I bought a silver one new in 2008. Sold it in 2013 to get a V8. I always missed the FN2. Bought another silver one , 2007 model, last month with only 51,000km. It still has the new car smell that I can remember from 15 years ago in the one I bought new. Hondas are very special cars. Every drive is fun, whether it is cruising and trying to drive smoothly and get good fuel economy, or revving out the glorious engine and enjoying the bliss of the light clutch and heavenly gearshift feel. Happy happy joy joy.
I bought my black FN2 Type R GT new in 2008 and still have it. It only has 103k on the clock its in mint condition and i look after it like a new baby. If you look after it, the FN2 will never let you down.
Hey man great review I have celica gts 2002 with 2zz and its gearbox is super notchy I was thinking to own this fn2 but if the gearbox is notchy than there is no point
Hi Iman, hope you are well. Thank you so much for watching! Honestly I work really hard in posting these videos hoping poeple enjoy my content and it really means a lot when we are supported by a positive comment. People like you give us inspiration to keep going. Thank you so much! My name is Sohail by the way.
Sterling Tech UK you’re certainly welcome! I looked all over UA-cam and this video was the most helpful 🙏 gave me the exact info I was looking for as I’m looking to get an fn2. Again, thank you and keep up the great work! 👏
You are most welcome Iman, honestly it's so refreshing to see asian UA-camrs supporting each other. The FN2 is a brilliant fun car to drive and values are increasing because of their huge fan base. Only things to look out for are gearbox crunches especially on 3rd gear. Also suspension is hard and not very comforting on long jouneys. Buying a low mileage one with FSH is always a good idea. I have bought and sold hundreds of cars so have considerable experience. If you need any help or advice please feel free to ask or you can WhatsApp me on 07588 613560. We are based in London UK. Thank you for your kind support.
Sterling Tech UK :) that makes sense, I was looking to get one for everyday use but it seems like I’m better off getting one as a weekend car instead. I really appreciate all the help & info I’ve learned so much about these cars! 🙌
@@imanaturaltcm You are most welcome, glad I could help. It's refreshing to meet another car fan! Yes definitely fn2 would make a great weekend car. You may also consider Golf r or BMW 135i which can be used as your daily drives aswell.
FF cars can oversteer as well. So a spoiler at the back is logical. Had a oversteer on a ff CRX and later i found out that track CRX cars had extra weight in the back.
The price has already reached 10k for a really good one. I've put down money on my first Type R this weekend for exactly that figure, it's done 32k miles, 60 plate, Milano red with the GT pack (LSD, Xenon HID & Cruise Control), and full honda service history. If you go for the pre-2009 cars with more than 60k, you can still get a decent bargain, but as more and more examples get ruined by people not being willing to pay for the upkeep (it is a Japanese car, parts are NOT cheap) they'll start to become more scarce and the price will go up even more for the good ones left unragged.
I paid 6 grand for mine with 53k on the clock...I've seen the championship white ones at 15k at low mileage.....but 5 figures is a lot of money for a fn2 type r in my opinion as in 10 grand or above...good job that car didn't pull out of that street while it was in vtec 😬😖
Great video, for a look and for a hearing as well. Greetings from Slovakia. ; ) Please let me ask you - I´m seriously thinking about buying the FN2, but opinions about very stiffness of the stock suspension setup make me a little bit of afraid. Is that really so bad for a daily use, as some of other owners says? : ) Thank you.
Hi thank you for your kind comment Sir. The FN2 is great looking car with an amazing engine at its heart. However, yes I would have to agree suspension is on the hard side you will feel the pot holes on the road.
If you manage to get a good one from private owners than prices are ok as of 2020. But if you try to peek at dealerships, your eyes will roll backwards. Like, new honda type r in 2020 were under 18k with couple thousand miles on them. Now they're 30k, madness.
Yeah it’s a 320d turbo gears 1-3 seem to be sluggish but soon as your in 4+ it flys and does pull well I would definitely have to test drive a Type r before making the decision
I found a decent type r on eBay however before pressing the buy now button I looked it up on youtube, this was the first video I clicked on and now I’m glad i didn’t press buy now.. Definitely sticking to e90’s. Depending on your budget you should look into getting a 330D definitely something that won’t feel sluggish or even a 325D. Guess these 08 F2’s type r’s aren’t the proper V Tec that i’ve been looking for :(
@@alangunar6534 I probably wouldn’t get another bmw mate to be fair I want to change things up a bit which is why was looking into the type r or maybe a Leon cupra or something
This car all day I test drove a mk5 gti while owning one of these and it just felt so dull in comparison…the the sheer lunacy the Type R brings to the table is hard to replicate, Drive one and your get what I mean.
My wife Paid £3300 last year with 78k full service history and other mods with a bit of laquer peel but I agree prices have gone up on these 5k would get you a decent one
The FN2 Type-R is one of the prettiest cars on the road. Stunning looking.

Good video man! Good to have people enjoying and actually having a look at the fn2 and not just because of a tiny review that shat on it.
Many thanks. I completely agree this is a great car overlooked by many.
bought a nighthawk black one a few months ago, a smile every time I drive and more and more people are saying how awesome the car is
What I found really scary is I am the owner of this exact car in the video 😂
It really was a lovely car. Thanks for sharing.
I bought the fn2 a couple months ago and i love it.
Great car! Thank you for your support!
Thanks for the Info. Im looking at one on Tuesday 👍
I love my 08 alabaster silver fn2 type r. So practical and reliable for a daily. Great vid!
Thanks for watching!
That’s my old manor. It’s a sign, I’m buying one.

These cars are underrated… it’s only a matter of time until prices really go up as they’re the last N/A civic type r
its mad how nice these are looking now compared to the newer designs.. i love the fk2 type r aswell.
Cant wait to buy one
Great video, love anything type R, owned a DC2 looking to get an FN2 soon 🤜
Such a great video, thanks for the information 🙌

You should call it the typefighter R.. Great vid tho. Just got mines 6 months ago in milano red
Many thanks for watching!
With a little bit of fettling, the FN2 is a complete weapon on track. Will be uploading videos of mine over coming weeks, one up already at Cadwell.
Completely agree they are awesome cars for very little money. Thanks for watching!
Love my FN2!

I'm getting a 2008 this week..

im geting one too after 5 days with 280k km on the clock
@@fraggy4180 how has it been treating you? these things run forever it seems
Looks like Zorg from Toy Story lool!! 😂😆🤖
I have a 2010 bmw 3 series 2 litre will one of these fn2 feel sluggish compared? I know the 0-60 is better on the type r but torque ect
It depends if your turbo diesel you will feel more torque. Otherwise the FN2 is lighter and front wheel drive will be much quicker of the mark.
