INSANE PRICE!!! OMG, NEVER F'n MIND.
Wow hard to believe a truck camper can cost as much as a 30 foot travel trailer.
Depends where you purchase from.
Ha! Try double, triple and more. There are several units that are well over 100k.
Truck campers are structurally built differently from travel trailers. My 2018 850 Lance truck camper purchased new at around $36,000. Today, I just received an offer for $30,000. So, the resale value of truck campers is higher than travel trailers. I live in my camper full-time and love it. I'm thinking about upgrading to the 2024 975.
@branmichaluk445, if purchased in Delaware, there's no sales tax.
First, you can definitely get this in the 40s. Second Lance is a higher quality manufacturer. Third inflation is out of control… so yeah 😗
Your reviews are the most transparent and forthcoming I've ever seen. Said it before, I'll say it again. Give this man a raise!!! You should teach other slicksters who do walkthroughs how it's done. Thankyou for being real and genuine in every review you do.
I agree, Brad does a good job in a real world way in his demos. But I sure wish he would have had his keys on him so I could really get a good understanding of how that key rack worked.
Check out josh the rv nerd at bish
This list for more than my loaded 2023 Chevy Colorado Z--71. Crazy.
Brad Overhier always gives the best Truck Camper Reviews!
Thank you 😁
I always thought a sink in the small bathrooms were the dumbest things ever.
Great job Lance
Not me. I think washing your hands after pooping in a sink also used for cleaning food and dishes is gross.
@@CarolHewett-ug2cw If you're washing off produce in the sink that may have animal waste on it whats the difference?
And one would think you clean out the sink, before washing food in it....
Don't poop in the sink.@@CarolHewett-ug2cw
I checked out at 50 grand. No thanks, Lance. Appreciate your videos though. Thanks for sharing.
IDEA: In the bathroom, you could have a small hand sink that has a faucet/taps connected to the shower hose.
Brad is like the only Lance-committed dude on the internet... I appreciate that he makes these videos for us, to see what it looks like inside each of these. Thanks man!
Thank you for watching!
another great video for us dude...healthy holiday to you and yours!
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎊
Omg these prices are unimaginable. That's the price of my used 2500 ram. I am exciting the market for truck campers. Have a good day
Hey Brad,
‘Love these minimalist designs. ‘Got an older Dodge Cummins here with a low payload capacity. What I’d love sometime is for you to run a tape along the bottom from the bulkhead to the inside rear face, giving an idea what’s left in an 8’ bed should us long-bed guys wanna consider a short-bed unit.
I’m pleased to see you subtlety a little more forthright addressing payload- Nice job 👍🏽
Lance has all the measurements online if you really want to know
Great video Brad!!!
Thanks, Brad!
I skipped the microwave and the extra cupboard space is great. The screws for the oven vent were sticking through and almost poked a hole in my coffee pot
Do you recommend any upgrades on a 2500 to help with the camper? Thanks for the video.
Enjoyed again, Brad
I’m glad, thank you for watching!
Good video.
Stove tops should be centered between sink and wall, as this stove top you could not use a larger Panas it would hit the wall
Beautiful Camper.
Two Suggestions:
1. Use the Sink that Folds up over the 🚽 Bowl
2. Design Windows that goes Up and Down like a Normal Vehicle Cab Window
You're Welcome! 😃👍
Man these prices are sick! No Thanks!!!
Thanks for the nice video
Thank you for watching!
Would makeva great hunting rig mated with a lifted 4 wheel drive 2500.
Brad what is the foil under the bed for? Also are you sure if it doesn't tip over
U do such good vids
Thank you for watching!
Yeah he never says. I imagine its well under a million $. Light enough to haul on your bike too😮
2,200 lbs plus gear, plus you and spouse, you can get to 3K lbs really quick. Quite honestly, this may max out most 2500 diesels. This is the right camper for a SRW 3500, or maybe a 2500 gasser.
