You deserve an award for making this move. Deciding on what is going and what is not is a heart wrenching experience. Best of luck. I will be here when you are able to start again.
What a monumental task to move both your home and your work space at the same time. Most people are stressed just doing one. I hope all of the unpacking goes well too. Best of luck with everything!!
OMG, what an adventure. My heart stopped when you showed the empty shed and said....well, that makes it real. Whew. Been there, done that. I know you are already at your destination but hats off to you for taking up such a task and thank God for friends and family helping. It says a lot about you that they were so willing to jump in and help take care of your needs. You are blessed indeed! See you on the flip side!!
Seeing what you took with you, I estimate it'll take at least two lives to process alll this wood into your very special treasures. Best wishes to you and your wife in your new home ❤🇦🇹
This was a surprisingly emotional video; the effort of moving is visceral, the representation of years, even decades, of collecting, protecting, and dreaming over pieces of wood, and all of the memories they contain. I'm a little older than you, Jim, so I understand some of these dynamics. Glad you made it to NB, and as a member, I'm cheering you and your family on this new chapter of your life!
Good morning 🌅, Jim and family and friends, you must of been Bowled over by all those Bowls 😂, it is a hard job to let go of things that you are not sure you will ever need again, back in 2019 , when my relationship fell apart, I decided to take the plunge and move to France, on my second or third trip, my van blew its oil out of the engine, I was loaded to the Helts , I was only just in to France, luckily I’ve got breakdown cover, I was supplied with a truck with a towel gate loading bed, that was great as it was going to make it a lot easier for me to load and unload all my gear, something I hadn’t been told and hadn’t realised, that there was a huge weight restriction on the vehicle, I could only carry 660 kg, 😮, because of the tailgate, lift, 2/3 away down into France, went through a toll, and guess what I got pulled over by the police, put me on the scales, I was 1000+ kilos overweight, 😮😮😮, I was not allowed to move, I had to pay for a recovery vehicle, I’ve taken to a depot where I had to pay a fine of nearly €400, plus the haulage of the motorway €300, then I’ve been charged €25 a night for storage of my contents of my vehicle, So when I unloaded the van virtually, then carried on down to my property, unloaded and then drove straight back up to where my contents were stored, I took a gamble. I put the rest of it back in the van and luckily I’ve managed to get back just for one trip., theory taken three trips, This one crossing cost me just over €2000, So every trip I done after that which was cost me nearly €1000 for fuel overnight stay et cetera, it’s time I picked up a load I went and got weighed to make sure I was underweight, And when I was moving out of my workshop, I had a very large skip, you wouldn’t believe the melt of timber and stuff I had to throw away, 2019 I started moving my contents across , it wasn’t till April May of this year until I got the final load across, plus, I had to purchase another van, I wish you and your family all that success for the future in your new home when it is finally built, Look forward to next weeks project, Stay safe keep up the great work , From France,
That’s the biggest Treasure Box I’ve ever seen!!! So many memories and stories had to flash you back in time to the special day you received special pieces. Your shots of looking over the wall to the bowls reminded me of a squirrel 🐿️ checking its hoard of hard earned acorns 🌰… truly a beautiful feast for the eyes. You and your wife have worked so hard to achieve this dream… May it be even BETTER than either one of you could have imagined ❤ Your friend Derricks pens just proved there are NO unusable scrap … it just needs the right person to imagine its new potential. Beautiful memorable moving gifts … moving after many years is as emotionally exhausting as it is physically. All of us old squirrels 🐿️ can FEEL the sentiment and love for both what was and what will be ❤ Thank you for sharing!
Jim I totally enjoyed this video. No need to apologize. I think this content is necessary for anyone interested in this path to understand the extent. So thank you again for your honesty and for sharing
WOW, I knew this move was going to be a huge job for you and your wife, both physically and emotionally, but it's bigger than even I imagined! I don't envy you. And you know what else? I'm gonna miss seeing "Petawawa" in your opening from now on. Such a unique name! 😉 Thanks to Derrick you are going to have so some choice collectable pens! Love the rice pen in particular! Well, have a very safe trip on the last leg of your move! Be safe and be happy! I'm praying for you!
