Dats why mi Love yu Oliver, yu full a authentic Jamaican culture and also full of wisdom. Jamaican a run dung everyting Farrin and some even a water dung Jamaican culture and food fi match Farrin. It pain mi fi si de unhealthy way Jamaicans eat now a days. Many farrin food companies dump dem junk pan 3rd world countries like Jamaica when they start losing steam.
I wish Jamaica would make their own because Jamaicans are so good at cooking and baking. My American children and fiancé LOVED Devon House ice cream. They said it was the best thing they had on the island. They love Ting, Kola Champagne, patty, etc. I was so saddened by the fact that I couldn’t locate Jamaican fruits in any Jamaican supermarkets. Everything was American! I had planned on having my fiancé try all the Jamaican fruits but was unsuccessful at finding them before we had to leave.
This mindset of, I would say, most Jamaicans that anything foreign is better is a hindrance to the development of the local industries and commercial enterprises of this country. I can't understand why there are so many foreign fast-food places, real estate companies etc. in Jamaica.
Crispy donuts are white people donuts ....it has too much sugar; our Prestige donuts are royalty. There is nothing special about crispy creme. Yoy are so correct Oliver. "We alway go crazy over foreign things "
Oliver yuh labrish sweet cyan done. I've been a fan since 'Schools Out' 1975. I tell people all the while, your plays are outrageously funny, but the fun jumps several notches at intermission, when you go in front of the curtain and interact with the audience., nothing sweeter. So, in 2000 I took my heavily pregnant wife to see you in 'Breadfruit Kingdom'. The poor dear spent the evening sitting on the floor trying to suppress her laughter, so as not to deliver prematurely. Her discomfort pales in comparison to a lady sitting in the front row, who you 'engaged with' at the intermission. I haven't laughed so much in my entire life. This brings me to a question. Is there a way I (and at this stage I hesitate, because I posted these comments yesterday, the fact that it's missing, I assume comes about because of a transactional word I used while making a request). It is about the said 'Breadfruit Kingdom.' Is it possible to acquire a recording of this play? Remembering that nutten nuh free. I want to make it up to my sweet wife who bore me a wonderful daughter. I invite any advice. Your longer plays quite appropriately, don't appear on UA-cam. While at it, I beg you to consider doing a regular vlog saying anything you like. In the meantime, may God bless you abundantly son of St. Mary.
They opened a Krispy Kreme donut on my block where I use to live a couple decades ago in Baltimore. I took donuts to work every Friday as it was buy 1 doz get 1 doz free. Those donuts disappeared in less than half an hour. They are really good, especially when hot. As a child growing up in Jamaica, I ate donuts almost everyday at recess in Central Branch if I could get to the stall before they ran out. Made in Jamaica and was just as good as what we have in America. I remember as an adult they had an outlet on Orange Street next to Nubel Cleaners. Not sure if they still make the donuts that come in the red and white box, but I sure hope they do.
We are a hindrance to the development of our country. Krispy cream donuts are loaded with sugar. We black people are prone to diabetes due to the high sugar content in our food and drinks, this is another nail in our coffin.
Oliver my dear, beg you stop call up, callu up Daraty name! Beg you! You dun know!😂 But seriously Olly, Prestige Donuts beh bout fe donkey years! You see vendors selling them on the street, so i dont understand this donut pandemonium! Peiple lining up overnight to buy donuts? They are nuts!!! The next issue is a mattet of public safety. Because the entrance to that property is so cloze to the corner, and the car park rather small , cars were parking along the inside lane, and on the sidewalk heading to the Salvation Army entrance! Thats what i saw last wednesday night at 9.12pm. Crazy! Urging the police traffic dept to start taking cintril BEFORE a major accident
Jamaica is too Americanized. These American businesses realized that they can make money off of poor Jamaicans because they are ready to sell out their culture fi foreign foolishness. Support the local industry!
The amount of sludge that they used to make those Donuts 🍩 are nothing but heart ❤ attack on a plate 🍽. Jamaica 🇯🇲, is going to have a lot of health problems and they don't have good health care system.
Same way it goes sir Samuels let us support our own buy Jamaica and eat what we produce.
*Awesome message... & Oliver is awesome as usual...!!!* 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽

The living legend speaks the truth. I live in foreign where Krispy Kreme originates and it is not that popular here.

@@dorothyallison5647Cause many Jamaicans colonised/classist to see our creations, our nation as less than those across the shore.
