I need to try this. What I like to do when I study is write out paragraphs and circle like 15 words, at first, and try to memorize them. I then decrease the number of words down to 5 only. I list the 5 words and write out my paragraph. It makes everything connect. The right terms, or keywords, makes it easier. As long as I know those terms/keywords, then I easily remember and understand everything.

Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "how to stop forgetting homework" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Yeetta Gradeify Scores - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend got great results with it.

Thanks for your idea! I used to have photographic memory and remembered everything I read. Then in 11th grade for a test, I couldn't remember one thing. I panicked and couldn't understand why I couldn't remember. Then in 12th grade I started to experience more forgetfulness. So I started repeating and rereading to memorize.
I think your stories is a more effective way to memorize and not to forget as it involves your creative part of brain and emotions.
I will teach my daughter to use your technique so that she can memorize everything. My daughter Loves stories and this will help her a lot!

This technique helped me memorize charts of many, many chemicals and how they work for a huge exam. An example is: "Lance (trade name fungicide) cant breath (works by affecting respiration) in his poncho (Guancho CS FL, seed treatment) because he eats too many carbs (Carboxamides- Group #7)". Incredibly effective. I'll remember these forever. Thanks so much!

Hahaha I did this for my Anatomy and Physiology exams last year, here's a very stupid story to share on the 5 common causes of Jaundice:
    1) Juan loves to play with his dice, but this causes his red blood cells to get tired. (Excessive destruction of RBCs)
    2) One day his red blood cells were so tired from his excessive dice playing that they took it out on two innocent bystanders: Liver and Billy. These two were best friends until RBC's put a curse on them and split them up for good (Impaired uptake of bilirubin by the liver)
    3) So Billy wondered the streets of Jaun's inner body all alone. He stared at a dirty stream of water and cried longing for a new friend (Obstruction of bile flow in canaliculi)
    4) One day Billy met Jason. They started a friendship but then Jason ran off with his money. Billy watched him run and put his thumb upside down yelling 'You're a con Jason" (Reduced conjugation of bilirubin)
    5) Meanwhile, the other organs tried to comfort Liver, as he missed his friend too. They came up with a plan to make Liver smile again. They decided to produce clones of his old friend Billy so Liver would never be lonely again. (Excessive bilirubin production by organs outside the liver)

@Peace14 wouldn't it be easier not to comment something pointless rather than comment something pointless? You have obviously missed the point of this video and reason for the learning technique. It is in fact easier to learn information when they are connected together, rather than separated bullet points. But if that works for you, congratulations, I am happy for you and I care.

Peace14 actually I would argue that its NOT easier to remember a set of points in comparison to a story , especially not in the long term. Story’s activate the visual areas of our brains. Imagery has been shown to have a much higher retention in terms of memory than verbal or written forms of study.

Maha, I think you heard me banging my head against my desk in frustration trying to memorize this nervous system block. I'll definitely try this, and just in time for my test next week! Thank you for sharing 💛💛
UPDATE: Tried it. It isn't an 'all-encompassing' study technique and works best for remembering processes, not just straight information. It was also better for me to have an idea of the information by itself so the story wasn't confusing and more like a reminder. I used it to memorize the cranial nerves and where they synapse by making them inhabitants of a town. For example, Old Mrs. Gloss (glossopharyngeal nerve) and her dog Otic (synapse) salivate the same amount (stimulates the parotid salivary gland). It seems silly at first but it worked for me.

What I do is either make short sentences where the first letters represents the words I need to memorize or I search for special letters/sounds in the words that I can use to connect them to the subject I am reading about (a really simple example is that both cytosine and thymine has a y, and so does pyrimidine). Yeah baby!! I have been doing this since forever. Legit, this works.
Just a little word of caution, it doesn't work for everybody. For example, it comes very naturally to someone like me, I can concoct such stories in no time. Often the story comes to me WHILE I read the material. But for many others, it is extremely time consuming. Please do assess the kind of thinker and learner you are before adapting to a new study technique.😃
Excellent video though, keep up the good work ❤️

    He’s my story.
    The girl’s name is CARMINE
She takes GLYCOGEN supplement because she’s an ALCOHOLIC, she drinks 4-5 times a day. She damaged her LIVER. When she drinks she turns RED and BLUE. She finally was able to stop drinking after she started taking POTASSIUM supplements.
    Let me explain.
It’s a histology station for carbohydrate called BEST CARMIN
it demonstrates GLYCOGEN. Its fixative is ABSOLUTE ALCOHOL.
    Section size is 4-5 um
Its reagents are POTASSIUM CARBONATE and POTASSIUM CHLORIDE.
The results are: glycogen = RED, nuclei = BLUE.
    Wow this actually does work.

I’m a G11 student and choosing career is making me frustrated. I’m so confuse with what I want to be. I don’t know and it makes me feel worthless. Makes me cry every time I think about it, but I’m pursuing/studying anything that is related to med because that’s what my mom told me and that I should be a doctor. Many people told me to be one, but I’m scared that I won’t make it and I don’t want to disappoint them. I’m so tired right now overthinking.
    Sorry for the long drama.
Dear friends, how do you know that your career is your calling?

    • @isotopicion
      @isotopicion 5 років тому

Hey there. Grade 10 student in Canada here. Grade 11 is definitely an important year for your future career but I gotta say, what ur feeling is completely normal. I mean seriously how can you truly expect a 16/17 year old KID to know what they want to do for the rest of their life? I totally get the parents wanting you to be a doctor thing. My parents want the same for me. See I genuinely love science so I don’t mind their hopes for me to become something medical but I too feel like a doctor is too difficult. That’s why I’m thinking of being a nurse. If YOU are interested, why not try for something like that? Still hard but not as much years involved. U also make your parents happy. Btw you aren’t worthless, everyone on Earth has a purpose and is capable of anything they want. :)

Maha, I loved this video! You seem so amicable and, sis, you’re glowing!! That’s honestly what I thought while watching this video 😅 The method you use to study is kinda like (if not) the Memory Palace method. Amazing video🤗🤗keep up the amazing work and best of luck in your studies!:)

Is it bad that I watch your videos 1 week late because I don't want it to feel like a long time between videos? lol I just love them so much!! Thanks for answering some of the questions I had. We understand how hard it must be to juggle med school and a very successful youtube channel at the same so take your time! you got this!

I have found ginko biloba helpful with one caveot. I had to take tripe the dose on the bottle. I stopped for fear of toxi side effects. I did it for months before I stopped without a problem but I can't imagine it not taking. a toll on my liver. That beins said I was remembering details of other peolles conversations I overheard withou trying.
