It's pretty amusing to see what appears to be Rodes Island parked in the tower of babel.
From what I remember of the lore, RI was called Babel by it's builders and that's where it's tower logo came from, even though it kinda looks like a chess piece.
It's like the little mobile city had some kind of weird destiny to go to space?

Not sure which is worse, between Talos II and Rubicon 3, but in terms of FUBARs both planets got a short end of the stick.
I can not wait for this game to come out. I hope it will be just as amazing as the original Arknights
Edit: I'll like to throw in a theory of mine here. I think that Arknights Endfield takes place in the future where the citizens of Terra invented the ability to traverse space. It could explain why there is statue of patriot on Talos II and the reference to an Originium reactor. Because I have yet to notice any thing originate in appearance (I can just be blind). But some event probably the blight they mentioned causes some disaster. So the people wake up the Endministrator (or the Doctor, as mentioned in the ending scene). It would also make sense why there is a character that looks like Kal'tsit there. It could be her. She has lived for at least a thousand years. What's to say she can't live a thousand more. Besides she also has the most knowledge on the sarcophagus. Which can explain why the Endministrator (or Doctor (possibly)) has no memories. As reference to one the voices mentioning that they issued a order but it's said with a bit of confusion. Also the other person explaining what is happening is doing so like the person they are talking to have been living under a rock for a couple years
Anyways, this is just a theory and I can be completely wrong
Edit 2: I have no way to explain what ever the Rhodes Island landship is doing in the Babel Tower. Probably the blight or what ever that mysterious light is on the planet

I think the idea is have a combat like Aether Gazer, abother game from yostar, where the AI uses 2 characters and you use your main one. The AI is pretty good there and you have modules to change their behaviour to suit your needs

Yeah, HG is doing bold move with this one. I mean, they did it once before (Ex-Astris) and it ended with not so satisfying result imo. But I hope they will nailed this one.
Also I agree when you said Endfield will be in hard place (at least for now). Like somehow they are trying to do a project that feels like contradicting each other, mixing gacha with a genre that ain't getting well benefit with gacha system. Like how a base building game need gacha system in the first place.
U literally don't need gacha to do the base building. But as HG said this game have 2 mechanics, the combat, and the base building. No matter how I think about it, it's still a weird move.
It feels like HG trying to against the current from nowadays gaming industry. But, in the other hand, it shows their passion as a gaming company. They don't follow other gacha trends, like trying to make a a game with genre that already sold well in the market. It feels like they want to create what they want, not based on what they want to gain (hai mao just doing hai mao things). But it's what make them gain my respect, I hope this game will be better and getting it's worthy audience.

For those who never known what is Arknights. It's a story of an amnesiac MC (The Doctor) who once a super strategic heartless and almost villain that's woken up after a long cryostasis and was pushed to be commander strategist of an armed pharmaceutical company called Rhodes Island that's operate on the land ship (The Ark that's also called in the same name, 'Rhodes Island'.) The MC have to struggle to learn the consequences of your old self's actions and find the way to survive in the vast world of conflict between nations, world ending disasters and incurable disease called 'Oripathy'.
The story in the main game so far also contains many violence and horrors, lore of the nations and races. So, I'm quite looking forward the Endfield to be in the same quality of story written.
Fun fact : Arknights and Arknights Endfield was developed by a music? company called Hypergryph (Just kidding lol).
