At 22:17 the kart's engine seems to cut out. Every time I've driven DMAXs at Daytona, the engine does that exact same thing at that exact same corner. Is it the rears locking up? Should I try to avoid it or is it ok to do, reliability wise and speed wise?
Hey mate, being heavy on the brakes definitely increases the chance of the kart cutting out. I've seen people do it before and then struggle to switch their kart again, so from a reliability wise you should try to avoid it! Speed wise, if you do it correctly, it can be ever so slightly faster, but not worth doing it if you find it difficult to do it consistently.
Dante Dhillon cheers Dante. I’m heading out there again with some mates this Tuesday afternoon to do some DMAX practice so will definitely have a go at this. Last time I almost got it perfect but occasionally would get some massive rear rotation so gotta be careful. Your videos are great 👍
Dante Dhillon ah wasn’t sure who you were. I was the guy with yellow gloves and grey/yellow race suit with a black helmet. Managed to set a 47.8 so was happy with that. Still loads of time to improve though. So many yellow flags and had to change kart halfway through for what I think was an exhaust issue? Did you find out what happened to my kart (I think 131?)
@@alexandrosjones Hahha I knew which one you were as I checked you through and dealt with your kart change 😂 yea blown exhaust, usually caused by contact or kerbing or just something coming loose!
Btw 13:53 was the fastest lap

Next time you go down the straight, make sure you tuck in under the steering wheel
How annoying were the kids overtaking under yellows in qually!! Lol
Ahaha very annoying! You think them watching a video and being told what to do verbally would help them get it into their brain!
Most don't get the memo
