2K20 is one of the worst recent 2Ks. The dribbling was completely stripped down from previous entries and most players were just abusing hopsteps, which were literally perfect in 2K19. All I had to do on my Slashing Point Forward was Kobe escape and I got an easy bucket 💀

In addition to free to play.. The items we earn and/purchase with VC should carry over year to year. We keep repurchasing the same cosmetics every year. In every other game, anything you purchase, you keep permanently.

Not gonna lie if they make 2k Free To Play that’s a MAJOR W for me and all the other people who only play PlayOnline/MyNBA. I’ve never, ever played in the Park. I originally only played 2k for MyCareer (no park) but after 2k20 I switched to MyLeague. This is a blessing in disguise lol
It’s a tad late in the year for them to make it free to get people to come back, but I agree it should most certainly be free. On top of that, the cost of vc to upgrade your players needs to be overhauled dramatically shouldnt be so high to max him out.
I'm actually also concerned about 2K's laziness when it comes to porting to the PC. While I may dislike EA and their practices, they actually ported FIFA 23's next-gen version to PC, so it literally took them like a year to change their minds. 2K on the other have been releasing the last-gen version of the NBA games for 3 years now(well, if we consider that for 2K21 the next-gen version came later, it kinda makes sense, but it doesn't make sense for 2K22 and 2K23)
PC players are basically getting a barebones version of 2K23. No city, no MyNBA. You do get the Jordan Challenge, but that mode isn't so immersive either. It's just basically 2K20 with a roster update and Jordan Challenge slapped on it to have the "tribute to his career"

I saddens me to see the outrageous pricing for VC, I don’t have the time to grind the game to be able to have a usable character in the park or even my career. So this year is the first time not playing. I actually considered trying out the PGA tour 2k23 instead.

Im so happy that this topic is gaining traction. I've been saying the same shit since 2k18. Instead of releasing iterations every year, they should make it a progression type thing. Kind of like a basketball mmo, where you can upgrade characters, buy clothes, dribbles moves, etc without needing to buy a new game every year. We would get bi/tri monthly patches and new things inputted into the game. This would be so great for the 2k community and for many of those who can't afford to play park, whether its due to time commitment to spending money on vc. I hope this happens but with 2k having no other competetion, they have no incentive to change.

There’s dozens of reasons but the most obvious one is price, no one wants to buy a full price game (that doesn’t work most of the time) and then put more and more money in every time they want to try a new build, then spend hours grinding badges etc etc. The game at the end of the day just doesn’t respect your time or your money and is just a giant cash grab, I get it’s the only basketball game but I hope more people wake up to this.
