It’s the mini documentary I’ve been waiting for! Let’s go NASAspaceflight! Thanks for making this! You guys are amazing!
I also apreciate the clear, and unders tandable explanation. 💁
You guys made 2021 so much better and give me something to look forward to every day! Thank you so much!
cant wait for the orbital launches!
Easy to forget how much has been done. Nice review.
It really amazes me that you guys and gals can dedicate so much time too covering what is going on with SpaceX, Starship, Starbase and still manage to cover everything else going on in the space industry. Y'all are truly titans at what you do, your love and enthusiasm for space really shows in all of your content. With everything going on in the world, it's such a breath of fresh air seeing the amazing things humans are capable of achieving reported on. It's one of the few things that makes me hopeful for the future.
Thank you so much, here's hoping 2022 is even better!
Out of all the tests and rocket launches in 2021 sn15 just completely blew me away ! hoping everyone a great 2022 !
I fully expect the Robert's Road facility to be closer to a more traditional rocket factory. In fact, I would not be surprised if instead of three tents, low bay, mid bay, high bay and wide bay there was two or three buildings next to each other used for the construction of Ships and Boosters.
The main building would have a footprint much larger than the combined buildings at Boca Chica, and be between the low bay and mid-bay in height, A second building would be even larger than the wide bay. A possible third building would be slightly shorter than the high bay but still tall enough to fully stack a ship.
Coils of steel, engines, and other supplies would arrive at one end of the main Starship factory with completed Ships and Boosters leaving the other end.
Great work guys 2021 was a awesome year and couldn't have watched it unfold with out you all @nasaspaceflight so thank you and heres to 2022 its going to be out of this world🚀🌔🚀🔴🤞🤑🎊🎉
17:57 it only lit 2 engines because the avionics detected a slightly lower than nominal CH4 header tank pressure, so it avoided an SN8 situation by only lightning 2 engines.
Interesting. Could you link a source?
@@Jona69 I can’t link it because I can’t find it, but I believe it was a post from Elon or another insider.
SN8 also lit 2 engines... not sure how the rationale process go to claiming this but it makes no sense tbh
@@ale131296 SN8 intended to light 2 engines from the beginning, but spacex changed to 3 engines at SN10. Iirc, there was also some commentary on the official live stream which stated that there were supposed to be 3 engines lit, switching down to 1 or 2 after the flip.
@@elta-8972 I know that, still it doesn't line up with what the guy is saying. If the pressure in the header tank is low, it'll be low for 1, 2, or 3 engines. It doesn't matter if you light as many engines as you want, the engines will just go engine rich and won't produce thrust.
Thank you @theJackByer @NASASpaceflight for putting this together, it's great to see! When you watch every day, you're like a frog in a pot and don't necessarily notice everything that's going on...
It is absolutely insane how fast spacex is pulling this off. Meanwhile my state, California, has been working on building a train since 2003... Still don't even have a train.
Just some info on BN3. The part cut off was the methane tank, this previously meant that the oxygen tank had to be pressurised and therefore monitored. I’m sure they removed the methane tank section to be able to leave BN3 as long as they want and not have to give any care in the world about how it is doing and not worrying about high winds etc..
Thank you and for this great community! It’s nice hearing your voice!
More in a year than anyone has done in a decade
You folks just produce the best content. Well done on your coverage thus far and I look forward to even more in 2022. On the ground footage from Mary and Nick are always fascinating to watch. I am amazed that they are still allowed to post this material.
Jack, thanks for that great recap on Starship testing and more. Really puts it in perspective when you can see all the progress done so far.
NASASpaceflight! Keep dooing, what youre doing! You make a documentary about a history! Very detailed and interesting videos! Each morning I start my day with looking your video about Starship progress! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Jack. That was awesome. Thanks Mary and Nic for the Pics and Vids. Thank you Das for the fleet of happy little bots :)
Haven't even watched it yet but already hit that like button on here cause i know it's going to be great!
Thanks for all the great content and happy new year guys!
I'm still sad that we couldn't see SN11 blow up. Would have been one of the coolest RUD's of all time.
What?
