@JayStephens8 wonder if it's the gearing. I compared 200-214 mph here vs michigan in 2014 and they are nearly identical times. However, it hits a wall here at 217 mph and cant climb further. It seems the gearing is set to possibly top out this speed, which is around 9200-9300 rpm. Would be interesting to see if higher gears would see a difference in the sim.

The crew had to add extra weight to the front of the car because it was trying to lift because of the extreme speed. He only ran 3 or 4 laps and the tires were completely worn out too.
It’s all gearing, an old 5th gen Dodge did 240 on the salt flats one year, so I’d imagine somewhere in that range. They use to fly at Michigan and Fontana too, it would be crazy to see a 2011-14 car be let loose

With that power for the given drag coefficient, I believe a rough calculation would be around 500 to 600 mph. Even though the engine would explode within several seconds of WOT, I'm wondering if they could build a similar output engine, but no 500 cubic inch restriction, so it would have more longevity, with a similar output of 12000 hp

The nascar car shown is 2014 where they had 920+ hp. They hit 215+ that year in race trim in the straights of Michigan and Indianapolis. They are easily capable of 230 to 240 in similar trim. With a few aero mods, brad keselowski's dad hit 271 in the salt flats. 180 to 185 is what you're seeing in 2022+ NextGen aero with very reduced horsepower.

Ive seen that era of nascar cup car hit over 225 mph at Michigan international speedway with no tow going into t1 and that entire track is shorter than the mulsanne straight, so therefore I dispute every single number in this video. Kyle Larson wasn't lying when he said Hendrick cars could bring 1000 hp next week without restrictors.
