I didnt even thought, that there is a channel dedicated to endurance racing. I am positively surprised :D Thank you for all the details about Rexys race :) I have watched the full broadcast, but of course even there it is not covered that good. I was really rooting for Laurin, because I talked to him a couple of times during the last years at the races here in Germany (Carrera Cup, DTM). I was so happy for him at the end of the race. Of course they had to hope for the Lambo and the Ferrari to finish ahead of the AM, but that was just possible due to Laurins Pole, that gave him just enough points to be in that situation. A very well deserved title after such a strong season! And for sure I will be back to this channel in the future :)
There's a lot of channels that cover this sort of stuff actually, just gotta find them in the void that is yt lol. A lot of them are very good too, ranging from racing history to breakdowns like this
Seeing Andlauer find a workaround by shortshifting and working in the higher gears is really cool. This team just doing everything they can to fight through this race is awesome. Lets go Rexy!
This was incredible! I can't imagine how much work it was scrubbing through 10 hours of onboards from multiple perspectives to put this together, but well done!
The folks at AO Racing owe Risi Competizione a metric fuckton of drinks for keeping the #23 HOR Vantage Evo stuck in 3rd & handing Rexy the championship
As always AMAZING video and narrative told with the excitement and passion that we all treasure as sports car racing fans! I got to attend this race live and one thing you really understand by going to them is how thankful you are to all of the manufactures, teams, gentleman drivers, sponsors and vendors for coming out and going racing and making such a great experience possible. AO racing has such awesome fan engagement. In the couple of years they have been in IMSA they have become debatably the most popular team in the paddock. Their line for autographs was longer that the corvette line- something I have ever seen. All of the other teams were having relatively quiet and boring signing sessions- Rexy was throwing a rave! I hope you have a video in the works for the overall winning 01 Caddy and their incredible and improbable winning story.
I couldn't agree more! Petit is such an incredible event. What AO racing has done to bring more fans into the sport cannot be understated. Thats incredible to hear that they had a longer line than Corvette! That must be a first in IMSA
Amazing video once again! The onboards looked really tough, the drivers doing their best but nothing happening. Still a really good performance by Andlauer to drive around the problem. At the end thet kept going and are the derserved GTD Pro champions 🏆
the elbows out racing between the risi and rexy brings a smile to my face, i dont even remember seeing that on the broadcast so thanks for showing it and any chance for a video on the 01s comeback?
Thank you for the season! I went to watch in person and it's really scary to see Rexy slowing down for half an hour and stopped in the track although I am a corvette and Cadi fan. Maybe we can get a video of 01 Cadi?
I absolutely love this style of video with commentary and all! I might actually prefer it to most videos where they kinda just go through the story hitting bullet points. Great stuff!
This might be the most painful race for AO Racing, but the good side is now they have the experience to fix the mistake for the 24 hours of Daytona (and other races like 12h of Sebring too) so that they didn't have to lost couple laps finding the problem. This race basically pure praying to god moment!
Another banger thanks for the GTD recap 👌 I was really rooting for another Acura win and for WTR to break the curse but nothing says PLM like a race deciding crash barely being caught on camera
Had to be a loose connection, that downhill right hander must be pulling the connection as it experiences negative G's. Removing the cover and re-seating the wire seemed to work.
Sorry guys for asking, but do I see the following correctly? Starting at roundabout 20:44. At this point the 62 is the race leader and Rexy is 5 laps down. Andlauer overtakes him and gets a lap back. And in the following laps, the 62 sends it multiple times on a car that is 5 laps down, outbrakes himself almost every single time and then tries to force Andlauer off and once almost in the wall. If i wouldnt know that Rexy was 5 laps behind, i would guess this would be the final minutes of a 24h, where both cars would be 1-2. But in this situation with almost 4h on the clock, wtf Pier Guidi? xD
Bro I love ur videos but how could you forget when the proton mustang spun at 5 and got hit by the leading #10 acura, or when the #01 cadillac went half a lap without headlights. Amazing video though
Sorry but Rexy did not defy the odds, they came in as championship leaders by a massive margin, it would be defying the odds if the Heart of Racing had taken P2 off the Risi Ferrari
The title was meant to be in regards to the 2024 season as a whole not just Petit Le Mans. A non factory team beating Corvette, Ford and Lexus factory teams in their first year in the Pro category is a pretty big underdog story IMO.
The odds were definitely against rexy in this race too. They did come in with a huge lead but their car failed them and had they not worked so hard to diagnose and get it going again, they would've lost the chip easily. Im not sure about this but if for example the #14 didn't dnf and finished ahead of rexy that could've swung the chip into the #23's favor. There's something about it that feels so right for them to win, plus they were a customer team beating the likes of the factory giants.
Seeing Rexy down on turn 11 not being able to shift up is so so painful
Nails on a chalkboard for minutes on end watching him try to get the shifting wire to feed.
Your narration, attention to detail, and analysis of the race is amazing. It makes me realize how tense and exciting these races really are

