The River Tunnel Media Tour

The Phase 3 of the New SLC encompasses the construction of the Central Tunnel, as well as the build out of the Concourse B to the east. The Central Tunnel will connect Concourses A and B.
The Central Tunnel has been built to accommodate a walkway for travelers, baggage transport and a passenger train. The train will be added later following the construction of Concourse C.
In collaboration with the airport, Artist Gordon Huether designed "The River Tunnel" -an immersive experience designed to create a sense of walking on the floor of a river, with light and natural currents overhead.This vision will be brought to life through specialized lighting, thoughtful color choices, custom made terrazo flooring and a playlist of nearly 100 songs that has been curated by the artist.
The Central Tunnel is scheduled to open on October 22, 2024.
