    Multi power tractors need to be split, no multi power pump just lifts out of the top

  • @chrisfleming5109

    if you are needing to remove your hydraulic pump don't split your tractor because it's not necessary . just remove your PTO shaft from the rear then you can slide the pump back enough to lift it straight up out the top. easy really.

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  7 місяців тому

      This pump will not come out of this model tractor without splitting the tractor cuz you have to take it out to the front it will not come out of the top trust me I tried every which way

      @@Tomcat71 in your video when you were trying to remove the pump why did you not remove the PTO shaft as per Massey Ferguson instructions? if you had it would come out the top. I have done it that way for 40 years.

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  7 місяців тому

      It wasn't because of the shaft. There wasn't enough clearance on the sides.

      @@Tomcat71 you have to slide it back about 1" this allows you to twist it then tip the back of the pump vertical the out she comes.

    I have a 1965 MF 180 that looks very similar.. I was under the impression that I had to split the tractor to get pump out. My question is can I remove the pump on the Model 180 without splitting the tractor.

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  Місяць тому

      I've never had a 180 so I have no idea what it would take to get the pump out but you more than likely are going to have to split the tractor

  • @kdiddy1310
    @kdiddy1310 Рік тому +1

    Is this the same as a massey 50? I'm installing a new pump on my mf 50 and it's like there's just barely not enough room to get the pump in place. I'm thinking I will have to break the tractor in half as well.

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  Рік тому +2

      It's pretty similar you're probably going to have to split the tractor it's not a bad job

  • @badas95Z

    Is that the multipower clutch pack right there where the tractor is split?

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  Рік тому +1

      Yes that is the multipower housing that's still attached to the bellhousing side of the tractor

    • @badas95Z
      @badas95Z Рік тому

      @CSX_Rockford007 so that has to be replaced from the other side? I have a 165 multipower and the multipower doesn't work(didn't when I bought the tractor). It also came with a loader that's not installed on the tractor so I'm wondering if the secondary pump is bad.

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  Рік тому +1

      To do the multi-power clutches you'll have to pull the rest of the transmission off of the back of the engine to be able to reach the bolts in the bell housing area it's almost a complete tractor teardown to work on that. There is a guy on UA-cam here called bear Bundy shed and he does a real good breakdown on replacing multipower clutches on a 135

    Hi.
    I have a model, Massey Ferguson 135 made in 1978, can you help me with some clues (or some indications how to aprooch the problem ) regarding the below problem. My tractor haze a problem with hydraulic system. It's lifting the plow or other weights with the tie rod, but when I stop the engine, or when I push the clutch pedal the weights are going down. If there is nothing in the tie rod and I stop the engine the tie rods are staying up for one or two days, time in witch they are slowly coming down. Can you tell me if this problem is occurring from hydraulic pump (valves etc.) or it's from hydraulic piston (the segments of the piston head need to be changed)? The rest parts of the hydraulic works ok, the pto is also working fine. One thing I noticed that when I start the tractor and I lift a plow (for example), it's lifting it more quickly when the oil inside is cold and it's taking a little longer to do that after I'm working (plowing) with the tractor and the oil temperature from hydraulic system is higher.
    Thank you verry much!

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  Рік тому +1

      When is the last time you changed the transmission oil?

    • @razmangeorgelucian5511

      @@Tomcat71
      Thank you for the answer.
      That is my first tractor and nobody told me when the transmission oils must be changed. When I bought the tractor a couple of years ago, the gui that helped me choosing the tractor, told me that the oil seems to be new and that I don't have to replace it. And since than I didn't change it. So the first step I shell do is to change the oil, isn't so? May be when I do this, I can also check the position of the hydraulic levers and the oil filter and also the bottom of the carcasse for debriefs?
      I use the tractor more as a hobby in comparison with farmers, because I'm only working the family land in the afternoons or weekends and it's not a big amount of land, plowing and using the disk are the hardest works for it.

    • @Tomcat71
      @Tomcat71  Рік тому

      It never hurts to change it if you'll give me a little bit of time today I will find out what the hour interval is for changing that transmission fluid it should be just straight up SAE 30 weight non detergent oil

      @badas95Z Рік тому +1

      Do you have the 2 stage clutch? If you press halfway or so you can change gears and whatnot but if you press all the way down it stops the hydraulics so you can engage the pto. If you push all the way down with any weight on the 3 point arms it's going to come down because the hydraulics stop.

    • @razmangeorgelucian5511
      @razmangeorgelucian5511 8 місяців тому

      @@badas95Z Hi
      Thank you verry much for information.
      I don't have the two stage clutch,(or at list is nor working like this) because when I have to change gears, I have to push the pedal all way down and the pto stops when I do this. I noticed than when I have heavy loads, or when I use the pto, changing gears is harder, I have to put some force in order to take it ought of the gear in comparison with no load or really small loads.
      But also if the clutch is one stage only, I believe that the hydraulic stops when the pedal is pressed to the bottom, and because the oil in hydraulic system is quite old and may be haze some water in it, this can be the reason why it goes down faster.
      I want to replace it in this autumn, can you suggest me what viscosity shall I use?

      Every video I've seen about removing the top cover tells you to take that roller out so it doesn't fall in the bottom of the case it's not a problem if it falls in if you're going to remove the pump but if you're not removing the pump you better take that roller out so you don't lose it

I’m 68 years old a mechanic and pressure pipe ticketed welder still working full time as I enjoy being productive,but I have to say I wouldn’t let you near my shop with your untidiness and foul mouth. Thanks and good luck maybe I just wasted your time and mine sorry if I did !!!
