    Great info on launch data! Thanks for sharing. I just watched your last expectation video and was wondering about couple things still.
    Looking at the day 1 stats, did you still have 700-800 wishlists on launch day or more? Also did you get 10 positive reviews right away on launch day?
    Looking forward to hearing more! Congrats on your release!

    Awesome it's going good for you, I was wondering if you had any tips on 3d modeling and other stuff like that, like any good tutorials anything would help. Thanks!

    • @Hamunoo
      @Hamunoo  4 місяці тому +1

      Honestly just starting, I'm not the best modeler but when I try to make higher quality models I can (choose not to cause I can't texture good)
      But really just learning whatever software you use, I use blender. Just spend time watching random tutorials and following along then try recreating the tutorial without following it.
      That is mainly what helped me a lot

    What did you use to make the game? To setup the deal with steam was all done via email? you use opengl? Maybe see if you can make the game multiplayer for the sequel..... ok good luck I might get into game development but a bit rusty with programming.... nice to hear indie devs making it...

    Im a content creator but I watch this content for motivation 😊

  • @PHeMoX
    @PHeMoX 3 місяці тому +1

    Honestly, the refund stuff is so easy to prevent just by providing much more content for the money involved, because if a game is this short, it may not be worth money to most people. It competes with free games with dozens if not hundreds of hours of potential play time. It competes with paid games for the same cost with much more playtime. Honestly, as much as I think it is bad for someone to refund _after_ playing the full game, it's not really an end consumer issue. It's a content issue. Also, people can have multiple reasons why they refund a game.

    • @Hamunoo
      @Hamunoo  3 місяці тому

      The refunds aren't an issue and aren't something I am focused on fixing. The main purpose of the game was to learn and fully finish a project as a developer.
      There are also PLENTY PLENTY of $5-$10 games out there that only give about 1 hour of AMAZING GAMEPLAY playtime. I am 100% okay if someone refunds that has less than 2 hours of playtime, I expected this an am okay with it. Although I wouldn't say it's an content issue because some players have found 10-20 and some even have 30+ hours of playtime. The main story line is only about an hour. You can have a few hours of fun in freeplay unlocking everything. I think it's more of players beating the story and then wanting to refund before time runs out (based on the refund notes I get from players).
      Although in my next game this is something I will focus on and allow the player to have several hours of enjoyable content.

    Hi Hamuno, thank you for the personal and helpful video. I noticed a somewhat large UA-cam channel made a video of your game about a month ago (Drae's "I played a totally normal game about shooting hamsters") with over 150k views. Did this result in any noticeable boost in sales?

    • @Hamunoo
      @Hamunoo  2 місяці тому +1

      Great question! That was after I made this video, although no. He played the video and I probably only got about 5 - 10 extra sales from his 150,000 views. I can't see the exact although from his video I could corelate the view dates with the sale dates and based on my daily average prior it was not much at all.
      I do believe this is because my game is a game where IF you watch it then it feels as if you played it as you have seen on the devices the game has to offer etc.
      Although I feel as if games like Among Us or Lehtal Company are the type of games that content creators help boost a lot.

    Now, in order to maintain the universal balance, you need to release the next game where you have to play with hamsters!
    Build wheels for them, feed them, collect colorful hamsters and cross them. Hamsters should sing songs to you. Spread the player's name in poop and generally do all sorts of hamster things. Well, of course, hamsters should be cute fluffies. It seems to me there will be 10 times more sales. %)

    • @Hamunoo
      @Hamunoo  2 місяці тому

      I think it was well worth it! As I was able to get a game under my belt and that was only first months sales, if we account for the current sales I am at it was well over minimum wage at around $56/hour based on the 1 month of work at 40 hours a week which would be incorrect to say I put 40 hours a week.

      @@Hamunoo usually working for yourself is not worth it because you are limited to the number hours in your day for labour. Take into account, tax, pension, savings, paid holiday, cost of living paid sic leave, health care and other expenses, time with family and work life balance, it usually doesn't turn out well.
