Here we are nearly 40 years on and it still brings tears to the eyes. For me, one of the greatest, most iconic visual moments of the 20th Century, or any century. I was privileged to be one of the 26 million, in the U.K. who, along with my family sat down and watched the whole thing.

There are more losers than winners but these two were the most gracious of winners. Having a family member who didn't medal but still having the Olympic experience will last a lifetime in the memories of the journey to get there and the struggles of everyone, even the winners. Thank you for this. It was wonderful.

Today i have a MAC . am 78yrs. English live in South of France and am seeing for the .First time this Deeply Emotional video of Torvill and Dean .Absolutely fabulous . They are interesting to listen to so many years after; sharing all "behind scene" thoughts, feelings, Emotions. One would have thought ,as most people did . They were in love. ! Nice to see Ann involved. Thank you for this insight of such a special event.
They had a sort of love, the kind where you work/play together for so long and so intimately that you can achieve perfect synchrony of mood and movement. It's more rare than sexual love. Virtue and Moir also have it.
I cannot count the number of times I have seen this performance and every time I am astounded at the sheer beauty of their performance. Thank you for uploading this video. No doubt I shall watch it again with the same enjoyment. :)
Well I am a 79 yr old guy that has been watching these two since the early 80s, Every time I watch them skate to Bolero I tear up. What is wrong with those 138 people. They have been together longer than most married people.
I am not at all British or close, but I loved them and wanted them to win. They did it, with a legendary routine. Thank you Jane and Chris! Thank you for the upload!
I remember seeing their winning 6 across the board routine and they deservedly earned it! They are still The king and queen of ice dancing! They changed the style and elegance of the sport forever😘
They were always building up to this moment. It is special for me because it was the first time I saw emotion in my Dad. We watched it together and at the end I looked over to him and he had a tear in his eyes.
How wonderfully poignant. I was 10 and was sitting watching it with my then 80 year old Great Grandma at her house, which I always associate with a place of safety back then. We were equally excited, 4 generations apart and together for such a fantastic occasion. I watch this performance and feel again all those lovely personal associations and would go back in a heart beat.
This is a brilliant documentary it sends shivers up and down my spine so awesome. Something so magical so perfect ....no one will ever compare !!!!!!!!xxxxxxx

Our Olympic couple that made history, I remember watching it live as ice skating was one of things that I used to be interested to watch. I still remember watching their Olympic dance live and with the music it was breathtaking.
I understand what Chris meant about skating, the feeling of freedom as you're going round the ice. I started going at 14, shortly after a rink was built here in Sheffield and loved it. These two will never be surpassed where ice dancing is concerned. They seemed to skate like one person split in two, so much in time together.
They are such lovely genuine people..the greatest talents maybe ever in all of figure skating not just ice dance & yet they sound like they can't believe people wanted to toast them after they won Gold..& Jayne saying a cup of tea & go to bed..lol gotta love them!

I watched them in Australia when I was a teenager and fell in love with them..Still remember it clearly to this day.
We are fortunate to have lived these days with them. They made my whole body goosepimple when they danced.
One of the greatest skates I've ever seen. Thanks to Torvill and Dean for sharing this glimpse back into how things were. Brilliant, just Brilliant.
Absolutely the best I had the pleasure to see them perform in Brisbane ❤❤
The most best ice skating dance couples in their era, they are very talented ! The cheography was so beautiful and they executed it perfectly !
Breathtaking then unmatched to this day....Congratulations to Torvill and Dean!
They were, they are the absolute best Ice Dancers. No one else can even come close to them. And I believe they will always be the best.
Utter and complete perfection.
I cannot count the number of times I have seen this performance and every time I am astounded at the sheer beauty of their performance. Thank you for uploading this video. No doubt I shall watch it again with the same enjoyment. :)
such talent and skill. still beautiful after thirty years.
Well I am a 79 yr old guy that has been watching these two since the early 80s, Every time I watch them skate to Bolero I tear up. What is wrong with those 138 people. They have been together longer than most married people.
What 138 people?
I am not at all British or close, but I loved them and wanted them to win. They did it, with a legendary routine. Thank you Jane and Chris! Thank you for the upload!

Talk, talk… i always yawn when i'm interested!
Just beautiful. I remember watching this as a young teenager and thinking wow!! Still does the same to me today. Goose bumps and still wonderful...
My favorites! Ever since “The Hat Trick” skate, I have been a life-long fan! That was amazing! Greatest of all time!
I remember seeing their winning 6 across the board routine and they deservedly earned it! They are still The king and queen of ice dancing! They changed the style and elegance of the sport forever😘
Even the best with the sound turned off.
I still consider them the BEST of all time!!❤
And they're so beautifully " down to earth" .Their humble nature makes them all the more deserving of all their wins.
They were always building up to this moment. It is special for me because it was the first time I saw emotion in my Dad. We watched it together and at the end I looked over to him and he had a tear in his eyes.
I just love your story! Amazing!
Such a touching story. Thanks for sharing this with us.
@@fairlyvague82 how beautiful! Thank you!
This is a brilliant documentary it sends shivers up and down my spine so awesome. Something so magical so perfect ....no one will ever compare !!!!!!!!xxxxxxx
They make me feel so proud of living in Nottingham ,well done T.and D.❤❤
Beautiful video. Phenominal skating. I remember it well. Couldn't take my eyes off them then, and still can't today when they skate this dance.
I’ll never forget this magical pair 💞
I love that Irises are the reference for the color of the costumes-right down to the fringed edge of Jane’s dress. They are my favorite spring flowers.💜👑⛸️
I remember watching it live. I get goosebumps still…
A magical moment in time .Amazing .😢😢💕💕💕💕🙏🙏
Sheer brilliance! Amazing, well deserved and record breaking.
