Hi Sir my t8 lite just won't bind to radiomaster r81 receiver, please help I've been doing everything right and according to the manual!!! Been waiting for 2 months for all the parts and this happen I'm so frustrated right now
Yes it's tricky, have to get the right sequence. Turn on radio, power on the receiver. Push the radio bind button to get single beep sequence, then push the receiver bind button. Unplug and replug the reciever. I dont have an R81 but this works with an R86
Doin it tough mate,,, Bet ya can't wait to get into your new house and get back to some normality. Try not to add too much more baggage before you leave though... Cheers Andrew.
Hi Andrew, nice video ! I'm starting RC again after a loooong pause of about 30 years... I got a 2nd hand Easyglider to start with and a 2nd hand T8 lite as a radio (waiting for the Zorro as my main RC...). BUT, I found out that there is no (visible) trim settings, so how do you fly gliders with this radio, if you do so... Without trims ??? And how could I manage the 2 independant servos for the ailerons ? Sorry If I use the wrong terms in english, I'm from France... Thank you in advance.
Hi Florian. No trims or separate ailerons with this radio. Have to adjust pushrod lengths manually and use a Y Lead for ailerons until you get your Zorro
@@AndrewNewton Hi Andrew, Thanks a lot, that was my concern... So if I understand well, I have to find the right settings by hand, on the model itself. As for the mix on the ailerons your advice is to connect both servos to the same Rx output ? How could I use it for the "roll" of the plane ? I guess this is difficult... As an electronics technician, I could easily add some "trim pots" to the gimbals, as they use analogue voltage !
@@florianperrin8424 Aileron servos should be mounted in opposite orientations, so the same signal will make one go up and the other go down. Yes you could add trim pots with your knowledge. The gimbals are just pots themselves.
@@AndrewNewton OK,that's what I'm gonna do...When I'll get the Zorro, I'll pass it to my 11-year old daughter, to give her the virus of RC 😅 One last question; what do you use the T8 for then ? Many thanks, have a nice day...
@@AndrewNewton Hi Andrew, yes they are mounted in oppsite direction. I tried to connect both servos to the channel dedicated to ailerons in parallel, but no movement... This output work only if one is connected, seems that the PPM signal is too weak when in parallel... any idea ? The receiver is Frsky V8R7-II. I just opened up the T8 Lite; there's room inside, but I don't know if it is worth doing the mod. Better to wait for a programmable radio maybe...
Do they come in a mode 1? I got mine through flitetest with a tiny whoop and had to convert it to mode 2 myself. Bit of a job but works with a bit of effort. Wouldn’t mind the better model but done want to have to do the mods again.
Hi! The T8 doesn't look THAT interesting for me. But something complete different: I'm going to try the 2000mm Wings on a PhoenixS 1600. Wouldn't you try that, too? (heared in an old video)?
@@AndrewNewton Thanks for answering! I tried it today myself and i was a bit disapointed. Maybe the CG wasn't right. The flight was all in all a little unstable and i stalled at a higher speed in a curve... Hm. Need more testing :) Maybe Craig will do a video about the PhoenixS @2000mm. Greetings!
I like the sim-controller facility, but does anybody still use the buddy-box system for flight training? With so many new pilots eschewing clubs, going it alone, and moving straight into gyros, flight-control boards, auto-stabilisation and whatnot, even in its wireless form a buddy-box seems a bit... 1975. Personal question, Andrew (please feel free to ignore it): your injured fingers look like they've healed very nicely, but is there any residual tingling or numbness from cross-wired nerves? It's none of my business, of course, I'm just concerned/curious. (Oh, all right, I'm just nosy... 🤭)
I have a scar across the pad of my ring finger which still tingles, otherwise is all healed. But the horror movie that plays in my mind of doing it again hasn't gone away.
Andrew, great! Thanks!
Thanks Andrew!
Thank you!

Does radiomaster t8 pro support external ELRS, and what brand is compatible with T8 Pro?
Have to watch the video again. Pay attention after the 6min mark

I dont have the PhoenixS anymore but the 2000 wings work well according to Craig McDonald

Hi there nice to see that you've got currykiiten flight sim
Of course. I'm a Let's Drone Out regular guest (well maybe twice)

You look so cramped next to the car, good luck with the move!
52 days Jack. Time is dragging I have to admit.
