Hiya, another enjoyable video. Your food looked tasty. Thank you for sharing. How you have not got more subscribers always surprises me. Have a great week.
Not boring at all - you make great films without clickbait nonsense. I'm always pleased to see a new upload, and I appreciate the work you put into them. I've been watching the channel for ages and I don't even know your name or what you look like, and that's very refreshing in the Look At Me world of YT!
Thanks. Actually, I've appeared briefly in a few vids but prefer doing POV style. Others do a great job with the selfie style (which is far more entertaining to most viewers) and good on them, it's not easy to entertain. My style of just content won't be everyone's cup o' tea but grateful a few seem to like. Cheers! STL
Thanks so much :) Actually I do appear in a few vids (briefly - see latest vid, also Phi Phi vid and a couple others) but just prefer POV filming and hopefully giving a sense of being there.
Nice video, nice Koh Samui beach hotel (and nice guests ;) ). Love these videos! Just the right amount and variety of scenery with just the right amount of narration.
I agree with Braders don't sell yourself short. Loved therm because I see what you see and not the person with their mug in view blocking the scenery. Again well done.
It's no 'fluke' you got so many views. People appreciate quality simple as. These videos instil a burning desire to get back to Thailand but as you stated in an earlier video some people don't want it to go back to the way it was. A very very good point.
I lived in Baan Bang Rak Kho Samui for 7 years and used to go to that part of the beach for sun sets. Been in Bangkok for 8 years now and seeing this made me miss those days. Will have to go visit soon.
You sure picked the right spot Paul, absolutely love Bangrak. For any looking in who missed it, here's my tour of pubs, eats, sleeps in Bangrak: ua-cam.com/video/WJNTJL-c5t0/v-deo.html Like Paul, miss it already and will be back.
Keep your vids coming. Your voice is so relaxing and your camera work is excellent hope to retire to Samui next Easter with my wife. Hope you can visit us if you are ever passing !!!!
Great vlog nice and smooth really enjoyed this. Samui pier resort wow Bang rak. Absolutely right on the beach, and that is so cheap, room looked lovely. My bucket list just gets longer. Been to Lamai and Chaweng but never to Bang Rak. Safe travels, will travel from Australia again next year
@@SideTripLife just caught up on this one,not sure how I missed it? Been following you for some time.great hotel yet again and so cheap,I have paid a lot more for average hotels in Chaeweng and Lamai. Thailand has the best sunsets you have certainly found them.great vlog. Thanks again safe travels.Aus old man..Kevin
Leaving the islands... Back to BKK. Have a great time, all the best with everything what's coming up next and 'Thank You' big big time for all your support during these difficult times. We'll always keep this as a special memory in our hearts. Hope to see you around again... Y&D
Thx Ying! Was wonderful meeting you and seeing your home cooking school. For SURE will visit again - and for any who missed it, pls see the vid (and follow Ying's channel:) ua-cam.com/video/k0sDJ6dHXno/v-deo.html
It's funny, I'm in Bangkok and moving to Samui at the end of the month so based on this video I thought I would book the first month at the Samui Pier Resort for December. No room for those dates. Sidetrip getting getting popular I think. Wherever he goes I'll have to try somewhere else. Great channel.
Just discovered your Vlogs recently and 💯 ❤️ your content, hope to come to these magical Islands in the not to distant future...really like how you always give the viewer a full room tour and the price of accommodation greeting to you from Australia Heike 👍😊
Leaving the sandy beaches for the big city. I'm sure you have already planned to go back. Who in there right mind could stay away from all that gorgeousness for very long, if gorgeousness is even a word, LMFAO. At least you're not here in RAINCOUVER. We actually had a small tornado the other day. Can you believe it? I was stunned. Cheers, keep safe and stay healthy buddy.
Thx Andrew. Several ppl sent me clips of that tornado/water funnel - weird seeing my hometown looking like a scene from Kansas! Could have been worse, Sharknado? lol ;) Stay well.
Hej ! Im coming down from Sweden in 4 weeks , jippikajey . So I have a question for you . Is it mandatory to wear a facemask at all times on koh Samui ? Or can you for instance walk on the beach without one ? Thanks for vids ! Helpt alot the past years
Hehe, 3:00... No (abbreviation for number)... just missing the period to let you know it is an abbreviation. How long are you staying in BKK? I'm arriving BKK Nov 17; we could meet up for a coffee.
DOH!!! I grew up around boats and ships, large and small, how did I miss this lol! Just a brief stop in Bkk and off on a new adventure but enjoy your stay, still lots to do and see despite what others say
Another nice upload, thanks! Is it possible to ferry a motorbike to Koh Tao (from Samui or mainland)? I know it's easy enough to/from Samui and mainland. Thanks!
Thanks and yes. Talay Sub and Porntaweesin Night Boats ply Chumpon to Koh Tao. Sea Crest, Choa Tappee, Ko Jaroen and old school wooden boats ply Surat Thani (riverfront on town) to Koh Tao. Believe most can take bikes and have sleeping berths too. Booking is mostly done at the departing piers and can't book online so best Google and call. Also local travel agents can reserve (for English agent try calling Phantip in Surat Thani or msg them on FB). Schedule times/days vary as various boats alternate sailings. Surat Thani -Koh Tao night boat costs are around 600 baht passenger/sleeper, not sure how much more for a bike but probably all in for around 1000 baht/$30.
Great to watch another great video. Just a question. I am coming to Thailand thus December from Canada. First time to Samui. Please advise which area is best to stay, considering open restaurants, pubs, attractions and great beaches. I appreciate your recommendations.
Thx Freddy. If we're talking open as in open now, would choose: Bangrak: ua-cam.com/video/WJNTJL-c5t0/v-deo.html or Bophut: ua-cam.com/video/m4XW1e2S4Xk/v-deo.html Both have a good vibe with many pubs, cafes etc open. Chaweng, Lamai are larger in area thus need more flipflops on the ground to get going more (hopefully from Dec onwards). Have a look when landed at all areas, including quieter gems such as Bang Po, Maenam etc. Either way, Samui is still absolutely lovely and fantastic for a holiday.
Thanks Richard. On the islands not so much, plus it's peak rainy season now too (a time which few go to the islands). Also the restrictions weren't lifted entirely as many had wished for. Rather reduced from 10 day quarantine to 1 while awaiting arrival test results and health insurance Koh-Vid waiver reduced from 100K down to 50K. The new Thailand Pass app also had bugs which hasn't helped either (similar to UK's NHS CV-19 buggy app launch and other Govt's to be fair). App now said to be much better however. There's also still a risk of getting a positive test result upon landing (less than 0.1% actually) but the potential sequester in a 'Hospitel' + out of pocket expense is off putting to many. The final craw for some is clubs openings being put back to potentially Jan 15. Still, Bangla Rd on Phuket plus Bangrak on Samui and Koh San Rd in Bkk can get lively with several places selling alcohol with food licences (Pattaya & Hua Hin still sidelined unfortunately). With Cambodia just announcing end of quarantine for vaccinated travellers from Nov 15th and others considering same, Thailand may also have to consider same as ntnl vax rates continue to increase. Having said that, note Holland and Austria as well as others are re-instating restrictions, so could go the other way too (hopefully not). For example, on Koh Phangan at present, almost 200 cases have sprung up in past 4 days out of approx 10,000 population which has swamped the small hospitals (ironically, many on KPG are anti-vaxxers on Koh-Vid visa extensions). Ok, this got waaaay more long winded than intended but suffice to say no big spike as yet with many awaiting final restrictions being lifted. STL
