For the longest time I have said, “I trust Jesus, but I don’t trust myself”. While this should be comforting, it makes me anxious because I feel like I’m going to mess up. I want to make the right decisions. For example, which home should I put an offer on? Does it matter to Jesus? Should I stay single or date if someone shows interest? Should I switch careers? These decisions are hard sometimes. Thoughts? Thank you so much for sharing your understanding of salvation. It has opened my heart to a new way of looking at it. ❤

I prayed for my son for over one year, I made a pact with God that I would change my life for good and walk beside him if he granted this blessing, I also said I would name my son something biblical and dedicate him to his honor. I had my son after praying for a year and it happened quick. Now I walk closer to God, however, the relationship with his Dad didn’t work out but we are still good friends. I have now made another deal with him about sending me a good God fearing Christian man. I would remain celibate till he is ready to bless me in that regard, I feel we are always “wrestling” in some form. I do believe and I have held up for a long time and will continue. It is about surrendering and being grateful. I thought being celibate for years would be tough but it actually wasn’t at all. The power of Jesus!

All thoughts and imaginations are continually evil. What about my good thoughts? Like when I want to compliment someone. Or when I have a grateful thought. It's crazy how our adversary is able so subtly to cause us to be depressed and hopeless and defeated and ungrateful for the things that we should be extremely grateful and extremely thankful . I don't know if this is a question that can actually be answered but when I think on passages such as God takes with the enemy meant for evil and turns it for good and when I think about the concept of redemption using myself as an example I was a substance abuser for 15 years and extremely active sexually I have the baptism of God's Spirit. God has begun a good work in me well and also it says that God God will return whatever that enemy took from us he will give back to us a little more than what the enemy or maybe a lot I don't know the exact words and I'm paraphrasing I can't remember off the top of my head what the actual verse is but he says don't worry about with the enemy just took from you I'll repay you and I'll repay you with something better than what The enemy took. Just the current understanding I have so far is that we get adopted we get breastfed we get weaned off of the milk and start eating meat and as we mature in our spiritual growth and and our our faith and trust and dependency on God and not ourselves as that relationship becomes more and more united if I becoming more and more like the image of Christ and I'm patient and wait for God to make it obvious and apparent and like this couldn't be anything other than God I can't explain this gentle shoving that's happening for me to do something specific like be a drug counselor or go I don't know It seems like that's the redemption almost like if my past just remains how it was and it doesn't get used if I go the rest of my life and become a banker my past is kind of just in vanity It was suffering in vain we we don't have a choice in this life we don't have a choice to not suffer but we do get the free will to choose the kind of suffering we endure there's suffering that to use a metaphor or analogy I don't know what the figure of speech is but pressure creates diamonds you know the suffering of that pressure something good came out of it just like working out it keeps me physically healthy it sucks working out but good was the result was good and productive or I can choose to suffering of drug use and being a thief instead of working with my hands and not being patient for me to meet my wife and instead just going from girl to girl to girl to girl taking it out of my own passion to being fueled by my own will to have it now. You know I don't go run up and snatch the gifts out of the giver's hands That's not good manners that's rude you know I let them hand it to me with the let God hand us our gifts and not try to grab them out of his hand because we can't grab them out of his hand and he's not going to give it to us when we're not ready for it So whatever we end up grabbing is going to be out of whose hand there's only one other set of hands and it's the enemies and he makes things sparkly and shiny on the outside and poison on the inside now I'm rambling what I was going to say though is it would make sense to me that that is the my addiction to drugs that vanity of my life would just give Satan glory It would give him success So it makes sense to me that that's the general realm that I would expect God would want me to be going pursuing In my works that's where God would want to use me and I think we'd have to be very careful with this because if you do it on your own then Satan's just going to make it to where it's not the right situation or you're not ready yet and he's just going to get you back on the drugs but if it's done on God's time on his say and all that stuff well it would end up successful I wouldn't be giving back to drugs but that's yep I didn't use drugs drugs used me but by God's grace now I can use my use of drugs I can put I can put to use the drugs using me to help other people see the path and get off the one that they're running seek God's
Make no provisions for the flesh that means don't give yourself the availability don't enable yourself to be able to do the stuff so that's a sacrifice we have to make and it's one that we it's a loss that we should count as game because there's nothing to gain from sin but death and destruction and vain suffering

Just the current understanding I have so far is that we get adopted we get breastfed we get weaned off of the milk and start eating meat and as we mature in our spiritual growth and and our our faith and trust and dependency on God and not ourselves as that relationship becomes more and more united if I becoming more and more like the image of Christ and I'm patient and wait for God to make it obvious and apparent and like this couldn't be anything other than God I can't explain this gentle shoving that's happening for me to do something specific like be a drug counselor or go I don't know It seems like that's the redemption almost like if my past just remains how it was and it doesn't get used if I go the rest of my life and become a banker my past is kind of just in vanity It was suffering in vain we we don't have a choice in this life we don't have a choice to not suffer but we do get the free will to choose the kind of suffering we endure there's suffering that to use a metaphor or analogy I don't know what the figure of speech is but pressure creates diamonds you know the suffering of that pressure something good came out of it just like working out it keeps me physically healthy it sucks working out but good was the result was good and productive or I can choose to suffering of drug use and being a thief instead of working with my hands and not being patient for me to meet my wife and instead just going from girl to girl to girl to girl taking it out of my own passion to being fueled by my own will to have it now. You know I don't go run up and snatch the gifts out of the giver's hands That's not good manners that's rude you know I let them hand it to me with the let God hand us our gifts and not try to grab them out of his hand because we can't grab them out of his hand and he's not going to give it to us when we're not ready for it So whatever we end up grabbing is going to be out of whose hand there's only one other set of hands and it's the enemies and he makes things sparkly and shiny on the outside and poison on the inside now I'm rambling what I was going to say though is it would make sense to me that that is the my addiction to drugs that vanity of my life would just give Satan glory It would give him success So it makes sense to me that that's the general realm that I would expect God would want me to be going pursuing In my works that's where God would want to use me and I think we'd have to be very careful with this because if you do it on your own then Satan's just going to make it to where it's not the right situation or you're not ready yet and he's just going to get you back on the drugs but if it's done on God's time on his say and all that stuff well it would end up successful I wouldn't be giving back to drugs but that's yep I didn't use drugs drugs used me but by God's grace now I can use my use of drugs I can put I can put to use the drugs using me to help other people see the path and get off the one that they're running seek God's

Make no provisions for the flesh that means don't give yourself the availability don't enable yourself to be able to do the stuff so that's a sacrifice we have to make and it's one that we it's a loss that we should count as game because there's nothing to gain from sin but death and destruction and vain suffering
