Incredible food tour guys!! Those egg and string hoppers look delicious but my favourite has to be the curry with rice. That was to die for. We can’t wait to see all of your Sri Lankan food adventures ❤️
My mother used to make milk coffee on rainy days for me, it’s not the usual English coffees. Sri Lankan milk coffee is different, but could be very sweet if you’re used to americano or your coffee bitter.
They were sooo good. Eating with your hands is definitely a must and honestly let's you experience the food in such a different way. You should try it the next time you make something with rice😉
We've been enjoying our time in the country so much, the food, countryside, and of course the people have all been amazing. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting😊
Great video sharing delicious street food of Sri Lanka 😁 What a special experience to watch the food being prepared and sampling the fresh chutney, and love those ultimate bites! Wishing you safe travels and a great week ahead! 🤍
Thanks so much, Lynds! Sri Lanka has been incredible to us so far. Tasting all that fresh food was such a treat, and all the coconut in the dishes is a dream 😋 Thanks for watching and commenting! A great week ahead to you as well 🧡
Hey, hungry two! 😊 I was nicely surprised with a Sri Lankan food episode just after the Indonesian McDonald's one.✨️ I have been looking for savory pancake recipes from time to time and catching a glimpse of how an egg hopper was cooked was really interesting. The chutneys and side dishes to eat with them are new ideas for me to explore. The rose water drink looks so pretty! 😊 Moving along the video, Chris' slight coughing just proves that there's no kidding around when they say "spicy" over there. 😆 Very nice episode, guys! See you two next meal. ✨️🫰🏻😊
Hey Cris! We're glad you enjoyed the first of our Sri Lanka food adventure! The egg hoppers were really nice, sometimes they break the yolk and others they leave it runny, but either way it's such a nice snack any time of day to be honest. Having them with a few spicy sides kicks the whole dish up a notch as well. We love how they use so much coconut here! Haha and yes, if someone says it's spicy, it's usually spicy 😝 No joke! Thanks for watching and for your comment, Cris. See you next meal! ☺️
Colombo looks like such a beautiful city! The " lump rice" looked delicious 😋. It's really neat to watch the whole processes involved in the food production.
@@ZaW-fc2bb It is written as "Lamprais" and not ""Lumpri rice" 🙂 It has been noted that Lamprais is not a Dutch creation, but had been inspired by the Dutch, who brought some of the recipes with them from Indonesia where the VOC had their headquarters.

King coconut is sweater than regular coconut. If not sweat then it is not ripe yet. When the coconut is ripe you will be able to see the white coconut meat inside. King coconut water taste better when it ripe half. Hard to tell from outside. If your coconut meat has a jelly like texture with 2mm thick then it is half ripe. That is the best condition to eat.
Tears in my eyes.... I miss this for 17 years ,thank you so much specially that beautiful lady the way she eats.. same I would eat too when I was in this beautiful mother country, thanks ❤❤
Nice to see that you both are enjoying eating the food using your fingers by hand like Sri Lankans do when eating Sri Lankan cuisine including Rice and Curry. 👍

Hi I think what they did was to introduce what we as Sri Lankans commonly eat. They never talked about roots of any foods, FYI falooda is very popular in Sri Lanka. So they introduced it to anyone coming to sri lanka to try SRI LANKAN made falooda. Even dutch don't have lumprice today. If you are to talk about roots and history of foods even water was introduced by some people. So kudos to them for introducing what we as Sri Lankans eat regularly when we go out to eat. Any tourist who are visiting Sri Lanka should definitely try all the food items shown in the video as they all have a touch of Sri Lankan flavour.
