- Welcome to the first race of 2024 CJC YB season! 100-mile race from Frystown PA. I did not expect much given the poor preparation I had done for them, partially (or largely) due to bad weather. 5 birds are still MIA as of Monday morning. I did not lose any birds for the first couple of races last year, which contrasts last year's training with this year's.
Have you considered using a dropper correctly, sorry but the trapping was sooooo bad, none of your birds here looked like they were racing, certainly not racing to the loft. The location you have, no birds should be landing on your house roof.
I agree they need more trap training for sure. I have some tall trees in the backyard and my backyard is one story lower than the ground. So it's difficult for them to land directly on the loft especially when they fly in a large flock. Some birds do better individually as you may have seen in the video: they can dive from the side onto the loft. I cut down some trees in the backyard last year to make their landing easier. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion! It's a very valid one. I'll see what I can do to improve. Cheers!
@blancloft love your videos, please do keep them coming. Look forward to next week 🙌
Nice video. Hey where u get ur metal aviary’s u got I need to buy some??
@@abcloft302 Thanks! CDE cages.
Your birds look very healthy, I'm guessing you don't keep them tight on food, that's good they will last the season much better and become good old birds, then you can fly them on widow hood lol ♥️👍👍
Thanks! I do control the feed and only feed them once per day. I'm using less barley since some of them are molting, and with exercise regular feed is fine.
Great job they look very well
In fact it didn't look like the race took anything out of them at all, I think when the distance gets up a bit further your team will realy start to Excel, I hope so anyway, atvb
@@englishbullterrier847 That's right. 100 miles is not a tough race and if the birds are healthy and well trained, it should not pose any problem to them. I hope they will do well for longer races(>200 miles), which is more reputable for some people.
看状态是被老鹰追过。
第一只?
GREAT JOB! Can't wait to see if that RED can do damage!!!!!
Great job Lawrence! You placed very high inbthe Combine, awesome. Your birds did good, the trapping will improve with the distance.
@@MaydisLoft Thanks buddy!
Nice returns, however, I don't agree at all to flying with two different clubs in the combine just be able to enter 50 birds against everybody else's 25 bird limit. Sorry, but that's considered "mob" flying in my book.. That's JMHO though.
Return was okay. I did not lose any birds in the first couple of races last year. I don’t mind being called a mob flyer😂. There are quite a few in CJC flying for multiple clubs just to test out their birds. Entering 50 birds does not give you any advantages. It only takes one good bird to win. I wish I knew that bird for every race I enter, which would save me a lot of time and money.
@@blancloft .. You're missing the whole point about what pigeon racing is all about along with learning how to be a good handler of birds. Throwing a large amount of birds into the basket and hoping to get a couple of good returns isn't being a good flyer. Learning to pick and choose a small number to send to the races by handling them and knowing how they feel in the hand will give you a better chance at hitting the race sheet. That's what it's all about. Not sending a mob and hoping for something to step up to the plate on a particular race. Hence the phrase.. Quality, not quantity. A 25 bird limit is put in place for a reason.. Just my two cents worth.
@@ausfuhrpramienjagar that’s not my objective at all. All roads lead to Rome. I hope you respect my way of doing things as much as I do for your comments.
@@blancloft .. I do respect you, however, the point is you have 25 more chances than the other flyers in the combine to get a few more good birds placing high on the sheet out of those extra 25 birds that they themselves aren't getting to fly. You have 50 birds on the truck and they only have 25 max, that is if they send the limit. Doesn't take a PhD to figure out the mathematics. That's all I'm saying..
@@ausfuhrpramienjagarI do have a PhD degree, but I still disagree. There is no scientific evidence that proves flying 50 birds has a better chance of winning than flying 25 birds. That’s the beauty of the sport: no one is guaranteed to win no matter what birds and pedigree you have, how good and reputable you are as a handler, how well the birds have flown previously. 25 more birds is nothing compared to ~2K birds in the Combine. Furthermore, CJC does not restrict people from flying birds with multiple clubs. If mob flyers had consistently won, they would have been banned long time ago.
Birds did good, maybe less feed will get them to trap quicker. Great channel, love the lofts setup. Thank you for sharing
Thanks buddy! I only feed them once per day and I'll reduce a bit the feed after they're done molting. Cheers!
Great job congratulations
Thanks!
Enjoyed watching your races.
Thanks my friend! Looking forward to watching your race videos.
@@blancloft Three more week I can't wait.
