Really enjoying the little editing things, like the captions flashing as you say words. This was another really good one, and a topic that hasn’t been covered a lot of YT. Big ups friend!
Yo man appreciate you noticing those little details. It’s tough keeping it visually interesting when I’m just doing this one camera angle so I keep trying new things 🙂
Always great tutorials my brother!! Taking a break for a little bit while I heal from shoulder surgery that I got today, but I'll be tuning in and showing support!!🙏🏾✊🏾
Glad you mentioned compression, its quite important for glueing a mix together, like you said. The SP compresses its output itself (not talking about the mfx), which is also quite helpful, especially when layering complex samples.. What i was kind of missing: Bass frequencies have to be clean. Better filter bassy sounds out of samples and add them seperately (maybe with the subsonic effect). There shouldnt be too much going on in the lower frequencies, only single straight notes...
Yo man thanks for the input. All valid points! I’ll have to try filtering the bass out of the samples a little more and dropping in some subsonic bass notes instead to pad out the low end!
@@spvidz Its worth it, you could do this also when producing in ableton. You may not think its necessary, but clean bass really helps to have a clear mix. In a regular band, the bass guitar is also always playing only the base note ;) keep up the good work my guy
Great tips to get the best sound out the sp........I would say if anyone has a mixer connected they can use the led meter to visually reference the sounds and compare them to where the drum loop sits...it adds a little extra to help your ears figure out how you want the mix to fit......also sometimes putting the sound up kinda high or low on a sound in the mix helps you adjust to where it's comfortable....say you find that it's too loud or too quiet in the mix, you can then find that middle ground happy place the sound wants to chill in.....
Yo great tips man thanks. I was going to mention a similar thing but forgot. You can use a plug-in in ableton called spectrum - I’m sure other DAWS have also got a similar thing where it shows you the frequencies on a signal. I think eq8 would also do the same thing as it shows the signal in the background when you have it loaded on a channel!
Love your channel fella. I've learnt sooooo much watching and applying your tips. Nice work. My question re: mixing that I can't seem to find anything on is: can you pan samples on each pad left and right ?
Hey! Thank you so much for your videos you've really helped me learn a lot since I've gotten an SP, I had a question on how you are some to capture your music at the same time as your voice and the video
YESS I've been meaning to leant how to mix on the sp
Nice one man. Hope these tips are useful!
great video! I appreciate the time you take to make these videos! super helpful
Glad you like them man, thanks for the comment!

UNLESSS youre aiming to be digustingly wild on the low end ;) make chords in the bassline, add chorus and tremolo LOL
@@frooshante hehehe go ahead! i wont report it to the music police ;)

Another great video man, great tips!!
Yo man appreciate it! Thanks for tuning in
I'm find wen I play out my beats sound bad or muddy but sound fine on my headphones and monsters speakers.... Any idea why this is happening???
very cool
Thanks a lot man. Appreciate it!

No panning on this device man. You’d have to do that externally and sample it back in. I think there is a panning fx but don’t think it can do much
Nice! ☺️
Thanks for watching!
Hey! Thank you so much for your videos you've really helped me learn a lot since I've gotten an SP, I had a question on how you are some to capture your music at the same time as your voice and the video
Yo man My mic and sp both run into an audio interface. I record both of them at the same time into ableton!
@@spvidz so you're recording the SP your voice and video all at once?
Yeah I record them at the same time
Can you get me a slight discount on one of these units? ( an SP404 SX or A.?)
I am in no way affiliated to Roland, so can't get discounts etc no
Ricky Tinez also has a Tiger sculpture in his SP vids, must be some grand SP 404 Tiger sculpture conspiracy, I'm onto you.
Hahah caught red handed 🤣 🐅
Cheers for all the support man 🙌
Can we get an updated version for the mk2
Will add it to the list, thanks!
