  • Super rare parts on a 2 door 1964 Chevy Wagon. After spending years trying to find some useable inner rear window trim I found some that were so rusty that could barely be used to make a decent pattern to make a new trim piece.

The Chevrolet Chevelle is a mid-sized automobile that was produced by Chevrolet in three generations for the 1964 through 1978 model years. Part of the General Motors (GM) A-body platform, the Chevelle was one of Chevrolet's most successful nameplates. Body styles included coupes, sedans, convertibles, and station wagons. The "Super Sport" versions were produced through the 1973 model year, and Lagunas from 1973 through 1976.
After a four-year absence, the El Camino was reintroduced as part of the new Chevelle lineup in 1964.
The A-body Monte Carlo, introduced in 1970, also used a platform that was based heavily on the Chevelle platform, although it was lengthened ahead of the firewall.
The Malibu was the top-of-the-line model through 1972 and completely replaced the Chevelle nameplate starting with the redesigned and downsized 1978 model yearked up the seats and had to put them in for absolutely no reason at all… Very pleased with these seats for my 1964 Chevelle Wagon!

      @@luckysgarageshow,
I got a real 138 Super Sport hood for my 66 Malibu ,
Yes I painted it black ,
And my 136 Malibu is Red Oxide so it's starting to look a lot like yours ,
It has a 1971 small block LT1 350 with Holley 750cfm carb and headers , 4 speed trans with 11 inch clutch and
50s on the rear with steel rally rims .
And I'm looking for a Front air dam either like yours or one similar .

The bottom door sill plates that cover the rear light cable runs on a Tri-Five Chevy. Danchuk MFG to the rescue. Thought I was doomed. Thank God they had them. EVERY scrap yard or swap meet had them, but they were all melted by way of rust.

I almost need seasickness pills to handle some of these camera swings.
A funny thought occurred to me as I watched , that during all the hours I wasted watching Orange County choppers work on fabrication , I never saw any Dykem , one of the most basic metal working aids, but did see a lot of hammer pounding used to fit custom parts. . then I smiled, picturing lucky throwing hammers and slamming doors trying to build something on 'TV. I am glad such shows have matured.

In my shop I don't have space for a real nut, bolt, or screw bin. So on my bench top I use the clear plastic lunch meat tubs that have a snap on lid. Then on the narrow end of the tub I write on there with a black sharpie what is in the tub. 6=8.

Do we need to setup a Go Fund me or something for Lucky to go buy some C clamps so he can clamp things onto his bench when using it for a dolly? Maybe one of those magnetic third hands like Finnegan has? I obviously spent way too much time in the prototype lab when I was at Hughes Aircraft. That piece turned out pretty nice.

OMG Lucky, I just noticed all that great vintage car lineup in your shop. Are those all yours or are some of them customer cars? That wagon is sweet. All those cars bring back memories of my growing up in the "old days". Haha. I have several cars I need to finish and sell so I can get an older Chevy. I really like the stuff you're involved in. I couldn't get there until I retired. Keep up your channel and HRG. I dig it all. What's the OEM trim metal, 20 or 22 gauge?