Hi Jim. I apologise for neglecting you for a few weeks but I’m pleased I’ve caught up with you again and thank you today’s content. You look pretty nimble to me leaping over the freezer so often and your stock makes mine look so feeble. Take care, go safe and all the best with the rest of your move 🌞
Well done. All the postings and deployment logistics came into play. No one sorts a ton of Lego parts playing Tetris like an old mil guy with a few dozen moves under his belt. Kudos to Mrs Sprague for enduring another upheaval. There's no one anywhere who is stronger than a military spouse. May this be that last move ever and finally a home that stays put.
Jim: man you guys worked fast to fill the sea can. And on a hot day too. By now you are semi settled in and the shop layout on the ground should be in the works. Enjoy the pens. I enjoyed making them for you. Took my pickax to get the material out of the container. Thank you for all the blanks. They will be put to good use and will never be put in the fireplace. Take care and please stay safe.
Thanks Derrick, your an awesome fella! When we are in Pet next time we will try to stop in for a quick visit. Thank you for all your gifts and packing materials over the last few years! Jim
Oh my gosh, the rice pen! 😂 That is AWESOME! I am so glad that all of your treasures made it to New Brunswick safely. I am sure that it will be just as much "fun" to move it all again when you get your permanent shop built. May you all get safely settled into your temporary space. I have lived in several of those in my life. I have been grateful for those "ports in a storm."
Moving has to be one of the most stressful undertakings there is. So much work on both ends, but is always worth the effort once it's all over. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad the move went well, and I'm glad you showed part of the move. It was interesting to me to see all the wood you had as its impossible to see it in the old work shop. So thank you for sharing this with us and I can't wait for your new shop to be set up and all the new projects that will be done. 😊❤
Oh so much wood. I can’t imagine a person turning all those bowls, the first time, let alone turning them a second time. i’m so glad you shared this video with us. Congratulations on the successful move. I hope all went well on the trip. I also hope that you will have as much help unloading and unpacking as you did loading and packing. designer epoxy
So glad to hear everything made it! Mammoth move and so excited to see the building of the new workshop. Gorgeous gifts from the neighbor out of what would have been trash. Designer epoxy.
Hi Jim I would like to thank all of your family & friends that help with your move. How funny is Terri for putting he’s name on the bottom of the bowl I would have done the same thing. Your neighbour done an amazing job with the pens too. ♥️🇦🇺🫶🏻
OK, I have twice the number of the exact same totes as yours, but twice the size from my own move last year, and now I know what I need to do with them in the future. Thank you so much! Man, do I ever appreciate that idea!😊
Glad I'm not the one having to move your shop and materials you have in storage. Man, what a job!! It will take you a very long time to sort everything out and return to a somewhat normal existence. I wish you lots of patience during your move and lots of luck!!
Oh my goodness, the amount of bowl blanks you have is surprising. What a great selection of bowls to choose from. You've put in a TON of work getting everything ready.
Whoa, this is like a cheat code for seeing future projects! So many bowls and other crazy stock I want to see worked. Keep it up Jim, you're the highlight of my Friday mornings! Congrats on the move.
Glad you check the load out off your todo list Jim. I can’t imagine tackling your drying shed, let alone workshop. And let’s not forget the regular household! You need to take a vacation when this is all done. Looking forward to seeing what comes out of your new setup.
It may not be your normal content, Jim, but I’m glad you shared your moving process. I’m sure a lot of other people feel the same way. All of those pieces are your babies…. All the hours, blood, sweat and tears over the years. To not be able to see them through to the end and to start all over from scratch…. You probably won’t have just because of the amount of time and money to start for ground zero again. Great news to hear everything made it safely in the move. Blessings 😊
Thanks for providing the packing video. I must watch each week for entertainment even if there is no turning content. Impressive how you managed the sea container loading with respect to balance. That is a lot of material!! Designer Epoxy
Wow Jim! After seeing what went into that shipping container we are going to have to start calling you " The Bowl Whisperer". Thanks for sharing the move process. Look forward to having you back in business in New Brunswick.
