They made a map in the steam workshop just for you. It’s a bunch of bathrooms with long hallways in between, and some of the bathrooms have suicide bombers. It was built specifically to piss you off. You should try it.

I popped so much smoke, I basically walked into the vip room and fought my way out
Stingers. They are literally made for a situation look this.
Here i used stingers to clear the initial area while using the sniper to kill RPG and Veteran insurgents... I then used 3 troopers to pull security and had 1 make a mad dash for the VIP since he has incoming Hostiles. After taking out the two foreign advisers i kicked open the door, made contact and had him sprint out the exit while covering his rear.. The update actually made it easier as prior to an update u had to capture an HVI too
You had to capture a HVI and protect a VIP?? What a crazy level
@@supersarge24Yep took me about 3- 4 runs to realize plus he was holed up in a building with external glass windows and even more foreign advisers.... I feel like Controlled Pairs is going to love the Bridge Assauly mission :)

Ah yes the long awaited...the “good luck getting 3 stars map”.
I went the SAS route and used the MP5SD. Relatively easy if you can kill the first group without raising the alarm.

I just used undercover CIA, so I could get to the VIP room without anyone noticing. I also left two guys with rifles at the spawn, so they could clear the market for the lighter armed undercover cops
Them soldiers must have problems getting through metal detectors with those balls of steel they got.

I think I ran this map about 9-12 times with only minor alterations just to manage to get no civvies killed. In the end it was mostly luck for me.

I was just playing this and was asking myself “what would pairs do?” And here I am lol
at the beginning, you should throw stingers over the wall to clear the market from civilians
I tried this but it just scatters them and the EI will hunt the VIP so you enter dynamic in chaos because of civis and shoot like ten insurgents in the back until one slips out and execute the VIP this is a hard mission to three star
I put my guys in pairs and formed a mutually supporting skirmish line, like a loose strong wall.
For me the magic recipe was the smoke grenades. Basically you create a corridor of smoke and distract the enemy with the sniper shots while your team sprint through the market. Not sure how realistic it would be IRL, but at least I got the three stars :P
I hate that map. So many dead civilians

My route in and out was identical with the exception of going through the window. At the time I was treating the VIP as a hostage and didn't think he could climb through. Definitely needed to kill all enemy in the courtyard then Alamo up on the VIP fast. Good map. Looking forward to "Speed is Life".
oh my godddd, for this one, I used CIA, got my undercover guys to the VIP asap, then cleared the main section with the rest of my guys and the sniper.. before slowly coming back with my 2 undercover guys
I was able to get three stars using the CIA. Had my under covers quickly walk to the VIP and was able to pull my guns when the kill team had their backs to me. Crazy hard map!!
I just smoked the market and ran 3 dudes straight to the hvt while leaving 1 behind to control the market space. I left 1 guy holding the north entrance to the central room and the other 2 captured the hvt. More smokes and ran out of there.

pre-update (hvt instead of vip) you could have enemy reinforcements from off-map through the gate on the top of the map. just like in some of the other maps, can really catch you off-guard if you don't hold rear guard.
well played, as far as I am concerned this is/was the most difficult map there is.
I force myself to 3 star all the missions. I was able to do this one by filling the market area full of smokes and stingers to clear everyone out and give 2 of my guys cover as they ran to the VIP, the other 2 assaulters and sniper cleared mist of the enemies out. from there I was able to backtrack and bring the hostage back to the extraction point. probably not the most tactical or realistic solution but it worked for the game.
To be fair, the most realistic solution is to bring a hell of a lot more people...or not do such a risky extraction in the first place.
I'm quite certain you've done this map before. Back when you were doing you 'Teaching CQB with Doorkickers' series.

I can't wait till You play the map from latest update - Maze runners. The hardest map in my opinion, but it is possible to make 3 stars.
I did this with the CIA team. The two Black Ops, with ponchos and suppressed M4s, need to get up to the northern entry in 20 seconds, to kill the two foreign advisors coming to kill the VIP. Cheese I know, but hey its a game. After the bodies drop you are compromised, so the Black Ops just sat tight back-to-back holding their position, while the Undercovers weaseled their way to the VIP. All the while the Sniper drops bodies like its cool. That's your 'security' for the retreat! The Undercovers scout a safe path for the VIP back to the Black Ops. Then everyone falls back to the extraction point. Job done!
Massive risk but I flashed the market and set security that progressed through and to the well. At the same time having only one assaulter sprint like mad past the chaos in a solo run.

