i think they are very different headphones, I obviously chose the diana mr over atrium because its resolution weight and build. The atrium is nice wood aesthetic but its also heavy and sound wise its more warm
i didn’t really notice much of a difference, i was mostly listening for tonal balance and the MR is much more to my taste. The TC is a brighter headphone so it could sound more “detailed” and from what i understand it has a thinner diaphragm, while MR is thicker so it has more dynamics
nice review there. i wonder if u heard the diana v2 and can share some thoughts regarding the difference. i got mine for 1400ish, i doubt the mr are 1600 better, i wonder if they are even a competitor for the v2 or just a different experience. btw i used the v2 for valorant, its fine but lack of soundstage (the v2 is very intimate) makes them less ideal for gaming. also they replaced my hd800s as the 800s didnt sound good for my music genre.
i have not tried diana v2 it’s discontinued so I was only able to try the Abyss 1266 and Diana TC. I find the soundstage to be decent and plays valorant well for me
Sweet. Love the talk about the dynamics. I have had a pair of ab-1266 phi tcs for years now and the dynamics are what keep bringing me back. Such an amazing sound abyss has. Love the review. Enjoy em man.
The Diana MR is what i expect the LCD-6 to sound like if that makes any sense, I prefer the Diana MR. I honestly thought my end game would be an audeze headphone but the Diana MR got there first
i wish but i dont think i have enough subscribers for meze yet xD. I heard the original empyrean and it was a much different type of headphone, a more bassy dark headphone. Diana MR is more of a studio headphone
Do you think its suitable for mastering?I write classical music i need to hear every single instrument of the orchestration.I m between in ears and over ears but the graph of this abyss really caught my attention..
i think so, it has such a good studio tuning but also with the detail of a planar that really is unmatched. The way it makes produces sounds can only be defined as effortless precision
@@anatol1204 yeah I was able to hear the Diana TC with Diana MR and Abyss 1266 at Canjam. The Diana TC sounds to bright for me, and the midrange is more recessed causing vocals to sound further away, I think the Diana MR is more natural sounding. Perhaps Diana TC is more resolving, but I care more about tonal balance first
Really insightful review! Just curious if you were able to test out the Meze Empyrean 2? Am really close to pulling the trigger on either of them so would love to hear your thoughts!
How many percent better is it then the he1000 stealth? Or is it same level just different. I always hear that diminishing returns kicks in at around $1000- $1500.
Coming from the Diana V2 and Phi; I cant imagine theyre anywhere as good as HE1000 SE or the HEKse. I tried to love the Diana by using the XI Audio Stack and full loom JPS Labs. These headphones are underwhelming. The reviews and impressions for TC and now MR have me believe they didn't improve much at all. Tiny soundstage, wonky mid range and puny bass. I read so many reviews about the amazing deep bass and how it's not too far off from the 1266 which was a load of bologna. I think the guys at Abyss overvalue their engineering and just push their highest resolution marketing to people don't know better.
I have a 2020 utopia and he1000 stealth. I prefer the utopia between the two and am considering selling the he1000 stealth and putting the money towards the mr. The mr would be closer to a planar utopia right? The he1000 sounds too open and diffuse. The utopia is known for its dynamics and seems like the mr is the most dynamic planar.@ryanhostudio
Diana MR is way better than utopia in my opinion and costing less. I can never get past how utopia has a pretty bad subbass roll off for a flagship headphone, I expect nothing but the best performance from a flagship priced product. But everything else about utopia is pretty stellar (especially looks one of the best). I personally like the utopia 2022 a little better because of its warmer tuning. But things like soundstage height and dynamics are better on the Diana MR and planars just have this super realistic treble resolution and extension that I have never heard replicated in a dynamic headphone.
I’m gonna demo them tomorrow, and the Arya organic and EF 600,Think the EF 600 and organic will be my bedroom setup and the Diana MRs will replace my kennerton GH 50 JMs as my portable cans, maybe.
Arya ORGANIC entered the chat and has one word : stage (matters). And I love Audeze LCD 3, too. I will get Diana , just because my gf 's name is Diana, but I dont think it is the best ever .
stage matters but the biggest issue with arya organic is it doesn’t sound organic the treble is painful for me i couldn’t even listen to it longer than 30 seconds. But yes i very much like lcd-3 too
How does compare to the Diana TC? Os that one still the flagship under the Diana line? Have you heard the Austrian Audio thr Composer? Everyone is talking about it. Many thanks for taking your time with the impressions and video.
i heard the Diana TC, its more expensive. My take away was the Diana MR was more dynamic and better tuned for my taste, more midrange focus and more neutral treble on the Diana MR, the Diana TC mids sounded further back and more treble emphasis. I liked the Composer it was a really fun sounding headphone that sounded like it had a bass lift, had good vocals but treble was a little bright for me
Really informative review, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the in-depth review!
you welcome!
it was nice meeting you at CJ. Glad you like Diana as much as I do. :)
It was nice meeting you too! It really is amazing
Did you compare this to the Atrium by zmf? I am turned between those 2, I had the diana v2 before and loved them
i think they are very different headphones, I obviously chose the diana mr over atrium because its resolution weight and build. The atrium is nice wood aesthetic but its also heavy and sound wise its more warm
@@ryanhostudio Thank for the input, I was wondering if you had even considered.
i think i personally think caldera is more special than atrium but atrium is a fun closed back
Did you notice a detail/resolution difference between the Diana TC and MR?

yeah the dynamics really stand out especially for a planar. Its more dynamic than my hifiman he6 se v2 too
At the same price, would you prefer MR or LCD-5, or sth else? Thanks.
The Diana MR is what i expect the LCD-6 to sound like if that makes any sense, I prefer the Diana MR. I honestly thought my end game would be an audeze headphone but the Diana MR got there first
Nice vids! Would the Anyss Diana MR be good for studio audio production work vs audeze hifiman etc ?
yes i think it’s the most accurate sounding one. The second place would be audeze mm-500 but it’s treble is too rolled off
Any experience with how this compares with Mr speakers ether originals?
i’ve tried ether c flow before a long time ago, i think abyss diana mr has dynamics unlike anything i’ve heard with dan clark stuff
Are you getting the Meze Empyran 2 to compare?
i wish but i dont think i have enough subscribers for meze yet xD. I heard the original empyrean and it was a much different type of headphone, a more bassy dark headphone. Diana MR is more of a studio headphone

i have not, it came out after canjam socal ;(

the he1000steath is a brighter headphone with bigger soundstaging due to its huge drivers. Diminishing returns definitely at play
