The day John died I was in my middle teens & that night we went down to the Grapes pub in Mathew Street obviously everyone was in shock it was quiet we got some drinks & sat at a table in the front corner & this fella pulls out a Harmonica & starts playing Love Me Do. He absolutely nailed it, played the riff but carried on & played the whole song. Just one of those perfect moments in life you never forget. 🙏

@@peter22564 I know exactly how you felt. I went to the same school as Paul and George obviously years later but with many of the same teacher's that they'd had. When the school closed Paul bought the building & it's now a Fame/Music school. As you say losing Marley so young was blow the only other loss that really hit me hard was Bowie. That was a shock I just couldn't process his loss for ages. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

I met Paul on the 8th floor of Capitol Records. He shook my hand and in his Liverpool accent asked me " So what's is like working here?" I was dumbfounded and in awe. I'll never forget it. He was just so nice.

Oh! Wow! Well, he likes to talk to everyone. Which is nice! He frequently would take a Bus in London and get recognized by someone. And they’d say: do you know you look like Paul McCartney? They can’t believe it’s him taking a Bus somewhere like a regular Bloke! But he is a regular guy and doesn’t like to be locked away because of Fame. He gets out a lot and I think that’s healthy. And good for him!
I saw some great portrait type photos of him on Horseback🐎 recently. I didn’t even know he rode Horses! 🐎 But he looked like he knew how to ride. That’s a good outing! Going out on his farm in Nature riding. Getting plenty of fresh air! I thought he’s got it figured out! He’s not stuck inside somewhere breathing stale air. He out in the countryside with the green grass. Although he doesn’t play Golf as far as I know.
Hey, thanks for sharing those details! You didn’t have to, of course! I appreciate it as a fan and admirer of his. I like to hear insights about what people are really like!
And I didn’t know you met Linda! God Bless her! She was a sweet lady! If there is a Heaven, I’m sure she’s there.
And God Bless Macca for making millions of people happy with his shows singing Beatles songs that people love for so many years. He’s been touring for 30 years! Amazing!
And I thought you were going to share some grievances against Capital Records like they were cheap or treated you badly but you surprised me by saying it was a dream job. That’s great!
I wonder if anyone even works there anymore since record companies are practically out of business. Because of digital downloading and Covid killing the music business for two years straight.
Well, I guess you were lucky to work there when you did. I bet there aren’t any jobs left now.
      Thanks for sharing!

@@alfching2499 Except for Tom Jones and Tony Bennett😁. McCartney doesn’t sound that bad at all. I get it, he loves what he does best.
He could have easily had the board-engineers process his vocals through autotune, tone shifter, and vocal exciter..like the rest of them. But he kept it real!!😁.
God Bless Paul McCartney. Rock on👍☕️
