I am a recent grad from college and have a Security+ cert under my belt already and I'm about to take an interview for a Cybersecurity Consultant position but the position is newly created and doesn't have a description of duties yet. So when I searched for "Cybersecurity Consultant Job Descriptions" yours was the first one I saw and it gave a great top to mid level view of what I might need to brush up on. I really like the aspect of dealing with people to help with their needs since I enjoy communicating the intricacies of cybersecurity to those who may not have a technical background. I heard from co-workers that I am a rare IT guy because I am so extroverted ( a misconception of IT professionals, I know) and actually like to deal with people. Maybe this career path might up my alley.
Probably you are not doing technical IT but some of soft IT stuff. I guarantee if you spend 10 years 12 hours daily on coding you will not want to speak to anyone

Nice explanation. I have a question, I do not have a bachelor's degree or none of that, but I bought a course on Udemy and it is Business consultant. In order for me to land a job on cyber security Consultant must I have years doing technically work and operation even though I have no experience??

I’m literally about to get my bachelors degree in hospitality and tourism management but from taking courses like economics i see where the US is heading with cryptocurrency and how vulnerable it may be to get hacked and loose all your money … this may be something i will get another degree in and start a career
Yes! Bootcamps are great for getting you into the door as a cybersecurity analyst or consultant. Look for a bootcamp that will assist you with career coaching and job placement.

I would say to list your cybersecurity projects under the experience section on your resume. For people who are newer to cybersecurity, how can hiring managers expect you to have working experience? We can't. So, list those projects like "setting up a virtual lab" or "configuring a Cisco firewall in PacketTracer" and be ready to discuss the cybersecurity aspects of those projects. I hope this helps!
