Thanks for this video 👍🏻 I live about 70 minutes drive from Duxford and was gutted when I saw it was moving to Leeds East 4 hours drive away from me here in Kent . I binned off the idea of Legends to drive the 2 hours to RIAT instead . Then I decided to look into accommodation possibilities for Legends (something I never do for U.K. airshows, I always like to attend and be back home same day) I worked out with a break in the drive and accommodation for 2 nights I could do it and did ! So glad I changed my mind , the Sunday display was fantastic and the people of North Yorks refreshingly friendly.
Fantastic footage! Sadly I couldn’t make it last year but can’t wait for Sywell this year, if the weather holds it’ll be an incredible weekend! Loving your other videos too, and subscribed!
Thankyou so much for sharing..Such Quality Footage..I was there Saturday, despite the Rain n thunder storms,it was an amazing day,you have captured it wonderfully.Regards from Scotland
Was there all day Saturday and despite the weather it was awesome, but it ended too soon because the storms cleared and there was plenty of flying time left. Watched Sunday from my garden as I live five miles away. Really hope this event comes back to CF next year!
Was there on Saturday in the thunderstorms - no Balbo but most of the planes were up at some point. Not many trade stalls, food obviously expensive but fish and chips from the stall were good. Definitely going again next year but will keep an eye on the weather and not book the tickets until a day or so before
Was desperate to go until I got offered a big gig yesterday. All I can say is after you play one you’re erm, up quite late! So pleased to see this. Thank you. Paul 👍
Not good as i missed it due to bad weather on Saturday. I can't help but think Duxford were mad to let legends go, but it's great that they are now at Church Fenton as it makes it a lot easier for a lot of us to get to. I was at 2016 Flying Legends at Duxford and i honestly think getting out with the mad rush at the end of the show is far easier at Church Fenton
At the end of the war, The Spanish bought the bf109 fighter but never got the Daimler Engine, so they gave it a Merlin as replacement! And this is why the strange look in front. When retired The English bought a number of those for a "Battle of Britain" film in I think the seventies?
Much to the frustration of the organizers, the traditional ‘first weekend in July’ Flying Legends slot was unavailable at Church Fenton this year, having already been booked by a GA trade show. Other weekends were also impossible for a number of logistical reasons and the only available dates clashed with the large Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) air show at RAF Fairford. While this was much to the chagrin of enthusiasts, it is worth remembering that this was not a decision to deliberately clash with RIAT. The TFC team was faced with two choices - either run the event when they did or don’t run it at all! While this did result in late confirmation of the show - by which time many loyal Flying Legends fans and traders had already paid for tickets and accommodation at RIAT - the organizers have promised a return to the usual dates from 2024 onwards.
Thanks for this video 👍🏻

Duxford's loss is Church Fenton gain. This is amazing to watch have ro put this Airshow in my calender for next year...

Wonderful. Legends looks very much at home at Church Fenton. Long may it continue!
just gorgeous ! 0:22 that P.38 looks sensational from this angle !

Will come to this next year. Will it be at Church Fenton?
Yes, this is their new home! :)

I agree with you but I think with a capacity crowd Church Fenton would have the same end of display ‘bun fight’ to get out .
This footage is brilliant, what camera do you use?
Great collection of WW2 aircraft, and great camera work. Microphone needs a wind-guard.

Indeed. 1969 :)

Great to have this show at Church Fenton, but i wish the dates didn't clash with RIAT every year...

Wow what camera have you used here
Looks like you were stood in also the same spot as me the day before. Sadly the weather was much worse! Still enjoyed it though.
There on Saturday. Gutted, as I’m sure they canned the last 1 hour plus of flying prematurely
Duxford is getting less fun now that IWM london is in charge.
Fantastic day!