Yeah my Super Duty F-250
Total gross vehicle weight
is #10,000 LBs! And it's 7,000 LBs after I dump trash at the dump, so I can only add 3,000 pounds! Might build my own "Topper" again outta wood, 😊🤣😎💰💰💰💲💲💲
I have the “lighter” Lance 650 on my 2004 2500 Cummins 2wd 4dr - don’t believe the weight they advertise or that it’s for 1/2 ton pickups. To stay under my GVWR I ditched my 5 steel wheels for lighter aluminum wheels, saving 100 pounds and remove the 4 electric jacks when it’s on the truck to save 140 pounds. And I still go over the CAT scales each long trip to see where I’m at. I have 5 different trailers ranging from an Aluma cycle trailer up to a 7x14 aluminum enclosed trailer and to compensate for the hitch weight I remove the spare from the truck and haul it in the trailer along with everything else that I can to keep the weight off the 4 wheels of the Dodge Ram/Lance combo. And I always use a hitch weight scale to make sure I’m at 10-15% tongue weight. Why all of this? I’ve had twice that one of my Michelin tires blew up and tore up the truck bed. So now I have tires with a higher load capacity and tire monitoring that tells me the temp and pressure of each tire, including trailer tires, as I’m driving down the road. Moral of the story-weigh your load, it will be more than you guesstimate!
Get a ford if you want to haul something. 3,9xxlb payload on a new ‘24 F250 lariat 4x4 6.7 diesel I had in the shop the other day. You have to buy an actual truck if you want to haul something
Used to have a jayco song bird short bed truck camper weighted much less than the new ones. Not sure why bc it was made of 1980s materials about the same size as this model.
I like the bathrooms on this one and I’m not crazy about wet baths 6:10 6:19
rubber stopper for the drain then sit down and use the plastic cup method for a sponge bath
Are there any that are only as wide as a single tire Pickup? This would then fit nicely in a parking spot
It was a long arduous journey to that kitchen, huh! 😂
New to the channel, you should have one loaded then head out to a campsite or boondocking spot and show it all working.
Excellent suggestion. I would also like to see this
Beautiful unit. I could live with fewer options and a lower sticker though!
Skipping on options doesn’t save much once I cut the price. Maybe a thousand or two on a unit like this
@@ognir66 you’re going to the wrong dealers my guy. An 825 at my dealership is not going to set you back anymore then $45k. If you’re out of the state of TN, I’m not going to collect sales tax because I have no where to send it, what you decide to do after that is up to you. Truck equipment ballparks around $2.5k. Still under $50k.
Heck, our most expensive double slide 1172 for the dually’s with ALL the options I still sell under $75k.
Like I said, you’re going to the wrong dealers. The 1172 (largest) doesn’t even retail at $100k
Thanks Brad. I haven't been on for a while. Have you always carried travel trailers. I've never seen them on the lot before? Or is it just because inventory is much easier to get now so you have them in stock? Anyway. Thanks again. Love your walk throughs.
Travel Trailers we mainly just place custom orders as requested for customers. We decided to go ahead and stock a few, but will probably go back to just ordering as requested once these are gone. We sell more Truck Campers then bumper pulls, plus they take a lot more room to stock and we're limited on space as is selling Boats, Pontoons, Truck Campers, & Travel Trailer’s lol
Thank you for your reply. Have a great day!
I appreciate you watching! You as well!
If $50,000 is “cheapest,” I need to buy a backpack and a pup tent.
In 1990 I bought a used Six Pack cab over camper for $800. Weighed 1275# and my heavy half ton F150 did great with a 5.0 liter V8. Camped from Baja to British Columbia with it. 50 grand, no thanks, sounds like Airstream pricing.
if you had a solar panel would it keep the battery charged even if you were watching tv and running the fridge ? plus i would like to live in one for a tiny house
No the fridge will kill the battery, I believe they’re only set up to run on ac and gas now anyways
How do you drain the black water tank through that small hose?
It has a normal sewer hose connection on the back bottom, the small inlet is a flushing system for cleaning 🧼
The screens don't do any good when all the bugs come in to open or close those euro windows. Needs sliding open windows or the old luver crank style
Can a 2024 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Double Cab 5' Bed AT handle thus, I wonder?
Nope
How is it they are called optional equipment? If I didn't want them, will you remove them??
On a custom order, yes. On stock no. Just like a pick up on a dealers lot. We stock what sells, and generally that’s loaded up. But we do place custom orders for people who do not necessarily care for the “bells and whistles”
Wil,thisl thing endure Canadian winters
Sold a lot of these campers to people using them for Alaska. I’d say it should handle okay
Well it gets to be -40 Celsius here and il be living in it year round, ill have to install a small woodstove where the closet is...
