Robin! Gosh, I LOVED the red mountain near the beginning, it would look amazing as a linocut print. I wanted to say thank you- because of your kind words and beautiful paintings I have finally started using a set of paints I bought 5 years ago when I was posing for an artist. He said he would teach me to oil paint and never did. I have carried these paints around so long and been afraid to use them, but this week I bought some white spirit and linseed oil, sat down and started. The world didn't end, the sky didn't fall in, and I've got the beginnings of a halfway decent picture of a horse. It's the exciting beginning of a new artist adventure...
You should really try doing it, because it is way more difficult than you'd think. After about 10 to 15 paintings you'll find you are running out of creative ideas and the point isn't really to make 'random' art.
Rochelle Fernandes the artist who waits for the perfect conditions to put paintbrush to canvas will have lived an entire lifetime without ever having lifted the brush. You might surprise yourself with how well you feel AFTER you start. Good luck!!
Everything sadness and depression tell you not to do is exactly what you need. So, don't stay in, do listen to music ,do put on your favourite movie do jump around like an idiot etc.
Just go ahead! It's difficult but slap some paint on that canvas, it doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to be good, heck, it can just be a blob. Anyway, good luck with your art!
This is so inspirational. I’m not into making art or painting in any sort of way but one thing I am into is football but I’m struggling with practicing outside of team. This made me a bit mad at myself and the only way of curing that was calling over some people and play
Hello I just wanted to say thank you for basically being my painting teacher. I've been painting every day for the past week, just sorta jumped into it. And despite constantly being hard on myself over things not looking how I want them, I'm having a ton of fun. And your videos have been great help; I can't wait to watch more. Have a super excellent day!
I'd love to see multiple paintings of a single reference photo - using different colors, mediums, styles, focusing on different parts of the image, all the ways you can pull inspiration from or see beauty in an image. I've been trying to do it some myself, but I'm very much novice level. Love your work; you always mix the prettiest blues. I'm like. That's it. That's the prettiest blue ever and then you mix an even prettier one
Dear Robin! Congratulations for making this painting marathon and that you made it! 40 pieces in 10 hours; 15 minutes for one painting! Great job! You did an amazing job!
I WISH I could commit to a 10 hour non-stop run, but I don't think my 8 month old will allow it. Maybe I'll have to see "how many paintings can I do before nap time ends?" instead :P
I always find your voice overs so enlightening and inspiring. I’ve been feeling like I’m “running dry” for a while now, and trying to keep it going. Thank you for this video😊
This is so fascinating... I could watch this 800,000 times and still be absolutely blown away by your progression. I love how you can SEE your brain getting comfortable and the way you adapt as you go. Keep up the good work
Oh I love this! I like the more loose one you did and those with a lot of vibrant colors. And, I couldn't agree more, quantity over quality is crucial. Also about the 100 day project, I have done a few daily art projects, but the day 50 thing only happened in my last one, I was painting insects daily, and I got bored, so I started adding growing mushrooms and corals onto the insects, which is currently leading somewhere in big canvas in acrylic. Feels like a step, no clue where this is going, but it's too early for me to judge.
Me at the beginning of the video: "What's the point of rushing paintings without even the possibility to make it right bc there's not time, ecc" Me at the end: "Oh my god that's so cool I'm going to do it" Seriously, this is a very good exercise for your creativity. Thanks for sharing!!
28 and 30 are my favorites! Great work Robin, you really inspire me. I had never thought I could be an artist because so many people who were artists told me I wasn't one, or they told me that unless I do only art, I can't call myself an artist. But you help me remember that when I paint, even though I can't yet achieve the hyperrealism I am going for, I am making art. And that makes me an artist, whether or not my work is perfect. But I am determined damnit, I will paint a realist rose someday if it kills me! Anyway, I love your work and your channel. Keep it up!
the way you described how this challenge helped you is exactly what i’m hoping to do atm ! just got back into painting after a few months so i’m def gonna try this 💖🎨💖
My favourites were 3, 18, 27 and 31( abstract, night rainbow, blue and white that could be sea or sky and a tiny sea rainbow!), but I liked a lot of the others as well. I'm intrigued by that idea that quantity produces quality, I'm going to have to try that myself. Your videos are always so encouraging and inspiring, thanks Robin!
I love you for real thank you so much for putting effort motivating and inspiring people. You are totally helping artists who experience unfortunate phases of uninspired state, loss of passion, and just totally at lost. I myself have been there, i also experienced having anxieties on acrylics thinking i couldn't make a piece.. and then i watched one of your videos. Its just an art video for some people but for me it made me take steps into crushing my anxiety of acrylics.. i thought i would never want to use acrylics again but really... thank you so much Robin! I hope you read this and know that you are truly inspiring and motivating. ❤
I really need to do this. I feel like I been lazy of creating so I need something like this. Also I find you very inspiring, your paintings, the video. It's like a reminder to me, so thank you.
I read a little book that says all artist steal ideas from other artist. You explained this in very diplomatic terms. I think that Rembrandt was asked how long it took him to paint something. He said it took a very long time. Two hours can be a long time. It seems in my own experience no one likes hearing a painting was done quickly. Thanks for helping me get my mind working and enjoy thinking about my processes and trying something new. There should not be a time limit put on any painting some should be long works others should flow out quickly. I find that I have art in many stages and I alternate between them. Thanks Robin
Love you so much! You are so inspiring! I really love how CRAZY you are because it’s just so easy to relate to you! You are the reason I haven’t given up on my artist dream!
At the beginning of this video I was like "no way would I ever do that challenge" (because I, too, am a perfectionist ;c...) but by the end I kind of got excited at the prospect of being forced to make last minute decisions and going with the flow and learning new techniques and not feeling bad if one turns out the way I don't like because ideally it only took me 15 minutes to paint.....sooo maybe I will give it a go someday. Thanks for making this! Hope you do more art marathons in the future :D
This was amazing. And yes, quantity over quality sounds like a strange concept but now that i think about it, it makes so much sense. Improving art really is all about practice and learning and just creating as much as possible. This video was great. Now i really want to try something similair, just letting lose and not trying to make everything perfect and detailed. Thank you for making videos and sharing ideas and tips, I learn so much from you❤️
I wish you had a podcast, I could listen to you for hours. I love your input into art subjects and the creative process, and honestly, your brain is super cool. Also your art, and you haha 💕
I don’t know what was said in the podcast you were listening to, but your mention of quantity over quality reminded me of a great book that I read when I first graduated from college. It was a little gem I found in the library, a short read called ‘Art & Fear’ by David Bayles and Ted Orland. In one chapter they discuss a college ceramics class in which the class was split into two groups, and their entire course grade was determined by one criterion: for group A they would be graded on the quality of a single piece; group B would be graded simply on the quantity of pieces they made. As it turned out, the quantity group all made much better pieces than the group that was trying to perfect just one piece. Thanks for the reminder, and the inspiring channel. You’re doing great work.
art mom is back !! after watching this I might actually start painting again, your videos always inspire me to keep at it and make art no matter what !!
Thanks Robin! Thank you for doing a fast V.O for when you spoke about MEVO, so greatful that I didn't need to watch like f-ing two minutes just to hear you talk about a f-ing camera-thing. Eyy, also, don't forget that you're awesome too!
Grate work, awesome paintings, incredible you made them so fast..will have to try this out and brake away for a time from perfectionist and see what it can teach me,Thank you Sensay🙏🏻🤗💗
I love these videos where you’re doing as much as you can in a limited time, and even though they’re small and simple, doing these will help you do greater bigger things later! Quality over quantity, but quantity helps you make quality, I like that 😁
Wow!! that was fab. Its difficult to sit down straight for 10 hours.. YOU DID IT!! number of paintings come later.. I'll probably go lil slow and try 5 hours first.
Holy heck this is so inspiring!! Also - you should do a collab with Peter Draws, Your art styles are so different but I think if you made an artwork together it would look incredible, much love xoxo
This was so inspiring I wanna try this out I loved this so so much omg I will be doing this you just gave me a whole new perspective of art and I love it
This is definitely one of my favourite videos!! It's just super inspiring, especially the whole aspect of quantity produces quality and by letting go of perfectionism to learn and develop ourselves as artists! I really gotta try something like this soon! Thanks so much for this video, you're doing amazing!
awesome..... I don't think I can have a continuous spell of 10 hours in my schedule..... but I'm inspired....so may be I will see how many I can do in 2-3 hrs!! as usual you are an inspiration!!
Your art-a-thon videos are so inspirational, I just wish I had half a brain so I could learn as much as you. I'm so stubborn, but maybe one day!