This was better than “Formula 1 Drive to survive” on Netflix. Thank you for making this…I would have had no idea this amazing story existed!

So happy for Rexy and the AO crew. Well deserved.
At 13:18 my first thought was that the ferrari was a blinker, but then i remembered this is real life
😂

broke down when the emotions of Heinrich finally exploded in the final seconds of the race. Absolutely amazing, this race and your video!
I hope you do a video on that Cadillac. It was absolutely insane. I was at that race.
I second this. That comeback after those early struggles with cinematic as hell
So I was I. Petit Le Mans 3 years in a row now
What a nightmare for the 77 and somehow they still do just enough for the chip! congrats and great video!

What a race to end of the season eh! Top notch content as per usual brother - keep up the great work! 💯👍
This race must have felt like one huge nightmare for AO Racing
I can't imagine how stressful it was for them
My day is instantly made better when Mr. grooved slick posts a vid
great stuff, please keep covering enduro racing content for a long time!

are you gonna make a video on the caddy too? that comeback was insane...👀
🤔🤔 😉
yes pls!

Awesome commentary! Completely relevant at every turn. A lot of emotion watching the problems with Rexy...Keep it coming...
Great stuff as always
I was at the race and missed a lot of the small details as they struggled. I thought there was no way for them to come back, but they did, epic.
If there is anything I learned from this, it's that Alessandro Pier Guidi is a dirty driver and will try to kill you before letting you overtake.
Love this 😎
as a heart of racing fan, petit le mans gave me hope and then ripped it right out of me
You make awesomee content!
Thank you for another great video!
Love your vids very informative and so much passion you have for the sport keep it up🎉
Brillaint racing brilliant commentary 😮

you can prob get a few videos out of the road ATL race. Being there it was a great race in multiple classes.
@groovedslick amazing video, you GOTTA do one for the
GTP finish this year aswell!
The funny thing is that fanatec was on bmw, not porsche 😂😂😂
Great video boss.

Thats exactly what I was thinking too
That what I would do be in the next gear before going down the hill
I really want to add that Laurin is right now Top3 GT3 Driver
He IS SO FAST

those white gloves andlauer has are amazing
I know I'm sooo tempted to get a pair 😅
Lovely documentation💯🔥 Also where do you watch these races? Is there an app?
why was the gearbox always messing up at the same turn everytime?
Probably was a loose connection somewhere in the wiring and the combination of g forces of the final corner probably triggered the error every time.
0:07 mate, which track is that?
Laguna seca
@@GroovedSlick im confused that does not look like Laguna Seca. There is grass?
Road Atlanta
Blow-by-blow commentary better than that of this or any sport.
Make a video on the Bathurst 12 hour!
THE CAR IS FUCKED. I’d be so frustrated.
Where Can you watch these Races? ESPN?
NBC
seems a little sus... like the gearbox is being remotely hacked every time rexy gets over that hill...
could Rexy have retired, and with the Aston still in 3rd, would they still have won?
No, they would have lost by 6 points if they had retired
what is going on with the Ferraris lights at 4:00. That seems super distracting and dangerous
Also helps when you have the assistance of BOP the entire season :)
Pier guidi again …
What’s the issue?
