To me, 844's current whistle sounds just like SP&S 700's whistle. I miss her old whistle, i know it was worn from years of use but; I wish they'd take the whistle from sister engine 838 and mount it on her instead. And i wish they would repaint her smokebox to silver, extend the pinstripes on the running boards to the smoke deflectors & put the mars light back on so she would look the way she did back in 1981 when she was still numbered 8444.

Well, back in July, many of us learned that the whistle 844 wore here was actually 4014's service whistle.

i always loved watching the UP 6936 bouncing all over the tracks due to how long the locomotive is.