Painting 40 paintings in 10 hours is easy.... as long as a paint stroke counts as abstract art
You should really try doing it, because it is way more difficult than you'd think. After about 10 to 15 paintings you'll find you are running out of creative ideas and the point isn't really to make 'random' art.
@@PHeMoX
I just want to appreciate how polite you were in your reply. :)
@@PHeMoX But it was a joke tho
I have kept a canvas board taped to paint something. I have time but my state isn't very happy and I can't get myself to paint at all
Rochelle Fernandes the artist who waits for the perfect conditions to put paintbrush to canvas will have lived an entire lifetime without ever having lifted the brush. You might surprise yourself with how well you feel AFTER you start. Good luck!!
Christina Isaicu thank you so much

I LOVE this experimental process! Reminds me of what Van Gogh did in his art. You inspire me to create more and be creative. Thank you!
Oh I love this! I like the more loose one you did and those with a lot of vibrant colors.

WOW the progress! And yu are right, #23 is so, so good. It's amazing to see you progress this much in just one video. Thanks for the inspiration!
Me at the beginning of the video: "What's the point of rushing paintings without even the possibility to make it right bc there's not time, ecc"
Me at the end: "Oh my god that's so cool I'm going to do it"

Love this, and here I am sometimes taking 15 hours on one painting.
The watercolor paper/paint pad is super cool! Love your work by the way!
I really need to do this. I feel like I been lazy of creating so I need something like this.