Jim, I could have used one of those containers on my last move, and that was only about 5 blocks from where I was moving to! When the moving truck arrived at the new place, they had busted two bookshelves, one chair, and somewhere in 5 or so blocks, had managed to get water damage through several cardboard boxes of my books! I was not a happy camper! I'm so glad that everything went smoothly for you. Thanks for the video. Designer Epoxy
Glad you made it there safely!! That was a lot of work that went into packing the Sea container Jim ❤, glad you had help!! I think the content was perfect, loved seeing all the different wood and I hope he gets the bowl that he signed ❤!! Designer Epoxy ❤
Wow! So much work. I know moving a simple household is incredibly difficult - you never know how much stuff (and junk) you have until you move, but moving with your workplace across the country makes it twice or thrice as complex. Thanks for this weeks video and glad you made it safely!
Designer Epoxy. CONEXs are always such a joy to deal with, especially when prepping for a move and a deployment. Just think how much fun unpacking and positioning is gonna be.
Don't apologize for the content of this video I enjoyed it! I am truly amazed how much dried and ready to finish bowls you have. I can hardly wait to see your new workshop 😮! I was really impressed with your storage shed to bad you can't you can't take it too 😢.
Sorry I missed most of the live chat/video, I will have to watch it again. That's quite the packing and just under the limit, good job sir!! Hope all is going well for you and your wife in NB. I'm a former Bluenoser myself, father was an Air Force pilot.
So. Many. Bowls! Good work Jim, lovely to have good mates that help you move too! I look forward to seeing the first piece made at your new workshop! Be safe, have fun 💪
Thanks for sharing, Jim. WHAT A TON OF WORK. You deserve a vacation. I'm so glad everything made it safely to NB. Enjoyed this video a lot. Until next week...
Good to hear you made it to NB. At least the unpacking doesn't have to be done in just a couple of days. Amazing how much can be moved by a few men in a short period of time.
Thanks for sharing your move. Stressful time. Glad wife and you made a successful move. Now the getting settled in till the building gets started and finished. Good luck
Awesome video, Jim! Getting ready for a move after so many years at one location is hard. Making decisions about which treasures to keep had to be so gut-wrenching. I do admire your storage ingenuity. Repurposing the freezer was inspired. I look forward to the next video, whatever it will be.
Man, I hate moving. I can't imagine having to move not only household, but also a workshop and supplies. I have you get the time to recover sufficiently.
That was quite the job to pack up. I'm glad it went well and that you, your family, and all made it safely to Newbruswick. Hope setup of everything goes well. Thanks Jim!
Congratulations on the move. I can’t begin to imagine the effort involved in loading all of the wood. We are looking forward to seeing what you make in the temporary shop!
I cannot believe you actually still process new wood! Seems to me you have enough already for four lifetimes! Good luck on the move Jim and thanks for the content 👍🏻💪🏻😉
Thank you for taking us along for this journey, I don't envy all the work into moving but I hope everything made it safely and in one piece! Designer Epoxy
It's a hell of a lot of work packing all that wood up. I use a retired shipping container as a painting studio and sprayfoaming the roof was a big help in keeping it watertight.
Well done, to you and your friends! I've found it rather daunting, when moving smaller amounts. So this could have been a nightmare, except you had a plan. Wonderful things, plans! Well done, again!
So glad no backs were harmed in the filming of this program. 😂 You have content for years in there!! God bless you, your wife and your new home. May it always be filled with good health and happiness!❤️ A man who plants a tree, sees the future. Don't remember where I read that. Designer Epoxy
You deserve an award for making this move. Deciding on what is going and what is not is a heart wrenching experience. Best of luck. I will be here when you are able to start again.
See you next week, thanks!
What a monumental task to move both your home and your work space at the same time. Most people are stressed just doing one. I hope all of the unpacking goes well too. Best of luck with everything!!
Thank you so much!
The thought of putting all that away again when you get the New Brunswick end gives me the heeby-jeebies.
Yes, I get to set up a temporary shop, then move again to my new permanent shop! Lots of fun! 😂
OMG, what an adventure. My heart stopped when you showed the empty shed and said....well, that makes it real. Whew. Been there, done that. The real tear video will be this week. Thanks
You don't always understand how much you have until you have to move it! Great job getting it all done.
So true! We purged a lot from the house but still have too much stuff!
Seeing what you took with you, I estimate it'll take at least two lives to process alll this wood into your very special treasures.
Best wishes to you and your wife in your new home ❤🇦🇹