Thanks for Replying Brad👍
Can i carry this on a ram 1500 non disel and short bed
Not this model, but Lance is in the works of releasing a Trucker Camper for the 150 & 1500 series shortness. It will be called the Lance 805
Cost $$$?
I was going to say wow that’s overpriced when he said 51 and I assumed that was hundred not thousand 😂, this is fucjed I’ll build my own
The electric jacks are $5k alone lol they are expensive though
Better get a 350 / 3500 SRW. Many diesel 3/4 ton trucks do not have enough payload capacity... but the price... holy moly... I paid mid 30s in 2017 for a Northstar Laredo that IMO is a better camper.
250 is just fine for an 825. My uncle is hauling an 865 in a ‘17 250 6.7 diesel needing zero suspension support at all, doing many 6hr+ trips.
It’s fine your opinion of the Northstar being better, but reality is they’re a step better then a palomino and a step under an Arcticfox. Not on Lance’s level.
Is it a true 4 season? Could it handle -30?
It is true four season, but hell, can anything handle -30?
You would need to be plugged in or your heater would run the battery dead
I'm in a Lance Squire - LS- 4000 - 9.4 ...weight is 1,730 lbs. Why don't they make them that lite anymore ? Oh and it's from 1989 ....
go to a weigh station, it’s not 1,730lbs…
more in line around 2,300-2,400lbs or more depending on optional equipment for your model.
On another note, Lance is in the works on a 805 model that’s going to be aimed for the half ton truck market.
@@itsbrad ....Thanks for the advice ....will give that a go ...
😂😂😂 Hard to believe, these campers cost as much as a house used to cost 😭.😅😅😅
Soda cost as much as a house used to cost too.
Land use to be free once you claimed it.
Times change
You called cheap a $57000 , cheap is used on prices like $1000 , that's a real CHEAP 😅
Well...heck why not not half off free?
No toilet paper is required. HA ha ha ha ha
$57,000.00 for a bed camper ? That is nuts !
For some, others, not
Wow. 60 grand
3/4 ton. 75 grand
At first I thought, "will it fit in that Silverado with the 6' bed?
Then he stated the price. END OF STORY.
🤣
Love your videos ❣️. My fat Ass wouldn't fit through that window!?!?!? Lol
57 K ?
Yikes
I believe I need a used one .
57k is retail, not actual price
lol bought one in canada for KING CASH little above half of that
Congrats, you won’t nowadays
How much price please
Is too much.
What does it cost?
How about you all pay attention to the video and look at 2:59 where you can see the price...? Or, is that just too much work for you all?
@@buckhorncortez Relax there bucky.
$ 57.000 for a box. 😮
Unreal
$51,000! Haha that’s what I paid for my house in 1992. I will buy used.
and here we are 32 years later… lol house still only worth $51k?
@@itsbrad I get your point, however I just bought a 2000 Ford F150 with 5.4 V8 and 7700 trailer tow package in immaculate condition for $1900 US so… I gotta go used!
57 grand 😱 You could buy a used Class C with a lot of life left in it for that kind of money. 😆
Wow very expensive. In the state of Washington they go for 36k
$36k is less then invoice, so you’re looking used or going off pricing from 4-5 years ago. Or your dealer is just trying to dump them
@@itsbrad I think they’re trying to dump them because the 2023 are for 35k in Temecula and in Washington for 36k and the Tacoma area has them for 39k.
I’ve seen these dealers that advertise low prices with the camper and then hit you hard with pdi, prep, walkthrough fees. Crooked as 💩 if you ask me. We do not charge extra fees. These usually sell between $43-$45k depending what options you add. So, OTD price is similar.
Not worth the price
I paid that for my new 3bedroom 2 bath house 4 years ago ,,crazy
That’s great, I paid quadruple for my 3 bedroom 2 bath house 3 years ago
My 3bedroom house cost less than
60k with everything... and it just sits in your bed. how can dual axel campers with their own chasis and suspension and fleshed out interior be cheaper...
57Kfor that!!! Hahaha what a joke
If your smallest truck bed camper is $22,000 that is highway robbery my friend it should not be more than ten Grand this is the problem I have with Walmart
You must live in a parallel dimension where eggs aren't $4.50 a dozen...and the chickens get paid more...
go build it for $10k, id be curious to see how it comes out
By the time you buy a truck and truck camper you could have bought a house.
