My theory on DC is that it is (and you alluded to this) a "dark world" in physical and mental setting, which is a very hard world to film for the mass market. Marvel is the light and supernatural inverse of that, which is super fun and entertaining. I also heard this from someone: "Marvel are superhumans trying to be normal and DC are normal people trying to be superhuman."
I long for good DC movies. I love these. Keep them up!