Wow, that was quite an ordeal! All of these problems ran through my head on the trip to, lol. Thank you so much!

Anxiously awaiting completed works from all that wood.

I like that you shared what it took to load up the container. It is all a part of what it takes for you and Designer Epoxy to create wonderful pieces.
Absolutely! Thanks

Thanks so much! Ha ha “fun” is not the word I would use for moving! But it will be nice to be in my new bigger shop!
@@SpragueWoodturning Yeah, I was using "sarcasm quotes" on that. Lol! Moving stinks.
This may sound weird, but I love packing stuff into small spaces. The more I can get into a spot, the better!
I enjoy those challenges as well.😂
So your that one person in a thousand, hahaha. Thanks.
Happy your move went smoothly and looking forward to seeing your creative projects using wood and DESIGNER EPOXY!
Thank you!
Holy cats! Can’t even imagine Jim. What a way to test a person’s sanity and fortitude! Glad you made it intact! Designer Epoxy
My thoughts exactly, lol. Thanks
Designer Epoxy
I love this kind of content. It shows a very personal side of your life. It's like your processing videos, they are always fascinating.
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks
I couldn't imagine having to pack & move that much stuff but you made it look easy lol. Those were some beautiful pens. Designer epoxy

I think it’s a great idea to convert the container. It will give you loads more room to collect more stuff for years to come.
I like the way you think, lol. Thanks
Thanks for including us on this move.
You bet! Thanks
Hi Jim, glad you arrived to your new home. Beautiful pen's. Take care.
Thank you kindly!
I find all of your videos that might be called "behind the scenes " very interesting. Super glad you got that all home in good shape.

Awesome! Thanks so much!
I would never have thought youd manage to take as much from the drying shed! You certainly packed the container to the rafters.❤
Thanks so much! I took as much as I could!

All the hours, blood, sweat and tears over the years. To not be able to see them through to the end and to start all over from scratch…. Great news to hear everything made it safely in the move. Blessings 😊
Thank you so much!
Thanks for providing the packing video. I must watch each week for entertainment even if there is no turning content. Impressive how you managed the sea container loading with respect to balance. That is a lot of material!! Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much!
Hi Jim, you know the trashes for someone can be the treasures for somebody else. Very cool those pens. See you next time!
You got that right! Thanks
Ahhh, the joy of moving is real!!! Congrats on the successful relocation.
Thank you very much!
Wow Jim! After seeing what went into that shipping container we are going to have to start calling you " The Bowl Whisperer". Thanks for sharing the move process. Look forward to having you back in business in New Brunswick.
Ha ha! Thanks so much!
Designer Epoxy - so much work - I hope all including you and your wife arrive safe- nice pens!
Thank you so much!
We’ve moved a number of times and understand the work that goes into it. Designer Epoxy
Thank you very much!

I'm not a wood turner but that would shed would make me envious if I was! So cool! ❤

Thank you! Cheers!
Designer Epoxy. CONEXs are always such a joy to deal with, especially when prepping for a move and a deployment. Just think how much fun unpacking and positioning is gonna be.
Unpacking will be a nightmare! Thanks
Moving is always way more effort than you would think. Even worse for pack rats like me. The shipping container was a great idea. Designer epoxy
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy. Holy cow what a lot of work!!!
Yes it was! Thanks
Don't apologize for the content of this video I enjoyed it! I am truly amazed how much dried and ready to finish bowls you have. I can hardly wait to see your new workshop 😮! I was really impressed with your storage shed to bad you can't you can't take it too 😢.
I wish I could take it too, lol. Thanks
Picking up that sea container was smooth as butter😊
He’s definitely done it a time or two, lol. Thanks
OOOF!.......Happy you're on to the next chapter. Designer Epoxy
You and me both!
You did the right thing to get a truck and take it yourself. Even. Then it's pricey. Praying everything and everyone gets there safely.
We made it safe and sound, thanks.
Sorry I missed most of the live chat/video, I will have to watch it again. That's quite the packing and just under the limit, good job sir!!
Hope all is going well for you and your wife in NB. I'm a former Bluenoser myself, father was an Air Force pilot.
Awesome! Thank you very much!
Thanks for the video Jim. We appreciate all the work and planning that goes into making these videos, not to mention the move itself. Designer Epoxy.
I appreciate that! Thanks
Oh My. Goodness 😮😮😮. What a big job 😂. …. Well done. Well thought out and executed… A container was definitely the way to go 🤩

