Kawasaki KLR 650 Deep Water Crossing

- Our ride through the Onion Mountain area of Southern Oregon had been one for the books. We started the day off in cold foggy conditions but once we rode above the fog, we had a day of sunshine and open trails.
Then we came to Briggs Creek unexpectedly. This was our first time on this route and were well over an hour in. Turning around would have us riding home in the dark due to the time. So with a prayer and faith in the KLR 650, I went in to over 3 feet of rushing water and successfully crossed to the other side.
This was after I had to run across the creek in cold water to rescue my buddy who had just attempted the crossing but fell short of solid ground. In hindsight, we should have turned around and rode home in the dark dry and warm. It was a chilly ride home.
Tractor on... Great call with advice for speed... Those situations momentum is your friend... !!!!
Absolutely, I knew if I throttled off, I would be swimming but the Pig did great getting through that water