Takes courage to say the price...😂
Thank you, I overcame my fears and let it loose
I would really appreciate a tour of the smallest, lightest, cheapest truck camper that Lance makes which WILL fit on a Half Ton Rig.
I’m not really interested in buying a new truck as I just put a new motor & trans in my existing truck (w/100k, 3 yr warranty). I have 2 30’ TT which are my primary RVs but a nice small enough and well built enough unit would be great for those nice side trips to otherwise inaccessible places.
Lance doesn’t make one, check another brand
Great review but way overpriced!!!
$57,000? I don't think so.
$57,000 for a truck camper???
57k ain’t cheap. I can buy a trailer
or 5th wheel for that price.
That very expensive
That price is about 35k to muck .. what a rip off
They’re more now
It's not small. Small should be less than 1500 lbs
They are releasing a new model called the Lance 805, I should have it next Thursday, only one in the Southeast. Be expecting a video coming soon on it. Designed for halfton pickups, helluva lot light then this one supposedly
CRAZY no one can make a decent slide in camper for a 1/2 ton pickup
Lance 805, look it up
I purchased a 2019 Travel Lite 700. Luckily found one nearby as the lighter ones are much harder to find. Paid a little under 10k. It is around 1300lbs and I have lightened it up a little by smaller propane tank, but added a light 5lbs TV. I installed some air bags and have no issues at all hauling it around on a 1500 Ram. Unfortunately I believe Travel lite went under like many during Covid, but they make some great lightweight slides if you can find a good used one! They hold their value well too.
Why buy a 60 thousand dollar truck camper.when you can almost pay for a house for 60 thousand dollars?
Usually whenever someone buys one of these, they already have a house
For $60,000 I can by property. Nice camper, insane price.
Way to much money,
I enjoyed your tour, but holy whatever, Batman, that interior looks like a black and white picture. Have vampires come and sucked the color and life out of every current interior designer? Gray gray gray. Gray houses, and now gray campers. Even colorful blankets and throw pillows couldn't brighten up that interior. Also, washing my poopy hands off in the kitchen sink wouldn't be my favorite thing. Maybe that's why the sink is also gray, to hide the splattered poop. I need to go watch a video in color now.
Agreed with the lack of color, but why do you have poop on your hands? lol
The sister model “865” gains the sink back in the bathroom, that’s why they make different models for different taste. Still doesn’t solve the bland interior design though.
@@itsbrad 💩🤲 Just messy I guess. 💩I loved the idea of using the shower head as a bidet, though. 🙃
To much for to little
Not cheep inexpensive
Agree with the other comments. Insane pricing. Thumbs down on this video.
I don’t make the pricing 👎🏻
@@itsbrad I understand. You did a great job of course. Just don't understand the pricing at all. It isn't a thumbs down to you, its the owners.
You lost me at 50k
You must have a short attention span...
Sorry my 200 Amp Hour Lithium Iron phosphate battery from renogy was 600 dollars 1 year ago. So way to much "added extra" Also if you don't know that your builders are fucking you, you need a different supplier.
So here’s the way I look at it, I’m very different from a lot of people though. My camper for example, I added the dual lithium battery option for $2,595. My camper retails around $74k, at that point what does a measly $2,595 matter? Besides, when everything is discounted in the end, I’m not paying that much for the batteries anyways. Am I supposed to waste my valuable time researching different batteries that are hopefully reputable over $500 maybe? Not me, but like I said, I don’t stress the little stuff like some do. If I can’t afford the batteries, maybe I don’t need to be buying the camper.
This comment is not with ill intent btw, just my opinion. I greatly appreciate you continuing to watch and voice your opinion as well. Cheers 🍻
@@itsbradare you making payments on that 75k camper you own?
@@j_rainsgoat3929 I sold it, but yes, I do finance campers and use them for about a year. I would never liquidate that much cash on something that doesn’t make a return.
Soooo gross…how’d we let things get this bad?!
Who’s we?
Priced to high...RIP OFF
51k lmfao well I ain’t buyin lance
What’s next?
Ridicules price for a small box of wood, a cheap sink, and 2 burner stove and a cheap bed. Thank god I purchased mine several years ago. If you don’t think the economy is getting ready to crash, this is more proof. Anybody knows there is not much in these, once you throw them on your new $80k HD truck, you will have 140k. No wonder people are building their own from scratch!
$60k for that? GTFO
Insanely over priced
rip off
