SATURDAYS AT THE SALON

Although Women's History Month ended, this is a reminder that we honor Black Women every day. We honor the love for Black hair. We honor the 8 hour days in the salon our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and cousins endured with smiles on their faces and pride in their hearts. We pay homage to the weekly ritual and rite of passage that were an integral part of our community. We honor the space we created for ourselves to revel in everything from news and the latest gossip, to the love and bonding essential to sister and womanhood. We honor and affirm divine Black femininity.
