    In a world focused on plastic guns and instant gratification, it’s a joy to see old world craftsmanship. You make it look easy and fast. It’s not. I hope to get my shop running again shortly. I miss the peace and calm that this type of craftsmanship brings.

    Does this bring back memories for me. In the 1970's, I actively made quite a number of custom rifles using only the finest Greek walnut 4AAAA grade prurchased from Fajen, using the Ruger No. 1 action. These were a labour of love for me and I spent thousands of wonderful hours doing those things on the video you make look so easy (they are not). I also enjoyed the pleasure their new owners got from them
    Thank you for the finest and most memorable 15 min video I have seen in a long, long time. My hat is off to your sir...may you enjoy the well earned title.."master craftsman".. Sign each firearm with pride and God bless

    Sadly not many craftsman like you left Mr Roberts. You are one amazing gunsmith, and not an ensembler of parts. I really hope you can post more videos. Gives us endless pleasure watching a craftsman applying his art.

    In the age of polymer and fiberglass/carbon fiber, it makes me happy to see someone still has the skills to custom produce a gorgeous stock from wood like this. Beautiful Matt!

    This is extremely impressive. All of the work here is of the highest standard. The tolerances of the inletting are extremely tight and that fore end wrap around pattern is NOT easy to do. I can only wish to be this good one day. Congratulations that you have reached this skill level.

    They don't make firearms , they create works of art. Functionality and beauty not to mention dependability and history.
    Sadly a bit over my budget.

    OK so you are wet sanding the stock with finish to what grit paper ? At what point do you switch to hand rubbing the finish on ? What brand finish ? Terrific results .
    Thanks

    • @mnrcustomllc8253
      @mnrcustomllc8253  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Freddy, I wet sand with 320 grit until the pores are filled (around 6-8 applications), then once at 400 and once at 600. Then hand rub multiple coats (this one was around 20) occasionally going back and wet sanding with 600 grit. I used Timberlux on this project. Can't recommend it enough. Thank you!