Wow Jim,
You have enough bowls to last for many years - I’m rubbing my hands together in anticipation of future projects!
Thank you so much!
Derek's pens are beautiful.
Yes, they are!
Thanks for sharing, Jim. WHAT A TON OF WORK. You deserve a vacation. I'm so glad everything made it safely to NB. Enjoyed this video a lot. Until next week...
My pleasure! Thanks so much!
You are definitely the King of packing😂❤
Thanks 😅
Good to hear you made it to NB. At least the unpacking doesn't have to be done in just a couple of days. Amazing how much can be moved by a few men in a short period of time.
So true! Thanks so much!
Looking forward to the next chapter.
Us too, thanks c
Thanks for sharing your move. Stressful time. Glad wife and you made a successful move. Now the getting settled in till the building gets started and finished. Good luck

Much appreciated!
I'm glad the move went well. Can't wait to see your temperary shop. And don't stress yourself out. Designer Epoxy
Thanks 👍
Awesome video, Jim! Getting ready for a move after so many years at one location is hard. Making decisions about which treasures to keep had to be so gut-wrenching. I do admire your storage ingenuity. Repurposing the freezer was inspired. I look forward to the next video, whatever it will be.
Thank you very much!
Excellent video! It was great to see your progress/process!
What gorgeous pens! Great memory for the bad hair day!
A razor takes care of the bad hair days, hahaha. Thanks
Man, I hate moving. I can't imagine having to move not only household, but also a workshop and supplies. I have you get the time to recover sufficiently.
So much work! But we did it! Thanks!
That was quite the job to pack up. I'm glad it went well and that you, your family, and all made it safely to Newbruswick. Hope setup of everything goes well. Thanks Jim!
Thank you very much!
I loved watching this. I’m a dressmaker and I have boxes and boxes of fabric so I don’t feel too bad about my stash now.
Glad your move went well
Thank you very much!
Congratulations on the move. I can’t begin to imagine the effort involved in loading all of the wood. We are looking forward to seeing what you make in the temporary shop!
Thanks 👍
I cannot believe you actually still process new wood! Seems to me you have enough already for four lifetimes! Good luck on the move Jim and thanks for the content 👍🏻💪🏻😉
Thanks! Can never have enough wood! Ha ha!
Good to know everything got there safe and well with your good selves! A move and a half there 👍🏻
Thanks so much!
I can't wait to see what all these pieces will become!
Me too, thanks!
Whew! What a huge job! So glad you made it safely.
Thank you very much!
Gonna show us the good stuff😁. Good morning. Glad you made it safely.
Thank you very much!
Thank you for taking us along for this journey, I don't envy all the work into moving but I hope everything made it safely and in one piece! Designer Epoxy
It did, thanks!
It did, thanks!
Now that is a LOT of bowls!!😮
Can you really have too many? lol. Thanks
So much work, but moving home! And soon into your new home! Be safe, take care
Thanks again Jim
Yes, thanks! It will be worth it in the end! I hope!
It's a hell of a lot of work packing all that wood up. I use a retired shipping container as a painting studio and sprayfoaming the roof was a big help in keeping it watertight.
Good to know! Thanks so much!
Well done, to you and your friends! I've found it rather daunting, when moving smaller amounts. So this could have been a nightmare, except you had a plan. Wonderful things, plans! Well done, again!
Thanks so much!
So glad no backs were harmed in the filming of this program. 😂
You have content for years in there!! God bless you, your wife and your new home. May it always be filled with good health and happiness!❤️
A man who plants a tree, sees the future. Don't remember where I read that.

Must feel great seeing the truck head off east
Mixed emotions to be honest. Thank you so much!
That’s a lot of bowls! You have lots to do. The move is monumental!
Thank you so much!
happy you made it to the new home safe and sound.
Thank you very much!
So far, so good. A lot of work ahead of you, but you'll get through it! We'll be looking forward to seeing your progress.
Thank you so much!
It's neck of a job moving ,that wears you out faster than a lot of other work. Looks like you got all your steps in for the next year.😃😃
You got that right! Lol, thanks!
This is an overwhelming process to watch ... And you had to do it. Well done, and thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Wow! Glad the goodies made it safely.
Thank you very much!