Big thanks to NSF for all the coverage! Watching NSF's reports about SpaceX and related activities has become a daily routine now, which I cannot miss anymore 🙂
Great work as always 👏. Here's to lighting that candle in 2022!
Thank you for this video, 2021 has been an amazing year for starship, and I can’t for what 2022 holds!!
You give the most coherent description of SpaceX Channels
Excellent job Jack and team. Looking forward to 2022. NSF, you rock!
Great recap! Loved the music too :) Thanks for keeping us all up to date with the happenings at Boca Chica! Can't wait to see what happens this year! :)
Fantastic story Jack. @nasaspaceflight coverage has been a joy to watch. Thanks all. 👍✌️🖖💨
Excellent work boys. Loved the yearly wrap up. Thank you.
Mind Blown! Thanks for the recap! :)
Thank you for all updates.
Great video guys!
Thank you for covering it all. You’re doing a phenomenal job!
What a great recap. I'm so very thankful of the time and effort y'all put in to keep us all informed about what's going on in Boca Chica and everything Space. Onward to !
Great work guys! Thanks for the review.

Great video Jack. And a big thank you to Mary for providing all the material for it! Awesome.
For these masterpieces a like is fully deserved!
Thanks for all de coverage on this exciting space career so people from all over the world like me (Chile) can access on first row to history being made. Hope to catch more great news and launches through all 2022. Thanks again!
Great video Jack! Thank you!
I am just amazed ... at how much stuff went on that I completely missed. Great review and Happy New Year. Thanks for your efforts.
Imagine all the stuff that we don’t even know about.
Well done, great video, love your coverage, was awsome to see the complete progress of starbase and starship. Keep it up, i will continue to watch. Have a fantastic new year everyone, i wish you and your families all the best. 👍🍺🇬🇧
Great work!
Great one year recap! Thanks for an excellent crew who obviously enjoy everything space and, especially, Spacex. Keep up the great work.
awesome recap of 2021 cant wait for the 2022 recap the future is looking good
SpaceX is essentially reinventing the rocket engine and learning how to make it even more efficient with each iteration. I'm really glad SpaceX is ambitious as they are. They celebrate what they have accomplished while improving what already works well. They're giving the middle finger to the phrase, "If it's not broke, don't fix it." and I love it! Can't wait to continue to watch milestones conquered!
What a fantastic summary of a fantastic story. Nice work guys and gals of NSF.👍
So great to see you guys getting sponsors after all this hard work and dedication to giving us daily updates on starship progress. Keep up the great work guys!
They deliberately chose not to get commercial sponsors. NSF has relied on our donations until now, why the change?
@@jfh9209 while im not in the know to their business model, its smart to have additional income, since donations can dry up when ppl start to lose interest. But if they have more plans for there channel or want more hires, this is a good first step imo.
@@tyler60904 More hires? I thought they were all volunteers.
@@jfh9209 they probably are, but maybe they want to do it full time. In which case would need more income. Pay checks, travel, and equipment costs a lot so i doubt donations alone can cover it right now.
@@ForeverNeverwhere1 How do commercial sponsors make them "more legit"?
I've been wondering about susceptibility of the Boca Chica facilities to hurricane force winds and tidal surge. Any thoughts on the matter?
Thanks for that roundup ...good job 👍🤛👌
Fabulous video, thanks to you all.
Really great work as always!
Great video, thanks guys
Very cool retrospective, great work as usual guys, and thanks for the entertainment!
Thank you for posting this year in review video! I greatly appreciate everyone on the NSF team for the amazing work and dedication to this program. It's amazing to look back and see how much the Starship program has advanced in just a year. Go SpaceX, go Starship!
Love your work Jack. Here's to more of the same in 2022.
Great job Jack and the entire NSF team... you guys have turned all 5 of my children into Texas tank watcher for life
Thank you so much for making this mini documentary about what happened this year. It wasn’t too long or too short. I’ve been focused quite a bit on my university work and distracted by some things at the end of 2021 for over two months, so I’ve missed out on quite a few videos and this has helped me to recap on a few final things. Here’s to an even better year in 2022.