I switched the squad for the CIA and used ONLY 2 guys!
You can walk right through them all and into the room with the VIP. Then hold the doors while the sniper kills everyone.
Quite easy to get 3 stars that way because the civies don't charge at you like the hostiles.
This map was annoying. I gave up clearing market space and bypassed it by throwing smoke grenades into the whole space. Assaulters run throw all the insurgents and blow the gate leading to the spiral corridor if any civilian doesn't open it already. By doing this I can reach the hostage without any injury or civilian casualties. After assaulters "pacified" all insurgents, the hostage run through the whole map like jumping deer.
Stingers. You can use them to clear out the civs before you go in.
This one turned out easier than I expected after I realized I had to stop an assassination. Have sniper take a bead on one of the RPG guys, carpet bang the market, immediately clear market, have one guy cover northern flank and have two sprint to hallway at right, one guy covers north entrance to hallway, one guy sprints down hallway to stop assassination and the other works through the series of rooms at the bottom right to extract the VIP through them.
I’m guessing it wasn’t out at the time of this vid but I struggled harder on virtually all if the CIA missions than this one.
I'm envious of you being ok with imperfect runs.
You play a tower defense game and have 30 health? Yea, if I take 1 damage I'm resetting and consider it failed.
Same here, perfect or nothing.
I had the sniper open fire first, it made the enemies take cover and scattered the civilians, then I just smoked and fragged my way across the market, got to the VIP, fought off the counter attack and guided him to safety.
Making use of the sniper was really key in this map in order to not get civilian casualties.
But now with the CIA update, this map is easy.
What worked for me for 3 stars is I used 4 assault troops and immediately tossed 4 flashes over the way then right after that I had the sniper that they give u in that mission to take out the first rocket guy that was already aiming I took him out then immediately after took out the annoying guy in the window on the top side of the market then I had two assaults run up behind the barrier for cover then had the other 2 assaults push in the market 7/10 times it worked, right after all the enemies in the market are cleared out I started running the two assaults pushing through the market then got into defensive positions in the room with the vip and had the vip hide behind one of my assaults then pushed through the back right side of the map like shown in the video.
I have been trying to not watch YT vids of maps I haven't played, but I am at such a loss for how to haul enough ass on this one that I am making an exception.
you can literally stealth this one by just using the sniper with CIA and taking the most south west window out after grabbing the VIP
Was so sad to see you use your wall shot on that spot that doesn't work. In the future you can place em on the window/wall that you originally thought about just have to right click the guy your using to do it

Unrealistic: civilians weren't gunned down in an attempt to take out any possible enemy.

The speed at which they get to the VIP was an oversight IMO! It leaves little room for creative thinking in the mission. Definitely a fun mission though!

I play a milsim game called Operation Flashpoint: Red River. It's old, came out in 2013, but it's fun. Point is, I've tried to apply the principles I learn from these videos to that game. it doesn't always translate 1:1, but the basic principles are usually pretty sound. Thanks for making me a better player, Controlled Pairs.
Is there any difference between VIP and hostage, except that VIP is not tied down?
In my run I ignored the civilians and grenaded the market area before running in guns blazing

Lol...yeah this one is a bear. Good point on the randomness. You need to try each plan a couple times to make sure that you didn’t get a “bad” RNG enemy troop move. Challenging to be sure!
Hi, how I got three stars on this map is filling the market with smoke, blinding the terrorists and letting all the civs run out of the map, then set up a firing squad and started firing on the insurgents that most of the time were now looking the wrong way. I also made sure to target the executioners and keep ones that weren’t in line of site quite busy. This forced the ai to run into the market and get gunned down every time. By the time I pushed into the buildings there was one dude left that was just around the corner for me to kill.

but after securing the VIP, I think I'm in love with the way it went down...and the outro too, beautiful
FINALLY! I've been waiting for this one ever since the level came out. I haven't been able to complete it, so I'm excited to see how you approach this mission!
this was a hard level, but once you complete it, it's quite satisfying. only took me about five tries to beat it the first time, but probably closer to ten more to three star it, mainly because I kept sniping civilians in the first area.
I swear I had my guys sprinting for at least half this level

Most of the other maps seem challenging but doable with the number of guys you're given, but this one is just insane that you only get 4 people for this huge map with so many hostiles

The way I was able to get through this level was I smoked and flashed the market, basically bum rushed through it to the buildings, secured the vip and then cleared through the bottom building before wall charging my way back into the market and basically suppressed everything with 203s.
Same for me. I think this is only way to get 3 star for the map consistently.
