lockdown just got a question what symptoms where u experiencing with a blocked dpf did you not have any power and was it struggling to get over 80mph?
@@Adam-be1rd hi Adam, I didn't lose any power or was restricted on speed. Just got a message on the dash about particle filter.
If my car e90 320d goes into limp mode can i still do a regeneration?
It really depends on why it's gone into limp mode as in what are the fault or faults.
Most likely if you can clear any faults temporarily then it should regen. If faults persists this will be one of the reasons it's not allowing the vehicle to regen normally whilst driving.

Check your Exhaust backpressure if it's to high car Will not regenerate and go to limp mode when pressure reach 650mb

I’ve got the same message on my bmw - I’ve tried driving the car and holding the revs for 30 mins but no change. Do you reckon the regeneration will clear the fault? Did the same things happen to you as with mine
You need to scan the vehicle for any engine codes as they will prevent the regeneration. If you have permanent engine codes these will prevent the regeneration.
It is stupid because if your dpf light is on your dash, it wont do the regen, as RamLanda said you have to clear all the codes and then so the regen.
So this why mine won't go got the dpf warning and seat belt restraint so they need to be taken off befor I can do this
Where did you buy the cable?
My soot read 71.6g ash 8.5g its said 100% on that bimmer tool but bmw has give me no warninngs that its blocked at all its only when i checked it on this app i see its high it dont look like its had the dpf removed for a deleted one im thinking has it been smashed out and deleted that way or it does need a clean

Sorry, you need to continuously drive the vehicle. The exhaust temperature rises to around 500 then the blue level content line will eventually start to go down.
Lol wrong Exhaust temp reach 681 Celcius when performing regen
