Mine had that sound. I just drove it till it stopped making the noise. It’s fine
i put duratrax faze tires on mine and it made a noticeable difference. the factory tires were spinning quite a bit more than i realized. havent touched my baja since i bought the vorteks.
Duratrax are 12mm , did you changed the hexes on the car?
Main weak spot is the motor mount plate. My gear mesh was set way too tight from factory and provided me with a very similar sound like this one.
No. Joe That’s normal sound for those. You’re good 👍 they are actually great little cars. Go up on the pinion. Stock is a bit weak lol. Get the steal motor Mount/brace. That’s the weak spot.
i have one, i disagree
As others have said on here, the Arrma 3s line has problems with the stock motor mount plate bending, flexing, and throwing off the gear mesh. Once the mesh goes, the front bearing on the motor usually is soon to follow. The M2C motorcycle is plate is supposed to help a lot when it comes to reliability.
I've thought about getting one to really crank up!
I guess you drove the wheels of it!!!😂👍😁
Hey Joe! Watch the comparison video from Amain with the vortex and the rustler. It won't wheely unless you get on the throttle a lil bit first then hit it hard and then it will wheely unlike there Traxxas Rustler which will wheely right of the gate
Once you open that pinion/spur housing you’ll want to do the M2C motor mount upgrade probably the best upgrade you can do on the Aarma 3s range
Check to see if the esc is programmable. Also check the slipper clutch.
Ripped my rear right CVD apart doing wheelies on asphalt. Not very happy that it broke in 10 minutes. I'm running 3s.
Definitely wanna see what you do too it. It's gonna need new drive shafts as it is a week spot..
Tighten the slipper a tad, up the punch all the way, then you'll know how tough that plastic drivetrain is! I run my Typhon 3s on 4s with an 18T pinion and bashed the F*** outta it and the entire drivetrain is still holding up just fine!
exactly like a cheaply made Redcat dukono with plastic shocks!
A little lock tight and it will be fine. My senton and vortek both had the wheels fall off like that. There decent for 3s. They don’t handle up on 4s if you upgrade
Handles 4s fine
That noise you hear is the input gear on your rear diff. Upgrade part ara311072 they are steel gears.
The slipper clutch is known to have issues. I would take it apart and check it.
TOAD here, that mild take off is the slipper clutch ive had every 3s arrma just about an they all are that way also, the reason everything just seems tight an bound up run one of your 1/10 with a center DIFF an you will see what i mean i think all 1/10 an up should have a center DIFF (ALSO BIG FAN!)
It’ll check that. It’s very mild for sure
All the 3s line from arrma you have to take apart the drive shafts and loctite the screws. Yes set the punch to 5 and it will take off better. My big rock with the bigger tires and 15t pinion is a wheelie machine.
I heard somewhere that the stock esc can be programmed with a hobbywing program card, is it true or do you need to do the program button
@@restinpiecesrc5528 I don’t know. I have one never tried. Using the button is pretty easy. There are videos that explain the process.
@@bapasrcadventures3619 yeah i know, i think razor rc does one, my senton is on 6s running 2150kv 3670 and 120a 6s esc
@@restinpiecesrc5528 I use the included program card from nax8 combo on stock blx100/185 and used it on pals infraction v2 stock 6s spektrum esc 🥸
@@gonzodetroitify so it does work
Servicing the pinion and spur is very convenient. One screw under the chassis and screw driver pops the motor mount and motor right out. With a little pull on the tabs marked "pull" and a bit of a pop with a screw driver should do the trick. 😎✌️
Oh! And remove the drive shaft first!
Need to ad loctite to wheel axles rite out of the box. I had similar sound from my vorteks coming from the input gear and differential crown gear being meshed really tight. Once the plastic gears broke in the sound went away. Same thing with my senton 3s when it was new. if no problems are found it might need some more break in time. ✌
With my senton 3s I Left the Diff yolk screws a half a turn or so out from tight to help. That advice will make sense when you take the diff apart. sorry for the long explanation.
Yea all them screws to the hub need loctite. They should have from the factory
needs a 17T pignion and youre golden!! that odd noise must be a small rock or dust in the mesh.... happy bashing
All the diff gears ring and pinion and plactice that the sound u here
Bad little basher it took some hard hits 👌💯
2 upgrades worth on those, alu pivot balls cos plastic ones wear too quick and shooocks, 3s arrmas fit most of 8th scale buggy shocks and damn they drive so much better with them. Have some in my budget granite now.
I have one of these and yes the punch is turned down.. Not meant to wheely out of the gate ( like the Granite or Big Rock ) but can do 55mph ish on stock gearing .
I pop wheelies all the time with mine well on asfalt or hard ground. Lost three wheels. So I lock tightened them back in my friend went through 5 pinion gears I went through one think I’ll buy the metal ones off horizon hobby. Oh my front bearing went out on the motor so took out my ryft electronics and motor so now it’s a 4 s. Lol. Different tires would be good.
Love doing wheelies with this car, I just put some duratrax lockup mt’s on it so the wheelies should be easier maybe? Idk haha
I love my vortek made mine 6s with the max 8 combo and love it made sure I change all my plastic gears to metal also updated all my drivetrain as well never had a single issue beside breaking arms here and there jumping it 20ft doing backflips lmao 🤣
Have you ever reviewed the Team Associated Rival MT10 Joe? Its an awesome 1/10 basher and i think its a good rival for the Vorteks.
How is it a good rival, its 15mph slower out of the box.
The m3 bolts come loose on those all the time, just need to loctite the m3
Put some 2.2/3.0 proline badlands tires in the senton 3s and you'll get wheelies any time you want pretty much
And that noise is normal. All the vorteks have that loud clicking sound
14mm upgrade with proline tires will give you wheelies for days..
The Prolines come in 14mm, why are you going 17mm?
@@dalelc43 ment 14mm typo..lol
Some badlands buggy mx tires would be awesome
Sounds like a plastic gear was clicking the whole video? Do these have the plastic ring and pinion gears like all the other 3s?
yeah its box stock
Input gear and diff main gear are plastic and come from the factory meshed very tightly and need some break-in. I had this happen to my vorteks in the back diff and also in my senton 3s front and rear diffs.
Nice
& obviously, horizon hobby despises any type of locktite. Always wanna check ALL driveline components b4 1st run.
I had similar problems. I found all the 3s lineup from arrma to be fragile. Sold them all.
I know what else
Drive shafts
I have one. Mine doesn’t make that noise. I bought one just because. But I wouldn’t suggest it to any one. For a little more money a better rc can be bought. Plus that spectrum radio rx+tx! Is garbage. When you look closer at it. It’s built on a tight budget.
Are
You like saying mild alot. You must hear that alot from the old lady
she like it mild
These 3s Arrmas are weak. I've had to put a few upgrades and lots of $ to make my V3 Granite BLX more durable.
