I came across one person who said that Mirabel didn't get a gift because she already had what she needed. I thought about that while listening to this song and I realized it was true. Everything she said she would do if she had a miracle she did in the movie. She grew flowers, moved mountains, and healed what was broken. Her natural gifts and how she used them with love for her family were more powerful then all the other family members' gifts. Its not what gifts you have its how you chose to use them that make them a gift or a curse.
One person said that Isabella is Beauty, Luisa is Brawn, and Mirabel is Brains. She was smart enough to heal the family without needing a gift. She is smart enough to lead the family in Abuela's wake.
I'd say she's the only one who had any chance of healing the family because she was the only whose burden was not defined by the gift they got, Mirabel's burden was feeling like she didn't belong so she could see past the gifts to who the person actually was and thus heal the rifts in the family because of instead being in the way of connecting the others her burden was the reason to connect and see the other's point of view.
And to think Stephanie beatriz recorded this song while in labor! The emotions are very real.

Her power is her ability for unconditional love. She was chosen as the heir to head of family.. Abuela was given guardianship over the miracle for the same unconditional love. but when Mirabel didn't get a power, her unconditional love wavered (when we see the candle flicker) and the cracks in the foundation of the house and family began. Anytime Mirabel doubts her unconditional love (giving or receiving) cracks happen. That's why yhe house had to crumble, so Mirabel could remind Abuela of her unconditional love.
Mirabel *is* special, just as she is, but yeah.
Material conditions _are_ a thing, and the messaging of 'just be grateful for what you have' can be used against you, to keep you in your place or in a toxic situation, if you're not real careful. 👏🏾✨

I’m glad she didn’t get a power. She was the miracle she was the reason that the magic was and is still going. She’s going to be able to become her Abuela and be the ruler of Casita. We are going to have more Encanto movies because of this.
One theory is that she didn’t receive a power because her role is to take after abuela when she passes away. Become the new keeper of the candle, it’s why the house listens to her more and helps her more than the others.
This song makes me tear up every.single.time.

Funny thing, Abuela doesn't have a gift either. You said before that she can build houses, but that's not true. She didn't build Casita, Casita built itself. Abuela has no gift. What she does is protect the candle & lead the family. That's it.
Her power is the same as her Aubrila, she's the next custodian in waiting.
If Mirabell was given a gift she would probably have the power to feel peoples emotions but she doesn't need no superpower for that!!!

A good example as you were searching for around muinet 5, is my life. I am on the autistic spectrum, so normal stuff for the rest of the world can do, is impossible or extreamly difficult for me. Example: I can't really tell people's emotions and sarcasm goes way over my head. So being unable to do something so simplistic that everyone can do is extreamly devastating 😢 like I know what is supost to be normal, I try to be this normal, but the only thing I can do is WAIT ON A MIRACLE and pray some guy will understand and except me so that I don't grow old, sad, and die alone with no one to remember me 😓

A good way to describe it: a family of musical prodigies, and you're the only one in the family with no musical ability at all.
I felt that she didn't get a "door" like the others because the whole HOUSE was hers. That was reinforced for me by what happens in the very end of the video. Her "gift" was the ability to bring people together and mend mental breaks caused by the "gifts" they were granted and the stress that came with keeping up the facade of the "Familia Madrigal"

This song hits me so hard in the feels, January I ended up losing my kids and partner over something soooo small and out of my control, then was alone in my room for almost half a year just WISHING and HOPING that one small thing would change, that a chance or opportunity would present itself.. Mirabel saying she will stand by the side as they shine is how I felt, apart of a family I wasn't really apart of and seeing people grow without my influence or praise, also saying I'm totally fine, I'm not fine is very relatable, very hard to show people what your really feeling and from the outside you can seem so uncaring or ok with something when actual fact is your dieing inside a little more everyday.. Took a while to get out of that darkness but just like Mirabel does eventually we will all find where and who we are meant to be.. Even if at times it seems hopeless

So the most prominent theories I've heard of why she doesn't have a gift, is because she didn't need one, or Casita was her gift because of the doorknob at the end. I personally think it's because she's the one whos going to take over the candle from Abuela, since she's the only other family member without a gift, but I like the one where she doesn't need a gift most.
The last song is "All of you"
So, the cool thing is that she DOES get a power, or at least realizes one. She is the upcoming matriarch for the next generation. She's Abuela's relay partner. When Abuela passes away, she will lead the family. There's only two characters the casita responds to: Abuela, and Mirabel. Mirabel walks Antonio to his door. She gets Pepa and the others to open up about Bruno despite the ironic fact that "we don't talk about Bruno". She gets Luisa to open up about the pressure she's under. She gets Isabela to open up about the pressure to be perfect unlocking her greater power. She gets Bruno to talk about why he never left and have another vision and see what he didn't see before. She then gets Abuela to reflect on herself, apologize, and then reunite with Bruno. She's the key. She's the one who heals the rifts in her family, she heals what's broken, she moves mountains for Luisa and makes the new flowers grow for Isabela. And ultimately she's the one who restores the magic and the Casita at the end.
She's the new Abuela, the only other person in the house besides the spouses - and Mirabel of course - who has no magic power.
That scene when he's trying to get her to not be mad at Mirabel and before he can finish she hugs him saying "Brunito" - dear Bruno.... tear jerker. Boom. Instant crying.
