  • The Cast of "The Waltons" Share Terrible Memories
On the surface, The Waltons were a portrait of the classic American Family. They were almost too wholesome to be believable at times but we loved them anyway. They had the core values of honesty, integrity, and loyalty and they seldom strayed far from practicing them in every area of their squeaky clean lives.
The Great Depression raged on and much of the country was feeling the dark cloud of economic despair, but the Waldens would stick together and make do with what they had. We laughed with them and we cried with them. They became extended members of many viewers' families.
Behind the facade of the happy family there lurked many-a-secrets when the cameras were no longer running. Find out who was secretly a communist and who couldn't stay away from the bottle. Discover which daughter would bear it all on the pages of Playboy only to resent the decision for years to come. We will also reveal how the show's producers betrayed the trust of the cast by mistreating the child actors.
Strife and scandal abound behind the scenes of The Waltons, and the cast will finally come out and tell-all. Subscribe to Facts Verse for more!

D'yah know why we all loved/still love them? It's because somehow we know that, that is how life was meant to be lived. Character flaws and all...there is nothing better than having your support team around you close at hand, because we all need someone to haul our sails in
and set the boom when the breeze blows strong and the fog turns black. When finding our way when
your compass won't run true and the sky is as lost as you are! In those moments when your steerage is so
overcome by the rip tide you can't run a true coarse and the waves threaten to pitch pole your 40 footer into a rubber toy!
That's when we KNOW real love and affection...when truth flows like a faucet and tears flow like rain.
Home! That's the place I like the best!
Home on a wee farm...on solid ground with family who care and know who they are!

You also missed a very important part to one of the children, Erin which either during the show or after it went off the air, decided to get breast implants, but leaked into her body and she wound up and got diagnosed with lupus. And she went all over the world to talk to women and discouraged them from making the same mistake.

5:44 error: the narration says Mary Ellen was the youngest daughter - Elizabeth was the youngest. 8:24: the mountain we see from the porch is not on a backlot, though the house was, it is real and is in Los Angeles near Warner Bros studios (the other side of it features the famous Hollywood sign) the house was built and positioned facing it so the mountain or hill could be glimpsed thru the trees to give the impression it was the Blue Ridge Mountains. Where the house was is now a car park but most of the rest of the lanes are still there including Ike's store and small lake. The interiors of all the sets used in each episode were filmed on Stage 26 (160 feet long by 135 feet wide and is next door to Stage 25 where The Big Bang Theory was recorded). I thought Little House had superior stories but have affection for this series as well! How powerfully affecting television was in our youth!

There were a lot of people that flirted with communism in the 1930's when the rich were still rich despite the Depression and most people were just getting by. It was truly a horrible time and a lo of people gave up hope in capitalism and democracy since they felt left out by both, Luckily we had a president like FDR who understood the plight of most of the country and had the willingness to take measures to restore the hope of the people and enable them to create work and dignity.

This all is very old for us who watch the Waltons. Will Geer took up botany that I heard while waiting to get work on TV. That is why you see him name plants and trees and keep a small tree limb with leaves in his hands a lot. I didn't hear any of them complain about bad memories either. Toni who played Jason's wife on the show was his real wife and now they are divorced and he remarried.
I watch Judy on her UA-cam channel. She talks about what she remembers of her experience. Not all of them were bad. We all knew about Ellen Corby. And the relationship between Michael and Ralph. They were bad at timelines. I don't know why the 7 kids had families so young when they showed their TV movie when JFK was shot. They ignored some former casts on those movies eliminating Mary Ellen's son John-Curtis in the TV movies and Ben and Cindy's son Charlie.

Indeed Judy Norton did play the oldest, very well indeed. Probably most folks have unrevealed stuff. However, the Waltons still best show ever on the air. Strong values portrayed and beloved characters. Each actor and actress knows and understands any discrepancies between real and unreality.

A common goof that many shows have is that the hair styles are of the era that the show was made not of the era that is supposed to be set in.

I disagree they were pretty accurate as I have old photos of my mother's hairstyle and if they were showing modern styles then Olivia probably would had a beehive hairstyle as that was pretty popular with women in the 70s.

Others we did not and we do not know if they are true are made up for this controversial video? I personally very strongly feel that the actors privet lives are absolutely none of our business as long as it does not interfere with the work they are hired to do!!!!

My sainted parents thoroughly enjoyed the waltons, as the show closely resembled their lives during the great depression, had they known the truth about Will Greer and Ellen Corby, they would have turned off the show and never watcged again, this reveal just demonstrates how wicked and hypocritical hollywood actualy is and how, many youg people in this country have been led astray by that hypocracy, it also shows us the true side of the news media and the democrate, and most of the republican parties, it is truly amazing this country has lasted as long as it has.