Thanks guys for this beautiful video! And thank you so much for all your amazing lifestreams of Texas Tankwatching😉! To many more! Thanks for all you do! 2022 is going to be even better for Starship and all other Rockets🚀🤩❤️
This is such an excellent review, thanks so much for all the time and effort that was put into this. Fantastic narration also really completes this, great work 👍
Nice summary!
Thank you so very much for all you do and your coverage
What an incredible recap..
Fantastic!! Superb narration with enthusiasm and great video editing to chronicle what is probably the greatest year ever in space stuff.
Thanks so much for keeping it tight, factual. Marvelously created and performed.
Thanks for summary!
Great video!
This is fantastic content!
This is brilliant! Would love to see more
Hold up...the top section of the launch tower was put on in July?!?! It seems like it was just a few weeks ago! My goodness how the time has flown by
Mr. Jack Beyer, you did a fantastic job presenting all this info to us. Thank you very much sir :) Also, I commend all of your constituents for the preparation of the images, video and content.
Good video! A lot has happened, and been built, in one year!
Amazing!
Hi guys thanks for your continuing videos off space x and the space industry and a happy new year David 🚀🙏🇬🇧❤️
Thanks!
Greetings, I really enjoyed your video, it is well done. Thank you
FINALLY......a summary, Thank you so much, this clip will end the ENDLESS bickering amongst my engineering students/consultants and co workers as to what happened when and where as UNCLE ELON and team move so fast its difficult to keep track. Happy new year Nasa Spaceflight team, keep the updates coming, love ja all........( To Mars and Beyond....Hurry up Elon)
I have acquired new patience thanks to this video!
Orbital attempt is necessarily March at the very earliest - since FAA has set a date late in Feb for their environmental analysis. Considering usual delays, a few more technical challenges, etc, I'd put my money on Q3 or Q4
Beautiful video. I religiously followed the production and launch of sn8, 9, 10, 11, and 15, along with their respective gse. I even watched sn8, 9, and 15 while on the clock at my job.. Didn't get cought though, worth it. After the succusful landing of 15 though, I got busy, and stopped following. I also remember being ridiculously curious as to what the "mystery structure" was. Glad to finally know.
You blink and miss some crazy progress at Starbase. This video is like a "previously" at the beginning of a new episode of a show. Thanks!
This is mind-blowing stuff... so inspiring...
It’s been one hell of a ride. Thanks Elon musk. Spacex. Nsf. And the fantastic work by Mary and nic at Boca chica. Thanks xx
Great video
Great quality, love this mini documentary! NASASpaceflight is the best!
Really good summary.
Can’t wait for heavy launch 👍 amazing work and exciting times for all.
Excellent !
Amazing to see the progression. It’s history before our eyes.
Thanks interesting content!
Cant wait for the 1st orbital flight
love seeing you guys be sponsored now! keep up the great work guys
Thank you all, you've done a lot of great work in 2021! :)
A great revise of an amazing year of activity. So much achieved by a great team of workers knowing their business. All could not have been appreciated if not for Mary & Nic. Those two should have their own bar & facilities for 2022. 🇦🇺😎
I can't wait to watch "Why Starship didn't reach orbit in 2022"
The history of the rockets , which developed bigger and bigger, was so exciting and breathtaking.
Only some of which failed and exploded ,but the same thing never happened. Amazing and impressing.
18:45 "it features three raptor engines" i believe you mean six. three normal and three vacuum optimized once.
Ooooo fast version, niice
This is the best starship summary online.
Love the video!
And awesome that you guys know have a Sponsor.
more money = more robots 🤖
seeing pictures of the full stack ship20 booster 4 always gives me shivers & amazes my mind how spaceX keeps growing day by day! Rooting for a successful year for Starship/SpaceX
Oh nice channel sponsors! (yes i know ads suck, but its good for the channel!)
Wau, that space port is really on line with sea. Do they have plans what to do, when sea will rise?
maybe they don't believe the sea level will rise
@@johngunderson5463 Science works even if you don't believe in it :]
When it happens, the first problem will be the frequently flooded access "highway". The fab & launch facilities will still be high and dry for quite a while.
I love your guys narrated videos...I follow to many channels...how do I know when videos are just compiled footage vs narrative observations?
